I had them at my house for about 2 years and my in laws had them at their house as well. After completely inconsistent service and daily outages at both locations and endless tech support calls with them they finally told me that they were tired of my complaining about their service and told me to cancel my contract. Also during the installation at my house the tech shattered a glass pane around my front door because they drilled into it, and didn't bother to tell me. I didn't notice for a few days so they told me that I wasn't able to prove it was them. You couldn't see it from the outside so I have just left it. I have been away from Skybeam for a year or two now but I was doing some computer work for a friend the other day and they told me that Skybeam now charges them $20+ a month extra for data overages. This is not in their contract and it doesn't say anywhere on the Skybeam site that they have a data cap on their service. Essentially they lie to the consumer about what their bill will be and just hope that they don't question it. They have 3 kids and do a bit of netflix streaming.... Seems like pretty normal usage by todays standards so if you sign up with them I would add an extra $20 bucks to what they quote you for overages that you will be charged. So here is the deal... Their speeds are slower than everyone else in the area, They have constant outages and inconsistent service, They have low data caps and will most likely charge you extra per month, and if you bug their customer service they become downright rude to you. Skip em and go with the proven Comcast or Century Link. I guarantee you will get better service.

    I am absolutely furious with this company for charging me over $80 a month and delivering a service…read morethat is a complete joke. Every time I call for help, I'm subjected to an endless cycle of being transferred from one clueless representative to another. Each one claims it's someone else's job, wasting my time with pointless speed tests that show I'm getting nowhere near the 1 Gig service I'm paying for. I've done every system reset and followed every instruction they've given me, only to be told to "have a great day and hang up" without solving anything. My setup is simple: two computers for gaming, two phones, and no TV streams. There's no way four devices should cause my internet to fluctuate from 0 to 200 to 25 to 300. I've never even seen a 1 Gig service, let alone experienced it. Downloading games is a nightmare, taking over an hour for a small game and an entire day for a larger one. My plans are constantly ruined because updates can't download at the speed I'm paying for. I remember going to the grocery store and coming back to find my game barely halfway done! This is unacceptable, and I urge anyone considering this company to think twice. I'm done wasting my time and money on a service that doesn't deliver.

Next, their customer service reps are the worst I've ever dealt with before. Overall, crappy internet at high prices, zero accountability or trust. This a bad faith business. Wish I could give less than 1 star.
