    Chicken Korma

Over and over, I have found the best place for delicious desi food is not your high-end Indian restaurants that are not catered to the desi diaspora instead, the best places are hole in the wall, Pakistani/Desi restaurants, where the service is counter, but the food is out of this world delicious. Baltimore was nowhere on our horizon. We were headed to Boston. Baltimore was only a quick 30 min stop to unload passengers on our flight and load new passengers, but that quick stop ended up being more than a 6-hour saga, and our flight ended up being canceled. We had to scramble to find a hotel and a place to eat. We wanted comfort. We enjoy delicious desi food, so we were delighted our search led to Punjab Kabab and Sweets. As I mentioned, the place is a hole in the wall, but the food is delicious. Everything from Palak Paneer to Goat Biryani to Chicken Tikka platter to Chicken Korma was delicious. The Kheer was the highlight of our dinner. Everyone loved it so much. Also, the gentleman at the counter is so hospitable. He took such good care of us. We are leaving the restaurant with happy hearts and happy tummies. Recommend

First, but not last, visit to Punjab Kabab! A little hole in the wall on the Main Street in Arbutus. Dining area is sparse but clean. Can smell the spice while they cook which makes it hard to wait for the food - smells so good. The chicken tikka masala with basmati rice was delicious. The chicken was tender and spicy. The sauce was also tasty and was also spicy but not overwhelming. The palak paneer was also flavorful. Spicy with a little kick but you can taste cinnamon too. Couldn't eat the entire dish but I did try. Large portion of Nan, which was light and fluffy.

I ordered the Lamb Biryani, which was a large portion. I was very happy with it. My brother liked his Chicken Tikka Masala, but the portion was small and it didn't come with rice. I gave him some of mine. The restaurant is small. I would recommend take out over dine in. The staff was kind and friendly. I did not realize this place was in Arbutus. They even made sure I had directions to get back on my way. I will be back to try other menu options. Thank you.

Best butter chicken in Baltimore and probably the best I can remember. Great prices and a great family that runs it.

It is certainly the best restaurant in Catonsville, and you won't have to pay $50 for one dish (like you would at say Beaumont). We have like 10 favorite things on the menu--I just tried 2 new dishes last night--and now maybe that number is up to 12. You basically can't have a bad order, the food is absolutely delicious. If you like spicy food and ask for spicy, they will actually make it spicy which is SO nice. (Usually when I ask for spicy and emphasize SPICY anywhere I go, I get a mega mellow spiced dish and it's hugely disappointing). My top orders are chicken xacuti, kerala fish curry, kashmiri naan, mixed spicy pickles, and malai kofta. Oh, and kheer (so good). I love it all. Not only is the food phenomenal, the ambiance and service is top notch. The dining room is absolutely gorgeous and spotless. The front of house staff wears button up shirts and dress pants. There are fresh flowers (and if I remember correctly, candles) on the tables. There are beautiful murals painted on the walls. It's absolutely romantic. And! Cherry on top: it's BYO, so you can bring your own bottle of wine. Absolutely a gem on Frederick Rd.

I've seen this spot when driving in Catonsville and have been meaning to test it out. I ordered some veggie samosas and saag paneer (spinach sauce with cheese chunks). The samosas were very good, a little spicy, and came with a green and brown sauce. The saag paneer wasn't my favorite, it was very concentrated and the spinach flavor was incredibly overwhelming. It was bitter and I had to stop eating it. When I ate the second portion, I added some heavy cream to lighten up the flavor and it was a little bit better, but I've had better saag paneer. I would try this spot again, especially since it's so close.

My mother ordered the chicken tikka masala and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the chicken vindaloo (medium), which was flavorful and delicious. A friend and I were seated quickly, and provided menus. I knew I wanted mango lassi and ordered that. We decided to split beef samosas and garlic naan. I went with a veggie saag dish but asked for it extra spicy. The mango lassi was amazing, it was hard to stop myself from chugging it. The beef samosas were well made, perfectly flaky, however, I realized in that moment I prefer veggie samosas. The entrees arrived and my dish smelled amazing. I tried my best to spoon rice onto my plate, but the rice was oddly stacked high on a plate and would just tumble down like an avalanche. I prefer my rice in a bowl. So, my saag dish, while well prepared and was hot, was lacking flavor to me due to the spice used to provide the heat I wanted. And that's on me. I realized this meal that I should get maybe medium spice at most, then ask for whatever their version of "hots" is on the side. Overall, it was a very pleasant visit. Service was amazing. I just made bad choices, which is not Little India's fault.

Came in for lunch with my dad and we loved everything about it. The inside has a classy ambiance with plenty of tables and a full bar. We were the first customers, but the place filled up shortly after. I'm of European descent, but I take it as a good sign for a place like this when pretty much all the other clientele appeared to be South Asian. They started us off with a complimentary papadum basket with cilantro-mint chutney and tamarind sauces. Delightful. We ordered two appetizers: Vegetable pakora and chili pepper paneer. The vegetable pakora was interesting. I'm used to a mix of veggies fried in their own way, but these were fritters that seemed to be a mix of onion, potato, and I think zucchini. It worked, especially with the chutneys to top it off. The sizzling paneer was also great - nice and crispy crust with a perfect spicy glaze. I'd get either of these again. For the mains, we got Chicken Korma and Malai Kofta. When our waiter asked for our spice preference, we both said medium. I think medium was perfect, even though I'm used to a mild Malai Kofta. I think it was my father's upper spice limit, but he loved his Korma. Both sauces were easy to mop up with some butter naan. Even a simple cup of masala tea was memorable - perfect amount of spices and milk to mellow them out. Would drink this again. Our waiter was attentive but gave us space to enjoy the meal and each other's company without frequent interruption. According to our waiter, they have lunch buffets on the weekend only. He added that Sunday is the bigger day of the two. Maybe I'll come back one of those days to sample more of the variety of offerings. Wouldn't change a thing. Great experience. Definitely recommend.
