The food itself was decent--nothing spectacular, but it did the job. Unfortunately, a couple of things took away from the experience. When I asked for new water because something was floating in mine, the waitress brought it back out while peering into the glass, which made me wonder if it was truly a fresh cup or just refilled. On top of that, while we were eating, the staff started dusting off the lights above and around us. That's definitely the type of cleaning that should be done when the dining room is empty, not while customers are eating. Overall, it wasn't terrible, but it's not somewhere I'd choose again if other options were on the table. read more

Our go-to spot when we NEED a molcajete or when we just don't feel like cooking and want to sit down and enjoy. It is always consistent. Tortilla chips come out warm.. they always keep both chips and salsa coming. An order of the queso with chorizo to go with chips will not disappoint. Staff are always welcoming and attentive. Usually the food is perfectly fine, and I am regularly here. But first time I had to stop eating because I lost my appetite. To-go order for Vallarta burrito with pork carnitas. The pork was either dry and hard to chew or was gelatinous, unrendered fat with black veins still visible. Looked like the pieces were pre-chewed. I went to get lunch here right after getting my hair done at my favorite salon (Mogano) just a few businesses down. It's located in a great safe shopping area with plenty of parking but I can imagine it getting very busy at night and on the weekends. The staff is very friendly and they give large portions but nothing special about the food. Unfortunately there were quite a few flies in the restaurant which made me very concerned. The bathrooms are located in the front but the host/hostess and not the nicest bathrooms. I didn't order anything to drink but they have plenty of great alcoholic drinks. read more

The online menu pricing is not accurate. I ordered two combos to go for $32, but I was charged over $40 when they were picked up. That is quite a difference! Cinco de Mayo food quality was mediocre at best. I've had better quality Mexican at Taco Bell. They were very busy, but that is no excuse. They are close by and convenient, but it will be a while before we try them again. They need to provide checkout with online ordering, not sure why they don't. It's the classiest, flavorful, ambience filled establishment in the lake tapps area. People dancing, drinks are flowing and smiles abound. We arrived close to 5pm and there was not a seat available. Came here for lunch with my hubs and it was empty. Perfect timing and cheaper prices! I love the chips and salsa at the beginning of the meal. I ordered 1 enchilada and 1 taco and hubs had the chile relleno. We both really enjoyed our meal and our server was attentive and available if we had any questions. Over charged-- online prices are wrong and last time I checked RCW 9.04.050 False, misleading, deceptive advertising says that's illegal. Complete false advertising. Online menu for LAKE TAPPS LOCATION reads $19.99 for carne asada, $12.99 for chicken tortilla soup, and $4.99 for a side of queso and chips. My receipt told me that they falsely advertised the prices and they read on my receipt: $23.99 for carne asada, $9.99 for queso dip, $15.99 for chicken tortilla soup. Also asked for corn tortillas and they gave us flour. Will be telling everyone to stay away from this place you can't trust them. read more

This used to be an amazing place to eat when they first opened. Now it's horrible. Many people like myself kept going back thinking it would be better next time, but nope! The restaurant isn't kept up. I don't think it's ever been updated with new paint since they opened 20 years ago. What is even worse is the attitude of the staff now. They used to be kind etc now they act like you're bothering them just by stepping in their restaurant. I would rather go to Taco Time than spend another penny here. read more

I'm not a fan of this Puerto Vallarta location. We've tried it several times because we like this restaurant in other parts of the Seattle area, but this particular location just feels very grimy and dirty. The service has never been great, i've never felt particularly welcomed here. Everyone just feels kind of grumpy. The food is just OK. Overly salty for my preference though my husband does love the big burritos. I didn't really like my food. The queso we got had a chemical flavor to me, but my taco was pretty good though. The booth we sat in was absolutely filthy. There was grease on the seats. The table was not fully wiped down, in the backs of the booth you could tell had not been wiped down for quite some time as you could see greasy fingerprints and God knows what else smeared all over. I also generally do not like the set up of the restaurant as it gets very loud if it's busy. I wish we had had a better experience because we love Mexican food and live nearby, but I think we'll continue to go to the Covington location, it's so much better there! read more

Good to see them open with everything going on- Grand kids came over and I just didn't feel like cooking for dinner so I called ahead and picked it up. The bonus was no dishes and the kids got what they wanted. Ordering was a simple phone call and the food was ready exactly when promised and the order was correct the first time. All the meals were well portioned and moderately priced for an over all good value. The meals came with a nice bag of corn chips and salsa. The chips are very crisp and tasty and were still warm. All the meals came with beans and rice though you could choose mixes and matches of types of beans and/or only beans or rice. The containers were sturdy and made of aluminum foil, perfect for re-heating and resealing. The 3 soft tacos with chicken was exactly as expected though the 4 star rating would have been a 5 star with one change here. The tacos had generous portions of lettuce and tomato but it appears there was excessive water from rinsing. This water pooled under one of the tacos and made the tortilla soggy. With everything else going so well on these tough times I felt a 1 star penalty for this soggy taco was accurate. Normal times may have been more of a penalty. All in all the grandkids were happy and dishes went quick. read more

This is not a great Mexican restaurant nor a really bad one. It is, "OK". The big draw for us is that it is only about 1/2 mile from our house and is "convenient". Some of the limited beers on tap are a little watery. They are "cool" but not ice cold. We had to mention to the waiter that the cook should change the oil that the chips and tortillas were cooked in. They were a little off. It took about 15 minutes for someone to bring chips and another 10 for a waitress to ask us about drinks. By this time I had little hope of being able to eat at the restaurant bc I was on break from work so I asked for my meal to be boxed to go just in case. When she came back 25 minutes later she didn't have it boxed to go and gave me an attitude when I asked her to box it up. This use to be one of our favorite restaurants to eat at in the Lakeland Town Center. I've been coming here for years, and we have always loved the food. However, the food quality has gone way down! I would have rated it a one star, but I still love the salsa and chips, beer and also the service in the bar is always great. But, I come here to eat!! The past two times, the chicken in the chicken chimichanga was fill with water, like it was frozen or just not drained before. My tostada was pretty much, no beef and all beans and the guacamole on both dishes was horrible looking, not green, filled with black and we did not even touch it. Don't order alcoholic drinks from this bar! This review is only for the BAR. Last night my husband and I were there again for happy hour at 9 PM. We ordered their nachos and two drinks and the food was great. However, we noticed immediately that the alcohol didn't taste right. That bartender must have filled the Jameson bottle with bottom shelf crappy whiskey. I confronted him about it when we were leaving to let them know that I knew what he had done. Out favorite day to come to Puerto Vallarta is on Tuesdays for the Taco Tuesday in the bar. It's all you can eat for four to five dollars and it is a great deal! Cute surprise find in Auburn. Came to the area for a Sephora VIB Rouge event nearby. Decided to do a healthier eating choice of a salad...generous portion of chicken and salad.
