Got delivery this afternoon and had to pop on here to rave about how good this garlic knot pizza was! My daughter loves garlic knots and obviously enjoys a slice of pizza so I thought it might be fun to order this pie and it exceeded my expectations! We got half sausage and mushroom for my daughter's preference and half plain for my son. The pizza arrived hot, wasn't soggy, had a great garlic flavor, and cooked perfectly. After driving by Pulcinella more times than I can count, my wife and I finally had the opportunity to try it! It was quite good! The minestrone and pasta fagoli were excellent, only to be outdone by the chicken francais. We also had some gnocci, which had a great flavor and texture... although served with marinara and a ton of mozerella... they were more than filling! A side of penne in sauce was good.... if nothing special. My wife raved about the bread twists. We'll be trying Pulcinella again soon. read more

This place is a real hidden gem! I had no knowledge of this place until we came here for a christening calibration and I was completely blown away by the quality and service. The staff were attentive and accommodating for our large group, the food came out in record time. Not to mention the quality of the dishes were top notch! I took a customer out to lunch, and they're regulars here. We sat at the bar in the back, as they always do when they come, and it was nice and relaxed. Today is Thursday, and it was around 12:30pm when we got there... there was only one or two other small groups of ppl there. The dirty martinis my customer had looked great. They had a mixed seafood salad that they said was good. I got this crazy egg roll dish with marinara sauce that was actually quite good. My main was Chicken Marsala, which came with a LOT of mushrooms, beautifully done, in this nice, thick gravy that I completely wiped up with the bread they served. It really was a nice meal, and I would go back, but the bill came to $350 plus tip for 3 of us and a 4th guy who showed up for a drink. Dined here last night and honestly didn't have the best experience. Service was pretty slow, and our server talked super fast when listing the specials--when we asked him to repeat them, he seemed kind of annoyed. We also had to keep asking for water, and at one point it took almost 10 minutes to get a refill. We had two servers who seemed to forget about us. They did have live music which was nice. The calamari was decent, but it was the stringy kind that seemed frozen and then fried. The chicken giardiniera was okay--the chicken itself was cooked perfectly and crispy, but it felt like it was missing something flavor-wise. The shrimp fra diavolo was alright too--just not super flavorful in my opinion, though my parents liked it. The osso bucco special was fine, but there was a lot of sauce that was overpowering Dessert was definitely the best part--both the carrot cake and cheesecake were amazing and honestly my favorite things I had all night. Overall, the experience was a bit mixed. Some things were good, especially dessert, but the slow service and lack of flavor in a few of the dishes made it feel kind of underwhelming. This is tough for me to write - the delivery experience has earned them 3 stars. This was a delivery nightmare, they got my husbands dish wrong. We had ordered through one of the apps and paid extra for service and delivery fees. My husbands dish came with cheese, covered in it, after he asked for no cheese. I called the restaurant and they delivered the replacement dish for free, the young teenage boy who delivered the dish didn't properly secure the fish in the car, the oil leaked out of the bag and it was dripping everywhere. His hands were covered in oil and worst of all THE OIL GOT ALL OF MY STONE PAVERS. SO SLOPPY! WHY WAS THIS NOT IN A PLASTIC BAG? MY PAVERS ARE STAINED! My wife and I chose this place because my father and uncle both rave about it. My wife ordered a pasta dish with eggplant in it, she thought it was excellent. She really liked the worm like macaroni they used in the dish, lol. I had gotten squid ink linguini with all kinds of seafood in it. It was very good! For dessert we ordered fried canollis, which were very reminiscent to zeppoles. Extremely tasty! The price for the dessert was a touch high, but overall we thought the food and service was great. Been to Pulcinella's many times and the food is always good but my experience the other night was no good. The waiters were pushing to make recommendations on appetizers, main course and the wine. We trusted them but when the bill came, they tried to charge over $600 for two people. Only to find out that this has been happening to other patrons. It is a new way to drive in revenue. My recommendation would be to not let them make recommendations, order off the menu. My mistake for trusting. I probably won't go back for a while. That left a bad taste in my mouth and it wasn't from the food. read more

Service was excellent when I dined there with my girlfriend which was early in the evening and the restaurant was not busy at that hour. Main meal was good but gets a little pricey when it comes with no side dishes. Ambience was very nice. Probably would not return because a basic chicken dish at almost $30 and then two sides at $10 or so per pop is a little low on my value scale. The food was just okay, and way too expensive for the quality, which was nothing special. You could have the same or better at almost any other Italian restaurant (and some good pizza/restaurant combos) for half the price. The wait staff was good and friendly, although they seemed rushed. While we were sipping the last of our coffee and eating the last of our deserts, the manager asked us to hurry up because others were waiting. There were 6 of us. We don't control seating schedule, and we're almost done. When you drop $1,000 (which is absurd) on a party of 6, you do not expect to get the bum's rush! We were probably there close to 2 hours, which for 6 people with drinks, apps, main courses, deserts & coffee, is not much. Anyway the guy was a bit rude, so I spoke with him on my way out, and he was even more condescending. Too bad, because we were having a nice time, shrugged off the ridiculous bill, but he ruined it and lost 6 customers. We went there for Easter. There was 3 of us. The food was mediocre at best. My girlfriend had the fish special which was Halibut I believe and my self and her son had the veal chop parm. her fish was $55 and overcooked ( which I told the waiter). The veal chops were a unheard of $65 each! Three cokes were 5$ each. This place is so over priced for Massapequa Park. They will never see me back again. The same veal chop at Cerillos in Melville is 51$ and much better. read more

Food & ambiance was great...service needs some significant work. It was our third time there bc we do enjoy the food but this time we had the tall waiter. Very unfriendly and stoic, sat us down without menus, never refreshed our waters, very inattentive like forgetting things like a steak knife and when we asked for one got a little bit of an attitude. This place came highly recommended by friends. We decided to check it out and just had chicken parmigiana and a Caesar salad. Upon receiving the menu noticed the sharing fee of $8 I actually stay away from places that have a fee. My fiancée and I order plenty of apps,1 entree and drinks and share it all. He noticed that after I ordered the menu didn't mention any pasta with the chicken. I said "oh I'm sure there will be I mean who serves chicken parm without pasta on the side" silly me because this place does! This was an absolute first! It needed to be ordered as a side and at an additional fee. After I just paid $24 for the entree. I've had much better chicken parm that came with pasta from much higher end Italian places and may I add was cheaper. I was immediately turned off the parm was good but I've had a lot better. The Caesar was terrible - very warm and wilted. We paid the bill and off we went. The same week one our friends who recommended it wanted to go there on a dinner date. We decided to try it again as I wanted to try their homemade pasta tossed in the cheese wheel. This dish can only be ordered for two or more at $11.00 each. Not bad but as we ordered this we were told it could not be put in yet as appetizers and entrees must be placed at the same time. I couldn't believe it. We placed two app orders and couldn't get them until we gave our entree orders. So we all ordered. The pasta was great! Entree soft shell crab,shrimp and lemon risotto was okay. All of us were full from the apps and took all the food to go. I like playing it by ear as I order. It was mandatory to place an entree order before you could receive any apps. I placed an order via DoorDash for a pickup and get there more than 10 mins after the end of the ETA for pickup. I ended up waiting 10 more mins for the order to be ready. Not that terrible but I left my car running (and we all know how that goes..) I got the Fusilli Pulcinella which has escarole, pancetta, olive oil and smoked mozz), garlic knots and a shrimp parm hero. Super disappointed with it all except the garlic knots. First - the fusilli was knee deep in oil. There was NO pancetta (I asked to sub it for mushrooms and if they couldn't do it, then to leave the pancetta). I got neither. There was maybe a sprinkle of mozz..rest of it was prob up in smoke)? With all that said, you'd think this was the worst of it. The kicker was there was no flavor to this entire thing. Just oil soaked escarole and bland fusilli. The shrimp parm was ok but again, BARELY any mozz. I'm just gonna assume there was a shortage that night and they were trying to conserve? Only saving grace was the garlic knots. Too bad I only had 6. Should have ordered more if I knew how dinner was gonna go down! I'm just gonna stick to their pizza next time. read more

Went to this restaurant today. It is a true gem in the heart of Massapequa. It´s located in the same building that was the post office. The food was wonderful and the service was exemplary. They were very attentive to our requests. We had one diner who has some dietary needs and they fulfilled them exquisitely. Service: The waitors were very attentive, and professional, at least until the place started getting a bit more crowded, then we had to wait quite a while before getting additional service. Ambiance: The interior is nice, some good art, and the charcuterie station they set up in the dining room is very cool to look at, though it raises questions about the cleanliness. The grapes, and other charcuterie accoutrements are sitting on plates in the open dining room for hours. Once the place started getting busier the lights dim and the music was a bit too loud. Drinks: Passionfruit Martini was delicious, a great summer drink, with a suspiciously strong kick. 8/10 Food: We ordered, Grilled Octopus, Sweet Sausage Special, Langostino Special with Squid Ink Pasta, and Spaghetti Carbonara. Octopus: For what you pay for, you dont get a good portion of octopus, but rather get many beans, olives, onions and tomatoes. Additionally the octopus was way overcooked and very rubbery with little flavor. 4/10 Langostino: Again value is really questionable $60 for 2 shrimp and some minced seafood. Again the seafood was way overcooked, very rubbery. The dish had good flavor, but rubbery shrimp is unacceptable when paying this much for a dish. 3/10 Sweet Sausage: Very good dish. The sausage was tender and the sauce nicely complimented the sweetness of the sausage. 7/10 Carbonara: Not a ton of flavor, the pasta was overcooked a tad, but for those that like a creamy carbonara look no further.
