found next to dryer

My dryer isn't better, and I feel taken advantage of, mistreated, insulted, and gaslighted by both unprofessional tech and customer service. I read that repairs start at $89. That's the initial fee and is applied to any service performed but that only seems to cover them to show up at your door. I tried not to be annoyed when Jordan didn't get my message asking him to come straight to the nearest door where the dryer was, and when he asked me to use my restroom 10 minutes in, for WD-40, and to use my vacuum. He knew I was approachable. But I was surprised when he headed to the door and simply said it would be $176 and that he sent me an invoice to pay right now. He didn't replace anything and he never said anything so I assumed it had not gone above the initial fee. I didn't understand why he thought I would pay that much, and without being informed. He said $176 is the cost of a standard no parts repair. So, it sounds like every call is going to be at least $265 and they should be up front about that instead of advertising $89. I asked if my friend had not paid the $89 already and he indicated that was true. I told him I didn't like the surprise and paid with credit. During repairs I appreciate being updated along the way. I expect that a mechanic might charge a fee to look at or diagnose a car, but then before going beyond that, they would explain what he is going to do and give an estimate and ask if I agree to it. When he left, the dryer didn't start. It wasn't plugged in all the way so I plugged it in and it still doesn't start every time now though I did get it to start after a few times. This was never a problem before he took the door and button panel off. I found something next to the dryer that must have come from it, some kind of mat. My friend and I both understood the charges the same way and I petitioned the company respectfully. The response from customer service was to call me a liar, "We were able to confirm from the technician that the charges were discussed before completing the service." 11 days later I still have no satisfactory answer as to what this part is or why my dryer isn't turning on every time. It didn't take that long for them to come out initially and to demand immediate payment. Today they say most likely the new issue he left me with is completely different and will be a whole different service call starting over with another fee $89... This company should be avoided, but especially by vulnerable people. You have to be ready to record and double check their every move and fight over the bill.

I absolutely do not recommend this business based on my interactions with one of their workers, he was an absolute creep.

We have had A&E come out for a few different issues over the years, and we've had nothing but great…read moreservice and awesome techs--I was genuinely surprised to see that other people have had such radically different experiences. 1) We had an ice-maker fail in a fridge. We put in a service ticket through American Home Shield, and had an appointment two days later. The technician showed up on time, was really pleasant, and ordered the part. When the part was received, they showed up two days after that and did the install--again showing up on time, completing the work quickly and being pleasant and efficient. 2) My parents have had A&E come out to deal with all the mischief with their Samsung refrigerator-from-hell. The techs who have been out there have been on-time, every time, and patiently dealt with that undergrad-engineering nightmare of a refrigerator without using any of the words *I* deployed in trying to figure it out. 2) The most recent issue--a dryer that needed roller-replacement--Put in a ticket with American Home Shield on Wednesday night, and received an appointment slot on Friday. We received an update to give us a more specific time that the tech would arrive, the tech called and sent a text to let us know he was on his way, and he showed up on time. Sage was great--he gave our dryer a thorough check, and identified a couple of other things in addition to the rollers that were not quite right. He checked on parts availability, let us know when they were expected to arrive, and gave us a time frame on when to expect the next service call to be scheduled. Did I mention that Sage was great? Friendly, polite, pleasant, efficient, and NICE. A&E has already set another appointment for them to come out to replace the parts. While they're being paid through the warranty, we were still provided an estimate of the cost of the repair--which was definitely reasonable for the parts, two tech visits, and the labor for the repair. If I weren't getting A&E through the home warranty, I'd be calling them anyway because the service, the techs, and the communication have all been outstanding.

100% scam. stay away from AE home services They keep calling and texting me and then when I to…read morestop, they hang up on they try to argue with me saying I'm not but yet they refuse to stop harassing
