I was skeptical because I haven't found anything close to Roman pizza here. Well now I have! You walk in and they have a ton of different options, some authentic and some their own spin on it. I purposely picked what I have had in Rome , and settled on a funghi and mortadella e pistacchio piece. The second I took a bite I knew this was different. It was light and airy and crispy , exactly as it should be. The ingredients are clearly fresh and high quality. I found the guys behind the counter to be extremely helpful and nice . They are also quite funny , especially Leo. I have been back already more than once and it is consistent. Very well done , can't wait to continue to come back and try other things.

Taglio Pizza is hands down the best pizza on Long Island. The space is roomy with nice decor, making it a great spot to hang out. The BBQ chicken is my personal favorite, but you really can't go wrong with any slice. I've tried the buffalo chicken, Margherita, buffalo, and Bianca - every single one was incredible.

There are so many great places to eat in Massapequa Park near the train tracks. Taglio's is one of the best! My son's friend recommended it and then we found out it's highly rated as the best pizza in the U.S. I had a pepperoni slice and you can taste the difference fresh ingredients make! It was flavorful and delicious with the perfect crust. The kids said the BBQ chicken slice beats any of our local places for flavor and freshness. It was moderately crowded on a Saturday night but we found a table and got our food very quickly. The music and decor gives this pizza place a unique vibe - great place to grab a slice before or after drinks at one of the local area bars. They also have an extensive mixed drink menu and amazing gelato, which we were too full to try! Will be back again and again!

Regular slice--one of the best on LI
Gail B.

I ordered a regular slice, taking the recommendation of my Yelp Elite friend "Dan's Grub Adventures". It was above average compared to the crap that I have eaten in NY of late. I grew up eating in pizza shops owned by Italian immigrants, and nothing will ever compare! I drank a bottle of Menabrea beer with it. It is a blonde Italian beer with a moderate amount of bitterness, according to its website birramenabrea.com. It is too bitter for me. I prefer Peroni, the best-selling Italian beer that only has a mild amount of bitterness. I joined Taglio's Rewards program and received 35 points on toasttab.com. The service was average, and the place was clean and tidy. I highly recommend.

Outdoor area very accommodating for kids and strollers & a perfect view of people watching & trains

I really love Taglio & the crew/staff who always make my experience positive. In the warmer months, I typically come for a slice at least once a week because their location is in perfect view of the train station, which my 18 month old son loves to look at. A few months ago, my son wasn't eating pizza yet, and Rob always gives my son a little bread if he wants which is super nice. Let's talk about the pizza and vibe now. I really love the upbeat music, the artwork on the walls is super creative and the restaurant is clean. Their fountain drinks are self serve, and there are high chairs if you need. I have never had a bad slice at Taglio. Pizza is consistently delicious and their salads are very good too. My go to's are anything with pepperoni on it & their chicken parm hero. If you are looking for a good vibe, friendly staff, great pizza with indoor and outdoor seating- give Taglio a try.

Vodka Roni Pesto

I discovered this place on TikTok and was pleasantly surprised to learn it was only a few minutes from my home in Massapequa. As soon as I walked in, the staff greeted me right away and let me know I could seat myself either inside or outside. They also have a separate side entrance if you're just heading to the bar. The interior has a really cool vibe, with artwork on the walls inspired by Roman and Greek gods, and TVs throughout so you can catch the game while you eat. All the different pizza varieties are displayed in a glass case, making it easy to see your options before they pop your slice back in the oven. The pizza was phenomenal. It is packed with flavor and the perfect amount of crunch. I'll definitely be bringing friends and family here whenever I have visitors in town. If you're on Long Island and looking to try some of the best pizza around, I highly recommend stopping by Taglio Pizza. They also have another location in Mineola. As a bonus, they offer a military discount, which is always appreciated for those of us who serve.

Finally made it here for lunch. My mom and I were in the area and I suggested coming here. Upon walking in I saw the display case with all the different pizzas! So many choices and everything looked delicious. I asked the staff member behind the counter what certain slices were. I settled on Mortadella Pistacio and Prosciutto Arugula. My mom and I split the slices. They were absolutely delicious! Both unique in flavors and not something I've had before. Staff behind the counter was very friendly and it was clean inside. I would absolutely return! Wish one was closer to me in Patchogue.

Pepperoni ~7.7.25

Taglio Pizza location popped into one of my foodie feeds with great news that they rated #3 nationwide in 2025. So I couldn't miss an opportunity to see what the successful buzz really yielded. Not to mention living in Nassau county LI, why I hadn't heard of them before. This isn't the first time either according to article I read that they were getting rated high nationwide. That said went in with no information other than their stellar ranking. Walked in via back door since we parked in back open municipal lot to a narrow hallway with few small tables that exploded onto a very large clean, covered glass counter with all their offerings. I came to find that the majority of there slices were square/rectangle in shape. So not your traditional NY triangle wedged slice. A bit thrown off and being on a time crunch I couldn't simply decide on one of their specialty looking slices...there were at least 10 different fresh kinds. So for the sake of getting a feel for their red sauce and crust, my Mr and I just ordered up 1 plain Cheese Slice and 1 Pepperoni Slice $10 (cash price). Note the slices went into oven for less than 5 minutes and came out pipping HOT!! So watch out on that first bite. My husband and I thought, alright a decent slice, not the best or worse had here in NY. I figure, I really need to go back and pick one of their Square designer slices to probably get the real award winning feel of this location. After the pop in last night I decided to research a bit on a Roman slice, and found out the name of location now makes sense, along with what the majority of slices looked like ;) A Roman-styled pizza was defined as "pizza al taglio", and this a type of pizza that originated in Rome. It is characterized by a rectangular or square shape with a thin crust . The dough is typically made with higher hydration and allowed to ferment for an extended period, resulting in a light, airy, and crisp crust. That now known, will definitely be going back to see what I truly missed, and hopefully give them that 5th star for what's truly #3 in the nation.

I'm not really a big pizza girl but my friend wanted a slice so we came here over the weekend. I do agree with others reviews about the attitude of those behind the counter. Why do they all look so mad? The pizza itself has a ton of choices which I liked, I got the Serra to start, I don't normally like pesto sauce but all the sauces together worked insanely well. I decided to take 2 slices home. The spinach and artichoke slice which I'll have tonight for dinner and the prosciutto arugula slice which was also delicious. I'd def try a salad or hero here. The food is definitely good

Not sure how this place is rated so low, it blows all the pizza in the area out of the water and was probably the best square pizza I've had in a very long time. SO. MANY. VARIETIES. I wanted like 6 of them! Wound up going with the Diavola and the potato, caramelized onion, rosemary one. Both were so good, but the Diavola was exceptional. The perfect ratio of sweet to spicy with pepperoni and cheese and fresh basil. I went back up for a second slice. These are dangerous!! Crust was so good, light, airy, not greasy, and CRUNCHY! The base held up under all those toppings. I know I'll be back to try the salads, sandwiches, and platters. Everything looked so good!

We had a great experience trying Taglio Pizza for the first time! So many pizza choices to pick from. We got a bit of everything (buffalo chicken, bbq chicken, burrata slice, tri slice). My favorite was the buffalo chicken & burrata slice. I highly recommend.

Chicken Cutlet Parmigiana 1/2 Hero. Very good.

**FANTASTIC ROMAN & REGULAR STYLE PIZZA** **CRAZY GOOD HEROS & PARMIGIANA PLATES** WHAT'S WRONG WITH LONG ISLAND PIZZA? Just about everyone likes to indulge in a nice slice of pizza. And because of this, countless pizzeria restaurants can be found throughout any Long Island town. But really, the vast majority of these restaurants are making pizza in the same mediocre manner. With a heavy, thick & doughy crust, that is really not cooked very well, and packed with excessive cheese. For goodness sake, it almost seems like, these pizza makers were all trained by the same incompetent chef! ROB CERVONI TO THE RESCUE Rob, owner of Taglio's, began working at a pizzeria restaurant at the young age of 14, and it was here he realized that he wanted - one day - to be the proprietor of a pizza restaurant. Many years later, after visiting Italy and sampling Roman style pizza, Rob decided that his restaurant should be different from the Long Island norm, and thus would instead focus on Roman style pan baked pizza. To enable this venture, he trained under Master Pizzaiolo Massimiliano Saviea, one of the foremost experts on Roman style pizza in the US. And once Rob felt he fully understood the process, he opened Taglio's Pizza in Mineola. Fast forward some years, and after receiving countless accolades for the Mineola location, the second Taglio's in Massapequa is now perhaps surpassing the phenomenal success of the first. PIZZA CHEF EXTRAORDINAIRE Taglio's is not mass producing pies, and pilling ingredients on top - in an attempt to make things interesting - as so many others do. Rob is a master craftsman chef, creating unique and bold pizza experiences. Here, the Roman style pizza starts with a light, airy and wonderfully crispy crust, which is then used to create multiple unique artisan slices. For example, the Diavola slice is made with mozzerella, hot sopressata, cherry peppers, tomato sauce, and then dressed with olive oil, oregano, and Pecarino Ramano. Another, is the Sausage & Broccoli Rabe slice, which also includes mozzarella, cherry peppers, olive oil, oregano and Pecorino Romano. Then there's the Vodka Roni slice with mozzerella, vodka sauce and pepperoni. And there's even a slice named after Hall of Fame UFC fighter Matt Serra, with mozzarella, tomato, vodka, and pesto sauces. But it's not just Rob's creativity making each slice extraordinary, as he only uses the highest quality ingredients, with many being specially imported from Italy. So even the standard Classica Roman slice with just tomato sauce, mozzarella, oregano, olive oil, Pecorino Romano, and basil creates an unexpected explosion of flavor and texture in your mouth. And it's not just Roman style pizza here, wowing customers, as the classic NY style pizza at Taglo's, with the thin crispy crust and fresh ingredients is probably as delicious. But here's a few words of advice - for the best possible experience, try to eat your pizza fresh out of the oven in the store, as it looses a good bit of its magic on the trip home. NOT JUST PIZZA Taglio's could have focused exclusively on artisan pizza, and still been a resounding success. But chef Cervoni chose to use his culinary skills to delight his customers in other ways also. An example of this being the fantastic heros served here. And as a matter of fact, the Prosciutto Hero, with Prosciutto Di Parma, arugula, roasted red peppers, burrata, olive oil, and balsamic glaze on a Semolina bread, is undoubtedly one of the best heros I've ever tasted. But you'll find that any of the ten different hero choices here are absolutely delicious. Growing up in a mostly Italian family can sometimes, over time, cause you to become bored with certain foods. And to be honest, after all these years, the last thing I want to look at when visiting a restaurant, is lasagna or chicken cutlet parmigiana. Oy Vey! But surprisingly, the outstanding Parm Plates at Taglo's have caused me to rethink things. Because the MVP Parmigiana Plate, made with fried chicken cutlets, topped with fresh mozzarella and then striped with a trio of tomato, pesto, and vodka sauces is admittedly better than any parmigiana I've eaten at any Italian restaurant. Even though it's served in a plastic takeout container! A TOTALLY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE Unfortunately, some individuals have been eating crappy Long Island pizza for so long, they actually prefer it. And because of this, it can be somewhat of a shock when they walk into Taglio's, with the busy & exciting music-pumping-neon-menu-vibe, in addition to the large number of different pizza and hero choices. And yes, five or six dollars for a slice of pizza is somewhat expensive. So these confused customers, wanting a cheap plain greasy slice may unffortunately not feel comfortable here. And so to this, l can only say - I feel sorry for them! As Taglio's is undoubtedly one of my all-time favorite pizza restaurants.

Pesto Pepperoni was great.

Hard to choose from so many great options of Roman style pizza. Service was great and the pizza was amazing.

The establishment was very clean organized with cloth table covers and a personal preference, wrapped utensils, clean b&b plates stemed water glasses etc. The food I will admit that it was good, actually very good. We opted for the grandma pizza and fried calamari. The calamari was spot on, fresh, ( but probably frozen previously) crispy but not over cooked which made it very good and not chewy as some places I have eaten, even at high end restaurants. Never trying previously the grandma pizza at Umberto's was absolutely delicious. The ingredients were of good quality. We have since ordered take out and the grandma pizza was great again. I believe consistency is key to success. We had our event in the afternoon. Decorating the area was assisted by an eager, friendly staff. The manager was on site and keeping an eye on all. We were able to successfully surprise the the birthday man and he was overjoyed. I spoke to all our guests to ask how they were enjoying everything. There were no bad reviews or comments given, rather they raved about the food even the chicken parmesan, eggplant rolatine, shrimp scampi, salad and bread was all favorable. The price was right for what we received. They did not leave us hungry with plenty of offerings. They even packed up the leftovers for us. In addition to the service they cut the cake for us but the cake we purchased at a local well known Italian bakery was of very poor quality as it crumbled uncontrollably. We made the best of it. That review to follow. All said and done, we completely enjoyed the friendly staff and manager made our day a great one. I have just recently started leaving reviews about my travels and observations. I have the time now to write these reviews with an open mind. I give credit to credit due and honest opinions about how it can be. Umberto's is a established Italian restaurant that's gets 4 stars from me. Well done operators, we will be back.

Mikes Underground Pizza just slid into my Number One Spot for the best pizza on Long Island. There's a lot of quirks to piss people off to get at this pizza. My father in law in Florida wouldn't have the patience to pull off this caper. -Coming from the north shore to drive south, *1000 Montauk Hwy* on the Tesla Nav will not bring you to the location, I was at the hospital in Islip. You have to put West Babylon at the end -And it's *Cash ONLY*. Now that we have the pleasantries out of the way, let's continue with the review. The 14" Clam Pie is a game changer. I've waited on very long lines at Frank Pepe's in New Haven to get their clam Apizza. It's good but Mikes Pizza is far superior. Simple with freshly shucked clams, garlic and breadcrumbs, now add the crust that a comes from a true New York pizzaiolo who doesn't cut the pizza Connecticut style (like it came out of a slasher film) and now you have a competition pizza that Dave Portnoy would give a 9.4. The Vodka Round was equally impressive. The sauce was so complex, first bite I could tell it was a home run, out the box (see what I did there) a winner. Here's my issue, I drove from the North Shore to the South Shore to an abandoned bank parking lot to get at this pizza. I know the business model is working for you but it doesn't for the customers. I have a plan! Listen, I'm ready to retire. I'm thinking about the next few years driving on the Belt Parkway to Bay Ridge and it gives me night terrors. Let's do this together! By Stony Brook, the college kids will go wild! All kidding aside, Number one pizza on Long Island. March 2026
