My husband and I are on day two of celebrating our honeymoon at the Langham Sydney and I just cannot wait until we leave to leave this review! Absolutely everything about our stay has been perfect. From the moment you enter this beautiful hotel, you're struck by how gorgeous the lobby is. Our check-in was quick and easy and the staff here are incredibly warm, kind, and helpful. The breakfast buffet is plentiful and delicious with many amazing vegetarian and vegan options. We were upgraded to a Harborview room with a gorgeous view - the bed is incredibly comfortable and the room is equipped with everything you could need during your stay. We've stayed at Langham properties all across the world and keep returning to them because they truly do feel like a home away from home. The Langham Sydney is no exception. Every single person we've interacted with, has been so kind and helpful and gone out of their way to make our stay memorable and beautiful. I truly look forward to coming back to our room at the end of a long day and I'm so happy that we have a few more days to spend here! I know that we will be back to this beautiful property next time we're in Sydney.

Loved the service. Walked on the door and was given a bottle of water. I'm not even staying here.

The last guests spent espresso pods.

I like so many things about this hotel, but a lack of attention to detail brings the overall experience down slightly. I chose the Langham for many reasons. Location in a nice but quiet area, proximity to things to do, it's elegant, rather than ostentatious or drab in decor (look at you, Crown Towers and Four Seasons, respectively), and it's willingness to accommodate the few of us left in the world still trying to travel COVID-safe. In those areas, The Langham is a winner. I want to give a special recognition to Jonathan, the concierge. He was exceptionally kind and knowledgeable, and remembered us throughout our stay. Where it stumbles, though, is the detail. On check-in, our room was not ready. No worries there, I get that. But when I'm told to expect a call from the hotel when my room is ready, I expect to receive that call. I never did. Don't ghost me, Langham. When I try to have some coffee from my Nespresso machine in the morning, I shouldn't have to clean out the previous guest's five used pods. When I go to sleep at night, there shouldn't be a gaping hole in the duvet cover exposing the comforter beneath. This and the above coffee pod leftovers are ugly, easily avoided, and show a lack of attention by the housekeeping staff. When there are three guests in a room, there should be three sets of towels. Why else do you ask how many are staying if not to prepare your luxury room to the needs and specifications of the guests? (I know why). I find these admittedly minor things a bit strange since, with less than 100 rooms, The Langham pitches itself a boutique hotel. And boutique, to me, means small, well managed, and details. Other 'boutique' hotels excel in all areas of service (Hotel 41 and the Great Northern Hotel in London, for example), but the Langham needs a bit more effort to get to this standard. Still, I'm in no rush to look for somewhere else to stay on my next trip to Sydney. I'm comfortable here. It feels like home, and that's hard to do.

Tiny but perfect flat white served on Wedgwood China. Fancy.

I am a big fan of the British hotel, and their teas, scones and precise decor, but most of all, their beautiful basement pools! Give me a basement pool any day. Let's face it: a British basement pool works almost anywhere. A basement pool is perfect with London's cold rain and grey skies, and it works just as well in sweltering Sydney in summer, where its almost too hot to be outside in the sun by 10 am given the tropical heat. It works well late at night with a bathrobe and glass of wine, and early in the morning before anyone else has even stepped foot into the water and you are the first to arrive. The Langham basement has a lovely pool with Ionic columns holding up a roof, and a ceiling covered with a constellation of sparkling stars. The water is perfectly warm. It is hard to resist. It's attached to the Chuan Day Spa, which takes up the second floor (private elevator ride up one level from the pool) for facials, massages and other services. We found it quite pricey and service levels mixed: while the massage I had was expert and relaxing, my partner's claimed his was disappointingly amateurish. The hotel decor is glamorous, with whites and golds and lots of luxe. Its a glamorous feeling hotel, down to the Alice in Wonderland afternoon tea, or the perfect flat whites served on Wedgwood china in the lobby. The breakfast buffet is memorable, especially the local farmhouse cheeses paired with fresh, lush honeycomb.

Stardust drink in front, lavender based gin drink. Dirty martini in the back. Both excellent !

Drop in for a drink at the observatory bar which is a beautifully designed, upscale bar with matching cocktails. They, among other bars in Sydney , are known for their gin cocktails. They even have a zodiac themed cocktail menu. The presentation of drinks is stunning and many of the drinks are served using dry ice for smoke. Incredible little spot, highly recommended if you are in the area of the Sydney opera house. Beautiful restaurants and bars in the area as well to see along the way either before or after a stop here. Don't miss this place !

This spot is cool enough for a chill visit. We had our 2 kids with us on a trip from the states. We had an Airbnb lined up a few days after we got in to town and needed a place to stay before that. We got off our flight, got a rental car and drove directly out of the airport. I have to say I'm really glad we stayed here for so many reasons. We felt so welcomed, after flying for so long it was a great feeling to come I'm to this place. The staff was warm and helpful We had a second floor room with a harbor view. The bathroom had lots of space, a very nice shower and was well lit. The lobby area was great as well, lots of open space to hang about. Espresso machine in the room was nice, I needed one after being on a 15 flight. The pool and spa we're awesome.

Great bar. Great Negroni.

My established home in Sydney. I love staying here. Not as large (thank god) as some of the other tier 1 hotels, not as touristy, not dated like some of the others and in its own little spot down a nice side street moments from the rocks, CBD and Opera House. And like most Langham properties, it has a great service ethic, a fantastic bar with great cocktails and a bed you could die in. See you soon Langham Sydney.

High Tea.

I have had the pleasure of not just visiting this hotel on several occassions, but of having stayed there and of having enjoyed the magnificent spa. The hotel has a slight air of detachment from the incessant bustle of the city, which adds to its charm. Yesterday, we spent several hours in the lounge partaking of high tea in the pastel hued Palm Court; with its beautifully appointed room and tasteful Christmas decorations, it was a lovely place to wind down the year. The service we received from our young waiter, Sean Anderson, was exemplary as was his attention to detail and his quick wit. Having said that, as someone who travels the world, the food was sub-par. The attempts to create something resembling basic scones, landing like dead weights in our stomaches. The cakes, carefully constructed mini Christmas trees, were sickly sweet, the attempt to create holistic confections, dry and tasteless, the sandwiches lacked any finesse or substance and were barely a cut above, basic deli food, the mini chicken and leak pies were as uninspiring as chewing on wood. Whilst, the over-all aesthetic was pleasing and presentably plated, the food was disgraceful for an establishment of this calibre. Although the cuisine here falls far below standards of acceptability, the prices are up there, with the very best in the world . Were it not for the tranquil surrounds and the impeccable service of our gracious young waiter Sean Anderson, this could well be considered a subversive attempt to destroy the time held tradition of high tea.

Our whole family loved staying at this Hotel! The staff and service was exceptional! This was our 1st time to Australia, so my wife and I had a lot of questions about what to do and where to eat. Gary Lee the concierge there was very helpful. He answered all the questions my wife and I had, plus he was able to find a bottle of whiskey I was searching for. My son also really liked one of the front service women. Whenever he seen her, he got really shy and hid behind my wife and I. It was the small things that made everything perfect! We switched to a new hotel because we were meeting up with friends here, and we contemplated about canceling our 2nd hotel and reserving the Langham again! Our new hotel just doesn't compare to the quality of service at the Langham! We will definitely will be back!!!

In short: if you're paying $800+ per night, you should get good service and I've never had worst service than this at any price point. The service is awful. We stayed here in August and after a day exploring Sydney, when we returned to the room, the carpet was soaked. It smelled awful and my shoes in the closet were wet. It's ok, things happen, but when we called the front desk, they sent someone up who offered to bring towels to "help soak up the water". Only after we said that was unacceptable, they checked to see if they could move us and eventually they did. No apology from anyone. Also, the small fridge was broken in the new room. The brunch is fine, but the service was terrible every single morning. We ordered coffee and it literally never came each morning we were there. It became our joke each morning. Avoid this place if you can.

The sort-ve newish recently refurbished Langham Sydney had a facelift about a year ago & i've been keen to check out the very New-Yorkish, chic redesign of the outdated & shabby Langham of yesteryear. Perfect occasion came along when i saw a Travelzoo voucher for high tea in Palm Court. Booked it for my cousin's bday like the fine ladies we are, enjoyed a plethora of teas on offering which is pretty standard at most high tea venues but their niche is its "The Wedgewood Langham High Tea"... la-di-da! The service matched the experience as we were ushered in like fine ladies in waiting, treated to our plus leather bucket seats, complete with lap napkin placing. The usual 3 tier high tea platters with what felt like an Alice in Wonderland themed sweet offering, from fizzy lemonade macarons, thin layers of sweet, sour & creamed black forest cake, a dessert that had magic dust that crackled in the back of your throat, something peanut butter, something banana... spoke to my tastebuds perfectly! The savoury tier consisted of chicken & leek pie, bite sized fancy brioche cheeseburgers, smoked salmon roulade & crab in black sesame wafer cones. Then perfectly baked scones with the creamiest of creams & a little sweet & sour raspberry jam. Its a beautiful hotel, the toilet is located underground & required to take a lift to the lower spa level to access, not such a bad thing when you go & see the beautiful pool connected to the spa. I think i need to come back & really indulge with both a high tea & spa treatment next time!

I've stayed at this beautiful hotel on a number of occasions and it's by far my favourite in Sydney. Unassuming from the outside, it's a step back to a genteel time. The rooms are spacious and decorated with fine, floral fabrics. The bathrooms are grand marble affairs and even my husband who is 6ft 4 can luxuriate in the monstrous baths. The hotel pool and spa are superb and worthy of an entirely separate review. What I love most about this hotel though is the exceptional service. One time we stayed here for our anniversary. Within minutes of check-in, as we marvelled (yet again) at the sheer magnificence of the rooms, the Duty Manager hand delivered a tray of Petit Fours and a handwritten card to congratulate us. Seriously classy. In-room breakfasts are wonderful and abundant. The scrambled eggs a creamy delight served with heavy cutlery on starched white linen. Food through room service is good (though not exceptional) but everything about the experience of this hotel more than makes up for it. It is grand but not at all flashy. Beautifully understated and a must if you enjoy the finer things in life.

My wife booked us a spa day here for our first anniversary and we loved every minute of it. The couples massage was amazing, all of the spa staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The spa itself was very clean, relaxing and peaceful. After our massage we were treated to some champagne and macaroons and given some vouchers for cocktails and an appetiser in the Observatory Bar upstairs. The bar was very light and airy, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the area as well as the food and drink. We both had a stargazer cocktail which was very refreshing. We would definitely recommend the spa and observatory bar at the Langham. Maybe next time we will stay the night

Ask someone to point you in the direction of the light rail. Take the light rail to the Convention Center stop. Once there walk into the adjacent parking garage. Take the elevator to the fourth floor as if you're going to Novotel. Walk through the parking garage until you hit Murray St. and the hotel will be across the street from you. After you've checked in you can go back through the fourth floor of the parking garage to the walking bridge that will take you to the harbour and shops. You can walk all over town from this central location... across the Pyrmont Bridge, over to Chinatown, a relatively short walk to Circular Quay... it's really a great location. Swag and free stuff: Amazing! When you book on their website you get free happy hour at their bar, everything in the mini bar is free, free breakfast, free loot bag of snacks, free tote bag to swing around town or load up a few extra gifts for home. Lots of goodies! Attention to detail: Never better! From the spare toilet paper that reads "who gives a crap" to the frame hanging in the lobby for people to take selfies with, this place is fun and interesting. I found myself wanting to explore the hotel as much as I wanted to explore Sydney. Food: Nice spread! They had a really nice continental breakfast spread in the morning... lots of fruits, breads and pastries, cereal, hard boiled eggs, a variety of juices, and a coffee machine. I think there would be something there for everyone but if that didn't suit your fancy you could also pay for other breakfast options from the kitchen or coffee bar. Literally the only downside I came across was that the walls were thin so I could hear a lot of noises from the hallway and laundry room. So pack some ear plugs!

VERY DISAPPOINTING STAY- NOT THE FOUR SEASON STANDARD…read more This was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I've experienced, especially for a brand like Four Seasons that is supposed to represent luxury and impeccable service. We were suspicious upon first arrival when reception appeared overwhelmed and not able or willing to accommodate our requests. I must give a shout out to Lorenzo who did meet our expectations when we were able to enlist his assistance. The hotel felt understaffed, which affected every aspect of the stay. The accommodations were underwhelming, with rooms that were small , particularly for room class designations ,and far below expectations for price point. Food and beverage service was particularly poor. Simple details that should be effortless at this level--like providing decent coffee in the lobby--were completely botched: no cream and poorly brewed coffee. The maitre d for breakfast service was particularly rude and appeared bothered. Wait staff appeared confused and not understanding what we needed. We felt like an inconvenience, perhaps because we did not order the self serve buffet and required a simple breakfast? Overall, this hotel failed to deliver on the most basic elements of hospitality, let alone luxury. The Four Seasons name sets a high bar and while I had high expectations, this property fell short in multiple areas. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as significant improvements are needed to meet brand standards.
