However, what' will keep us from going back is the no-personality service. Been there twice in the afternoon and both times the service was stoic. For us friendly service tops everything. I say "mildly suprised" because once we walked up to the actual coffee house we heard the live music on the large back patio. One of our absolutely favorite local artist, Aaron Howard was performing, and he definitely brings in a crowd. It was busy, as I mentioned, but not too crowded, and we found a good table towards the back. As it was the begging of the hot weather this spring, we were very grateful for the generous-sized table umbrellas. But first, we went inside the Bodega to order a Beer and a snack. They have a great selection of Beer and wine! And since we were still 2 hours or so away from dinner, we decided to grab a veggie & cheese board, which had a nice variety of cruditè and humas. It was very satisfying for 2 adults. We spent.a total of about 2 hours there and left there knowing we would be coming back to Janey's. Side note: For those of you who need accessibility, I myself am on an electric scooter for ambulating. The parking lot is dirt and only has a couple of handicap parking spots. But no space is more than approximately 150 ft from the entrance to Janey's. Once you get to the building, it is very easy to get in and out of the main bodega, with wide, level doorways. The doors were propped open when we visited. I did not utilize the restroom on this visit.

A Chic Little Matcha Moment…read more I think I just found my new favorite coffee shop! We stopped by The Coffee Builders before my nail appointment, and honestly, I'm already planning my next visit. The whole place has such a chic, stylish, effortlessly cool vibe -- and maybe it was just the day we went, but EVERYONE was so well dressed! I absolutely loved the energy. And can we talk about the AC?! It was COLD in the best possible way. With this Arizona heat, walking into an ice-cold coffee shop is basically a luxury experience. We ordered the Blueberry Rose Matcha and the Strawberry Fields, and both were such pretty, refreshing choices. The fruity flavors made them feel like the perfect little treat before heading to my nail appointment. We also grabbed the quiche, and WOW -- it was amazing! Warm, savory, flavorful, and honestly the perfect pairing with our drinks. It was one of those little bites that makes you think, "Okay, I definitely need to come back for this again." Between the gorgeous atmosphere, creative drinks, delicious food, freezing-cold AC, and effortlessly fashionable crowd, this place checks all my boxes. It has that special "I want to come here and romanticize my life" kind of energy. 5/5-- cute drinks, amazing quiche, chic vibes, and the perfect little escape from the Arizona heat. I'm officially obsessed.

I was happy to see they had a limited cocktail menu. Anything beyond a Bloody or a Mimosa is unnecessary at a bfast/lunch place, but word is they're getting a new full bar in an upcoming renovation. So if you like an Old Fashioned with your pancakes, you're in luck! We had a bunch of stuff, highlighters the million $ bacon. Lowlight was the biscuit bites. Nice flavor but super dry. The menu pic is better than the actual. Good place though. Overall the food, service and atmosphere will get me back there.

I am reviewing the North Valley Pkwy location…read more First Watch has been on a downhill slide for a while, and my breakfast here on Friday confirmed it. I was in Phoenix for a work trip and ordered breakfast and drinks for three people. The bill was around $100, which would be perfectly reasonable if the food and service matched the premium pricing. Unfortunately, they didn't. I ordered the Morning Meditation, advertised as a fresh juice made with orange, beet, lemon, ginger, turmeric, and agave. After a long wait, I received what appeared to be plain orange juice. When I asked for it to be corrected, the server brought me a small cup of beet juice and told me to mix it in myself. I then asked about the other advertised ingredients, including the ginger and turmeric. He mumbled something, and when I asked him to clarify, he said something along the lines of, "I can't go to the station; I don't have access to it." He then walked away, and that was the end of it. No attempt to correct the drink, replace it, or remove it from the bill. This wasn't my first visit. I've eaten at First Watch many times (various locations), and the food has consistently been bland and barely okay--perhaps a small step above IHOP--while the coffee tastes like basic hotel coffee. Service is hit or miss, but more often than not, it's a miss. I have no problem paying premium prices for premium food and service. But First Watch is charging premium prices without delivering either. At this point, continuing to return after so many disappointing experiences is probably my own fault. I won't make that mistake again.

I stood at the front for about 5 minutes before being acknowledged, and when I was, I was just told to "sit anywhere." After sitting down, I wasn't given menus and ended up having to go get them myself. Another 5 minutes passed before a server came over. When I asked about the specials that were advertised online, I was initially told there were no specials at all. Then she said, "oh, like happy hour?" which just felt dismissive and rude. We came specifically because of the Taco Tuesday and happy hour deals listed online (which even showed a date of April 7), but none of that was honored, she said that those specials were for the RODEO only. By the time my husband and daughter arrived, we realized there weren't even tacos included on the happy hour menu, which made the whole experience feel even more misleading. Between the lack of organization, slow service, and not honoring clearly advertised specials, the experience just didn't match expectations. It's frustrating to choose a place based on what's promoted and then have a completely different experience when you arrive.
