I really enjoyed our two night stay here. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. The rooms are nicely updated and had USB outlets next to the bed. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. There were complimentary small bottled waters which we could easily carry with us while we were out and about for the day. The shower and tub were separate from each other and by the tub was a large window to the city, the situation screamed "use me"! So I did and it felt so nice to soak in the tub.
The best part of this hotel is the location. I'm so happy with the location here for shopping and sightseeing. We were next to Westfield and other shops which was great for shopping (Chanel and Louis Vuitton have multiple stores within walking distance to each other) and food. The Westfield mall has two food courts with very fresh and good food (unlike in the US where you are usually limited to fast food options). Also the hotel is in the center of everything so it's a easy walk (1mile) to the opera house in one direction and Chinatown and Paddy's Market in the other. Or if you want to take the train instead, there are stations about two short blocks away!
We were able to take the train from the airport to get to the hotel (got off at St. James). It took about 30 minutes. And from the station, it was a quick walk on Market to the hotel. The hotel entrance is on Market and is fairly small entrance since it really is situated inside of Westfield between other shops, but there's a doorman there and a small Swissotel sign. You can ask the concierge desk to print you the train schedule if you need to take the train back to the airport and want to confirm time/trains etc.
The only thing I would change is opting out of the breakfast buffet next time, not that it was bad, but there were so many food options nearby to try that it would've been fine to eat breakfast outside instead of the hotel. The breakfast buffet is definitely very gourmet though and had everything! Small pastries, fruits, DIY sandwiches, toast, jam, rooftop honey, yogurts, all sorts of cereals, custom made omelettes, sausages, eggs, hash browns, potato, grilled tomatoes, beans, miso soup, steamed pork bun, porridge, pancakes, waffles, juice, DIY smoothies! read more
