Gone is the animatronic band, with half of the band not working. Also gone is the ball pit and slides. What's not gone is the very meh and over priced pizza. It doesn't suck but it's not great. They do have a salad bar and other items on the menu to order. What's good about the new Chuck E. Cheese are the games. Lots of games for toddlers and kids. Some for adults too. Most, if not all of the games, are one token. They give you a card to use for the games. You purchase either a time limit or tokens. The tokens do not expire and you can use the same card on another visit. So no quarters needed. Tickets for prizes are recorded on the card. I had a 3 and 5 year old in my party and they had a blast. Recommend.

It looked so different inside, in a good way! It seemed much cleaner and more modern. There were nice staff members working, and it was a weekday afternoon so not a ton of people. It was rather warm inside and I got uncomfortable quick. Especially chasing a toddler, I found myself sweating within minutes. Since we hadn't been before, I was unsure what to purchase. The worker suggested I do points rather than minutes. I messed up by listening and we had used our points within the first 45 minutes of being there. Not because we had played so many games, there were so many that took our points and weren't working. The Ski-ball was missing the balls completely and scanned my card almost three times in trying to get it to work. I should have purchased unlimited play in a time frame instead. Lesson learned. I also paid the $10 for my child to jump in the trampoline area, only for her to freak out and get scared and never get in it. The workers heard this going on and I even mentioned it when cashing in tickets for prizes and there was no way to do a refund or anything for it which was aggravating. Not that we deserved it or were entitled to it, but it would have been nice to have something that we could have traded like points for a couple of games, or exchange for a drink or something, just so that $10 wasn't completely lost. It's not like I knew my kid would freak out after begging for an hour to do the trampoline thing. This place is looking better than I remembered, but I feel like it still has some improvements to make.

The total for it all was $38. My food came around 10:15pm. It was hot and fresh. At 10:23pm, I heard final order announcement for food/drinks. At 10:34pm, my friends food arrived. He said it was hot. He was supposed to have garlic parm fries with his chicken tenders and they were regular. They tried to give it on the side but friend said it wasn't good. I checked on my drink at 10:36ish and was told that someone else was making it. My friend and I went back around 10:44pm to check on drinks. My friend got a blue Long Island and it was sitting there since the last time we check about 10 minutes ago but no one said anything. There was another drink sitting which was supposed to be mine but apparently someone else took my drink. What was there was a mai tai. The staff began making my drink around 10:46pm and she brought it to me about 2 minutes later. It was tasty. Overall, bowling itself was fine. We had no issues with the lane. The biggest downfall was the wait for food and drinks. There was only one staff in the kitchen. Another lady, who i assumed was a manager didn't help until later on. This bowling alley is definitely not the best in Greensboro. I would say possibly better than Triad Lanes but Spare Time is definitely the best. There is Bourbon Bowl downtown but it's expensive and I haven't been yet. This would be a good spot if you want a chill and not so busy atmosphere. They can get busy though. Personally, this wouldn't be my first choice. I had planned to drink and bowl and it took almost an entire hour just to get my drink. Then there was no time to get another one.

I played Grandover Resort's East Course this past Tuesday, September 15, 2026. The course was about…read morewhat I expected based on the rates I saw online. Like many facilities built during the last golf course boom of the late 80s and 90s, I think Grandover has seen better days. The way they've let some of the conditions go - especially the bunkers - was a telltale sign to me. That said, I still think this is a solid public course for the Triad. Grandover has two 18-hole courses. The East Course opened in 1996 and the West Course opened in 1997. The East Course is the more difficult, "championship" course. The West Course is more forgiving. At the time of writing this review (September 18, 2026), weekend morning tee times (peak rates) are as follows: * East Course: $100 for 18 holes, $60 for 9 holes * West Course: $101 for 18 holes, $61 for 9 holes It's nice they offer a 9-hole option on the weekends. I found the East Course to have an interesting, challenging, and scenic design. To me, it's a classic Southern course with hills, slopes, and undulations, along with water hazards and plenty of "bunkers." Some of the prettier holes include No. 4, with its covered bridge and yellow flowers, and No. 18, with the water feature and resort building near the green. The greens and fairways were in good shape, for the most part. Some of the tee boxes were in poor condition. I could tell they've scaled back on maintenance details over the years, perhaps because the resort hasn't done as well as was projected in the late 90s. The clock near the practice putting green and driving range was faded. Fortunately, I saw a guy on a lift touching it up as we made the turn. The E-Z-GO ELiTE golf carts were mid-tier, but had GPS. The golf shop was relatively nice and appeared to be well stocked. The mural on the rotunda inside is cool. Service from the staff was good. I will say the facilities are set up well to handle large events. I attended a golf tournament fundraiser with about 140 players, shotgun start, and everything seemed to go smoothly. I rented a set of clubs for $75, paid for inside the golf shop. The rental set was very good and included the following clubs: * Titleist GT2 woods: driver (10 degrees), 3-wood (15), and 4-hybrid * Titleist T350 irons: 5-iron through 43-degree PW * Vokey SM11 wedges: 48, 52, 56, and 60 degrees * Scotty Cameron putter: Special Select Squareback 2 The rental set also included two sleeves of Srixon Soft Feel balls with the Grandover logo and a bunch of Grandover tees in the bag. I took pictures of the scorecard and uploaded them here on Yelp so you can see the course ratings and slopes for both the East Course and West Course. I didn't see them on Grandover's website.
