I can't believe I'm reading all these negative reviews in which most say to just "adopt". First of all... its not anyone's decision but the buyer's if they want to adopt or buy a pure bred puppy that hasn't been in a cage and depressed in a shelter for who knows how long. I understand the value of giving a dog like that a good home, but it doesn't fit in every circumstance. When my lab of 5 years suddenly passed away, my family was out of the country and arriving in one week. Just for me to go home knowing my daughter was gone was heartbreaking and I couldn't allow my family to feel that pain upon their arrival. I searched for dogs left and right, options to adopt and buy. I came across Puppies To Go and from the first conversation with them I knew I was in good hands. I purchased a beautiful Golden Retriever, we named her Lua. My wife and daughters went from tears from our loss to tears of joy. Nothing will ever replace our Lab, but Lua was an inspiration. A day or 2 after arriving home Lua had a cough and runny nose. Upon taking her to the vet to get her shots and checkup, the vet informed us that IT WAS COMPLETELY NORMAL FOR THE DOG TO GET SICK DUE TO CHANGE OF ENVIRONMENT. But I will tell you... what an incredibly beautiful and smart dog she is. Potty trained in 2 days, and already learned sit! The negative reviews here are of bad judgement and put blame on a place that sold a dog and not the irresponsible owners. THANK YOU Puppies To Go for a great experience and making everything happen in time for my family to arrive to our new member of the family. I have already given referrals!

Their slogan should be: where you can buy the puppy of your NIGHTMARES! We Bought a beautiful pomeranian puppy at one of their stores(watch out they own several stores in Miami) and the puppy started the get sick when we got home. I called them to tell them and they said that the puppy needed to adjust to their new environment...Well after several sleepless nights, doctor visits and thousands of dollars spent, our puppy DIED exactly a WEEK LATER FROM PURCHASE. PUPPIES TO GO did not want to pay for the expenses,so we ended up having to hire an attorney. Only after hiring our lawyer they ended up agreeing to partly pay in installments what we had spent. Unfortunately we never read the yelp reviews until after going through this painful situation, when we realized of the many stories similar to ours. This is cruel and abusive towards the animals and families to have to go through this. So please! DO NOT BUY FROM THEIR STORES because you most likely WILL encounter a NIGHTMARE!

I found Puppies To Go on instagram and saw that they have the most beautiful puppies I've ever seen and I've always wanted one. My husband, son and I decided one day to go and just look at the dogs and I asked to see three different breeds. English Bulldog, Schnauzer and cocker spaniel. The second Natalie came out with this chubby English bulldog I was about to start crying! I was so over joyed I knew it from the second I carried him that he was the one. So the following day I went back and bought him! His name is Rocky and he is about to turn 4 months. I love the service Natalie and Michelle are the best, so sweet ! I've told both that I will definitely be back to buy 2 more ! Thank you Puppies To Go for giving me the puppy of my dream !

This review is coming after 8 YEARS of telling family and friends to stay away from this place. I never thought about putting my story on Yelp. But after telling yet another friend about what happened with my dog today, I feel that it's time to make this story public. If you're considering buying from Puppies to Go, it may change your mind and, hopefully, your heart. I apologize ahead of time for the long post, but this is necessary. In 2008, I was outside of my house in Schenley Park near the Gables, when a car pulled up to talk to my former roommate, who was outside as well. They told him that they had found a stray dog, but that they didn't live around the area. So, they were either going to leave him with someone who does live around there so that they could find his owners, or they were going to take him to the shelter. My former roommate decided to take him, but when they handed the dog over to him, we noticed that he was freshly bathed, had a haircut, and was wearing a collar and leash. He didn't look like a stray at all. Either way, we took him, and that afternoon, I took him to Red Bird Animal Clinic down the street to scan for a chip. His chip was registered to this place, Puppies to Go. I called the shop to see if they had a record of who they sold him to, and they said that "after a year, they discard the records." The vet estimated that the dog was about a year old, give or take, so I really don't know if the shop was lying to me. Either way, we put up an ad on Craigslist with his picture and we posted signs, trying to find his owners, but no one responded. After about a week or two, no one had claimed the dog, and I had fallen in love with him. He was a beautiful, blonde cocker spaniel with a really loving demeanor, and I couldn't picture parting with him anymore. We named him "Charlie," and I decided to keep him. Pretty soon thereafter, we noticed that Charlie had blood in his stool. So, we went back to Red Bird Animal Clinic to have the same vet check him out. Turns out, Charlie had heart worms, stomach worms, an advanced ear infection, and a skin infection! He also had a bite mark on the top of his right ear that looked to be infected. Charlie needed MAJOR life-saving treatment, and the vet had a big talk with me to prepare me for Charlie's death (which he believed was almost certain at this point). I told the vet that I couldn't afford the thousands upon thousands of dollars that it would take to even TRY to save Charlie with the little chances he had. Considering that he knew Charlie was a rescue, and that he knew my circumstances, he gave me big discounts and a payment plan to give Charlie a shot at life. Charlie had to go through weeks, sitting in a cage without movement so that his heart wouldn't get out of control. He went through so many doctor visits, medicines, x-rays, needle pricks, biopsies, stool samples... I can't even tell you how many. But thankfully, after all of that hard work, that vet saved his life. Charlie was exhausted, and so was my pocketbook, but I didn't care. Charlie made it. I have now had Charlie for 8 wonderful years. He'll be approx. 9 years old in April, and he has a clean bill of health. I said before that the vet saved Charlie's life, but he really saved mine, too. This boy has been a life-changing miracle for me. I always tell people that he fell out of the sky and onto my lap during a difficult time in my life so that I would have someone to look after and love. Without having him during that time period, I really don't know where I would be, but I know my life wouldn't be as good as it is right now. Looking back, my former roommate and I really believe that the people who were handing him over to us on the side of the road were his family who bought him from this shop. They probably couldn't afford Charlie's treatment, and they probably thought handing him over to someone else was better than putting him down. If our suspicions are correct, I just can't imagine what that family went through with this disgusting place. This shop has some NERVE allowing its animals to get sick and not caring about them AT ALL, just to be able to sell pure-breds to people who are willing to pay top dollar for them. Each and every time I see the scar above Charlie's ear, I can only imagine other puppies in this infested, dirty, overcrowded kennel, crawling all over each other and biting each other (because that's where one of the vet techs thinks that injury came from). If you're still reading, thank you for sticking with this post all the way through. And PLEASE, instead of going to horrible, unethical places like this one, PLEASE ADOPT from animal services! My Charlie could've ended up there after starting out at a place like this. Charlie was lucky, but other beautiful, loving deserving animals won't be as fortunate! PLEASE do not support these horrible breeders who couldn't care less about their animals' health! ZERO stars for this place, if that were an option!

IF CONSIDERING THIS PLACE, PLEASE READ: Last week we took my little brother to this place to pick out a puppy, it was his birthday present and he was really excited about it. He picked out a little pocket beagle "Rocky" , which we all fell in love with. The first day at our house we noticed that Rocky had a weird cough and then he started having diarrhea, so with growing concern we took our new puppy to the vet. The vet informed us that our puppy had a virus that rarely ever any puppies survive (Parvovirus), & that we had to leave him over night. After a couple days of the puppy not responding to treatment the vet called us and let us know the puppy had passed away. Outraged that we had been sold a sick puppy we got in contact with the pet store, per their policy they gave us a new puppy which was actually Rocky's brother on 2/12/16 . Today 2/14/16 our new puppy is also sick and has been having bloody diarrhea. Our family grew attached to both of these puppies and instead of this being a nice experience for my little brother it has been a very tragic one, having the first puppy die and now this one is also sick. After doing some research now we've realized there's even a lawsuit against this business. We wish we would've know this before hand which is why I took the time to write this review. DO NOT BUY YOUR PUPPIES HERE!!!!!! R.I.P Rocky *********The canine parvovirus (CPV) infection is a highly contagious viral illness that affects dogs. The virus manifests itself in two different forms. The more common form is the intestinal form, which is characterized by vomiting, diarrhea, weight loss, and lack of appetite (anorexia). The less common form is the cardiac form, which attacks the heart muscles of very young puppies, often leading to death. The majority of cases are seen in puppies that are between six weeks and six months old. The incidence of canine parvovirus infections has been reduced radically by early vaccination in young puppies.

They explained that the dogs play all day, have activities, are separated by temperament, and that puppies are carefully monitored. This gave me peace of mind since I had concerns about his joints, breaks, and being around larger dogs since he's just a baby. When I dropped him off, the man at the desk was also professional and explained that Murphy would receive a temperament assessment around lunchtime, and I'd get a call afterward with an update. He said I could either pick Murphy up then or leave him longer depending on how things went. Unfortunately, I never received a call or text. When I finished work and called them, the woman who answered was short and unenthusiastic -- she simply said, "Oh yeah, we have Murphy. He's in with the dogs, he's fine." Her tone left me uneasy. When I arrived, I found Murphy sitting off to the side in the large dog area, panting and looking unhappy. The dogs in the group were very large, and one was jumping excessively on top of other dogs (I'm talking like a kangaroo. 6ft in the air. The dog should be named jelly bean). Murphy, normally playful and confident, seemed timid and off. To make things worse, he was completely soaked -- his belly, legs, tail, everything. The floor of the play area was covered in large puddles of liquid, and while the staff member tried to tell me it was just "water from the hose," it was clearly urine. Once home, it was undeniable from the smell that he had been sitting and lying in urine (possibly mixed with feces). I was told dogs are only walked once a day and use a grass area outside. From what I saw, the indoor space has no toys or stimulation, and the floors are left wet with urine throughout the day. This means the dogs are essentially playing and laying in filth for hours. I left with Murphy timid, drenched in urine, and completely unlike his normal happy self. When I raised concerns, I was met with a dismissive response rather than care or reassurance. While I was in the lobby, I actually asked other people dropping off their dogs if they would recommend this place, since I was so concerned. To my surprise, they said they would. So perhaps some dogs are less sensitive to the environment, need less enrichment, or hygiene isn't as much of a concern to their owners. It's possible I caught the facility on a bad day. I am grateful this was a free trial because I would not have paid for such substandard care. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will not be bringing Murphy back. I sincerely hope the facility improves its sanitation, communication, and oversight, because the way the dogs are kept now is unacceptable. - I felt providing an update on this review is important for anyone considering bringing their pup to DogTown. After I picked Murphy up from daycare and wrote my initial review, he slept for hours and hours. When he finally woke up, he had developed a severe limp in his front leg. The limp worsened, and he ended up at the vet today. Thankfully, there are no broken bones, but the vet believes it's either a soft tissue injury or a hairline fracture. This almost certainly came from the rough play that's allowed at Dog Town, as Murphy had no issues prior and had just been cleared at the vet the week before during routine vaccines. My poor 5-month-old puppy is now on pain medication and sedation so we can keep him practically on bed rest while we hope his injury heals on its own. The vet also noticed a growth on his lip, which is canine papilloma virus. While I can't say with 100% certainty that it came from here, research shows it's commonly spread in dog daycare and boarding facilities, and the timing makes it very possible. With both of these things, I truly wish I could rate this place negative five stars.

On one stay, my dog was actually bitten by another dog. The only thing they offered was a 10% discount, which barely touched my $800 bill. It didn't feel like they took the situation seriously at all. 2. They also signed me up for their membership to give me some small perk, and when I tried canceling it a month later, it turned into a whole ordeal. I had to reach out multiple times just to get it taken care of, which was ridiculous. 3. And then recently, I booked a short stay on a Monday and wasn't told it was non-refundable. When I asked for a refund two days later, the owner wouldn't give it and only offered credit. I explained that I've already had several issues with them, but it didn't seem to matter. The lack of transparency was on their end, yet I was the one stuck with the loss. At this point, I honestly regret ever bringing my dogs here. The owners seem more interested in sticking to their policies than actually listening to customers or owning up to their mistakes.
