Picked up a fruit cake to serve at a friend's party. As we cut into it there was a long black hair embedded in it. Total disgust from everyone, embarrassment for us. We had to throw the expensive cake away. The next week we were watching a segment on FOX 10 Mobile to see Punta Clara Kitchens highlighted. They were in the kitchen, NO HAIRNETS on anyone. Disgusting! Where is the Health Department?!?!? read more

What a great find. I loved everything I tried and the items I brought home. I live out of state & will probably be ordering from them online. The goober pie was so good. read more

So cute. Road our bikes from The Grand. Wanted to buy everything. Check out the samples. So yummy read more

The jams and chocolates at Punta Clara taste good, not the best I've ever had, but still good. The ambiance of the store itself is quite nostalgic, inviting, and interesting. A few weeks prior to Christmas we purchased over $200 of goodies to ship to friends throughout the U.S. because supporting small businesses is incredibly important! The check-out clerk was not friendly, I suppose she was having a bad day; hopefully her day improved and on our next trip she will not be as snippy. read more

Always a treat when we travel. Love everything about this place candy, service and atmosphere. You won't be disappointed.

Wonderful candies. Lovely and helpful staff. And their custom cakes are awesome. And the location and building are charming

The pralines we have gotten from Punta Clara are delicious. Also, the fudge and sauces are very good too!

Some of these prices are outrageous, that is ridiculously you need to be a millionaire to go there.SMH.

I stopped by here looking for gifts for family and was pleasantly surprised. There were so many options, including chocolate, fudge, pralines, and jellies and preserves. They also had sugar free chocolate options as well as sugar free jellies. I spent a while just looking through everything. They make cakes to order as well! You can also watch the kitchen make goodies right in front of you so that was really neat! Everyone was very welcoming and I felt it was fairly priced. Stop by if you're looking for sweet gifts or if you just have a sweet tooth yourself! read more

Love this shop!! You can watch them in the kitchen using whole ingredients, just like Grandma used to make!! I have to go for the fudge every time I visit Fairhope, but there is so much to choose from and EVERYTHING is delicious!! read more

Best place to bring visitors! The Paceys believes you need to taste their creations before buying. Samples galore!!! I'm very fond of baking Brie with the Blackberry Jelly & chopped pecans in puff pastry/Pillsbury Crescent rolls. Simply delicious. read more

Such a cute place! Antiques and pictures lining the hall. Two rooms had jams, jellies, pickled items, sauces and cakes in jars. Also nuts, chocolates, cook books, fudge, candy and more. And samples, lots of samples! Everything was delicious. I was curious about how something tasted that was not out as a sample, so they got an open jar from the refrigerator so I could try it. There is something for anyone's taste here! read more

Awesome candies and jellies. I sampled a lot of the stuff and bought some pralines and a small jar of hot pepper jelly. You can watch them making stuff in the kitchen and the owner had a degree in home economics from The University of Alabama! How often can you say that??? Three different wonderful ladies talked to me about the different stuff they have and made me feel right at home. This is definitely a must do in Fairhope. read more

In an area full of can't-miss places, the nostalgic draw of Punta Clara Kitchen is irresistible. Walking onto the huge porch and through the screen door, I'm transported back in time to my grandmother's kitchen, where she was forever making preserves, jellies, and other wonderful concoctions. Growing up, I was delighted by the kitchen's multicolored chocolate crustaceans; of late, I've fallen in love with their Praline pecans. Get a sample or two while you're in there to ensure you get just what you want! read more

Lovely drive down to Punta Clara to find this treasure in Baldwin county. We were there on a Monday around 2:00pm. There were plenty of samples to enjoy. Went there with 3 friends and we all bought something different so we could share. The candy is fresh and delicious. Plus there are antiques to look at in the hallway and the home itself is a throwback to another era. Worth it for the drive itself but there are the goodies at the end for every taste. read more

Such a sweet family business and we were so happy we decided to stop by. The candy is delicious and the owner was so kind and patient with my kids. We'll be back for sure! read more

I travel to this area frequently for work, and I can't leave (nor will my family let me leave) without picking up treats for them. The samples are plentiful and EVERYTHING is absolutely to die for. It's also fun watching them cook in the kitchen, not to mention the charm of the old home where the shop is located. read more

It's a vacation thing to be sure. The candy is good and it's an interesting place to visit. However, if you do the math you might be put off from buying fudge or other candies that are effectively as much as $40 per pound. We bought several quarter pound containers of various candies and they are quite good, but I don't think we'll be going back any time soon. read more

The decor of this place reminds me of "grandma's". Well if grandma sold antiques and offered you all kinds of fudge and jellies. All candy offered here was definitely homemade and I like how they offer up samples for just about everything. There were a number of jellies for sale as well, but I didn't sample any of those. The pecan pralines I decided on were quite delectable. I think the quarter pound I purchased lasted a solid 48 hours in my house. I won't visit here too often to avoid gaining 30 pounds. The place is kind of small and prices seemed a bit on the high side, but I think you get what you pay for. On and the kid working the cash register was very friendly. Happy to support a local business! read more

When you are tired of your remaining teeth, stop in for some of the best pecan pralines and peanut brittle in the entire world.

Fantastic. Almost everything is hand made on site. With several types of fudge, homemade chocolate candy, and other goodies, Punta Clara candy Kitchen will be a stop every time I pass through. They are stocked with cute gifts and treats for the road to anyone driving by. You may even get to chat with the chef as she shows you around. Not to mention the free samples! read more

Yummy! I would have posted pictures but we ate everything we bought before I had a chance! It's a cute little place with lots to look at and samples! The young man working was 3rd generation family and he was friendly and helpful. I can't wait to go back! read more

Amazing service and the best gifts I have ever given customers - they all loved it and it was a local gift so folks were delighted to see Punta Clara. It's a very well known and regarded establishment. Please visit this place and if you have kids, bring them - it's adult candy really but lots for kiddos as well. It's amazing and worth the trip. read more

All of the candy that they sell in this old Victorian house is made right there. It's a 60 year old family business, and they must be doing something right if the method still works. Perfect stop on a drive down a beautiful coastal road. read more

Great bits to sample throughout the store, and there is no way you can leave without buying something tasty. There's something for everyone - shirts, hot sauce, jellies, and of course, sweets. We had to get some toffee pieces, brittle, and an assorted pecan tin. You can see the lovely ladies making the sweets as well. The owner was lovely as can be, and you can feel the love and history of the business. read more

Great place to visit, great sweets and if you're a fan of hot sauces, you need to try some of Punta Clara's Kitchen hot sauce. Great sweets and absolutely love their dark chocolate covered cashew nuts. Must see! read more

Omg! Homemade candy doesn't get any better than this! Friendly family owned establishment. Goober cup was peanut butter creamy and delicious. The pecan brittle was sweet and crunchy. Adorable chocolate frogs with other shapes and colors. Love the antique pictures and shop! read more

Visited this place today, and between my partner and myself, we spent about 50.00 on a few pieces of mediocre candy. I'm not giving one star for the candy though. I can't "complain" about the candy. But after buying this pricey candy, I asked to use their restroom and was told "only if it's an emergency" As if "we really don't WANT YOU using our restroom. Now I suppose that could have claimed that it indeed was an emergency but frankly I was taken back. Again MY PARTNER AND I just spent 50.00 for a few pieces of candy( not the customer service that I expect) Also, there's a children's birthday party going on here at this time with about 20 little girls there. Am I to believe that there's no bathroom for these children to use? No, I'm sure there is. But the rude, snotty girl who told me that it's only for emergencies, also told me that that is "BECAUSE IT'S NOT UP TO CODE WITH THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT"!! How is it that you HAVE A RESTAURANT (OR KITCHEN AT LEAST), AND NOT HAVE A RESTROOM THATS UP TO CODE?? HOW CAN YOU HAVE CHILDREN'S BIRTHDAY PARTYS AND NOT A RESTROOM THATS UP TO CODE FOR KIDS TO USE?? .... Frankly, I do know that there's a restroom here. NOW, I BELIEVE THAT THE PACEYS WHO'VE OWNED THIS PLACE FOREVER, AND HAVE DONE WELL, ( charging 3.00 for a postage stamp sized piece of heavenly hash) CAN AFFORD TO HAVE A BATHROOM THAT IS "UP TO CODE" .. For everyone to use! Now I can't help feeling that maybe WE weren't welcome to use the restroom because we are a gay couple. That's quite ok though because the PACEYS will not get another dime of ours. read more

Amazing sweets and the chocolate covered pecans are the absolute best! Very sweet and kind family that works there and helps with anything! Lots of samples for everything read more

The candy was great, a bit pricey. BUT the problem I had with them was the fact they claimed they didn't have a bathroom we could use even though traveling with small children. It is not exactly like there were tons of other options around. How is that for down home southern hospitality? Plus we had just spent a nice chunk of change on their over priced candy! read more
