We stayed here on the last night of our honeymoon and mentioned this to the front desk; we asked if there was anything special they could do - perhaps a complimentary breakfast? The manager came out said "yes, in theory I *could* do something... but I won't" which was an unnecessarily unpleasant way to handle a polite request. This would have been a nice gesture given that we had been staying at other 5-star hotels in Australia throughout our honeymoon and received a few special treats along the way that we really appreciated. Again, what was most odd was that he didn't say he couldn't do it - just that he wasn't willing. Additionally, once we got to the room, the mini bar situation was very confusing - no printed menu, the maid we talked to outside our door had no idea how it worked, and after some digging, discovered the menu was available only through a not-so-intuitive screen on the TV. When we called the front desk for this information, the same manager mentioned above wasn't able to explain how to access this information either and instead passed us off to another representative. This should have been much more intuitive especially given that based on our experience, most other hotels in Australia had free mini bars, so this could have been an expensive mistake. Lastly, one note to keep in mind, the bathrooms had a very "modern" style that offered absolutely no privacy (just a sliding glass door), so guests should be extremely comfortable with the person they're sharing a room with. Aside from all this, the room was clean and we appreciated the proximity to the airport however our experience left a bad taste and we won't stay again. read more
