They also did a great job with cleaning protocols and managing pandemic-related challenges. The facility itself is clean, bright, and safe. Next Generation Walpole is a caring, supportive, nurturing program where children can thrive, and families are supported.

In the group lessons the kids played and didn't pay attention and there seemed to be no order. In the private lessons, the instructors were often late, cutting the lesson short (sometimes up to a third the length of the lesson). Rescheduling lessons was a nightmare and simple questions like what the class schedule was was convoluted and shrouded in mystery as I could often not get any clear answers. At one point, I dropped him off and I went to pick him up 5 minutes later. I couldn't. And I searched for another center. Our son started in a room on the cusp of the younger kids because of his speech and social development. He fell in love with one teacher, Kelly. She (and Goddard!) saw what we saw in Vincent. Goddard helped Vincent learn to love school. He's now in pre-k and loves all of the teachers, friends and now learning. He loves animals, math, writing, asked when he can start reading, and surprises us every day! My son is in speech through the Belmont Public Schools and needed an evaluation to assess the whole picture of his education. After the school visited Goddard, they expressed their approval of Ms Kim and Ms Nicole in their control in the classroom (even with some high energy little boys-- my son being one of them :)) and what love they had for teaching. I know he'll excel in kindergarten! My daughter loved every second of everything. Goddard brought out the best in her and created life long friendships! She loves to go pick up brother and say hi to all of the staff, teachers and friends. It's a place you'll always feel welcome! We'll be sad to leave Goddard this summer and recommend to anyone and everyone. The owners truly care about not only the success of Goddard, but every individual student and staff. It shows in everything at Goddard!

The two young women who led the event were absolutely wonderful managing several 4 and 5 year olds. Everyone had the best time, and I had parents telling me how much their kid loved it. Some said they would be signing their kid up for lessons! My one criticism is that it is pretty hard to reach someone about birthdays. I had left several messages and it took a few days for someone to return my car. It was much better once we were emailing, although I did have to email a few days before the event to confirm and ask when we could get in to decorate.

My daughter had a hard time doing kartwheels and got no help at all while practicing, and felt defeated a few weeks in a row with a specific instructor who paid no attention to help her. Other instructor were better, but not all were created equal. I found the facility dirty and smelly, but tolerated it because the kids enjoyed it. We decided to try out the summer camp the following summer and I enrolled my daughter, who was 5 at the time, in for a few weeks. It was going fine until the third day I dropped her off. She was having a hard time with me leaving, and the young instructor was not particularly helpful. She gave her some coloring pages and was sitting with her talking to other instructors as I walked out of the building. I got in my car and a few minutes later started to drive away. I looked in my rearview mirror and saw my daughter had run out of the building alone into the parking lot looking for me. I jumped out of my car in a panic and grabbed her. When I walked back into the building, there was ZERO concern that they had not supervised my child and had not even noticed she had run out of the building. They looked at me like I was overreacting when I explained my concern. I was horrified by the lack of professionalism and disregard for my child. I will never return or recommend anyone to this facility.

That doesn't look like pure coincidence to me at all. A truly safe and well-managed daycare should address parents' safety and communication concerns directly, rather than PR management. ORIGINAL COMMENT: Our experience at LPC was disappointing, especially considering the cost. What concerned us most was the lack of transparency and communication when issues arose. Over a relatively short period of time, our child came home with multiple injuries, and we often felt we were not getting clear explanations about what had happened. Some incidents were not documented, and attempts to discuss our concerns did not lead to productive conversations. We also noticed a level of stress and low morale among staff that made us uncomfortable. Every family has to make their own decision, but based on our experience, we would not choose this center again. Not recommended at all.

LPC has truly become part of our family (so much so that we return for alumni events each year!!). The staff, including the new director Karen, are doing a wonderful job creating a play-based environment where children are encouraged to be curious, imaginative, and kind. Both of our children thrived at LPC. They developed confidence, independence, curiosity, and meaningful friendships in an environment where they felt safe, supported, and genuinely cared for. As parents, there is nothing more reassuring than this. Highly recommend!!

I had offered to send video clips of the bear, and to send photo of the receipt. But they will not consider any of it. They also didn't seem interested in learning what actually happened. They did not ask what we bought, what time we were in the store, which staff member helped us (we have all that info, wouldn't it be easier for the staff member who helped my daughter to verify our statement?) Why did their store staff take advantage of a 13 year old girl? They also sold an unnecessary gift card, taking advantage of a 13-yr old's vulnerability. That will also go to waste because how can we shop at this store again when their basic stand is that "we need the customers to verify their story but we will never question our staff?" Here are more details below if you are interested: My 13 year old daughter went in with her friend to build a bear yesterday (Sat 9/21 at 3pm) at the Natick Mall in Massachusetts. I was not there with them as I have been home self-quarantining as I recovered from COVID. So apparently nobody checked the receipt for accuracy. This morning (Sun 9/22) my daughter came to me with tears in her eyes..."OMG build a bear charged me for personalized recording even though we didn't have one.... They charged us $9 extra! Mommy can you call them to get the refund for the over-charge?" My daughter was in tears because we have been teaching her to make smart choices. Don't waste money, don't fall into scams, etc. so she was very proud that she said "no" to the personalized recording, and I was proud of her too. So you could imagine her disappointment when she realized that the store went ahead and charged her anyway without her consent. I called the store immediately and their position was firm. You have to come in with the receipt and the bear or else there is nothing we can do. I explained that the store is one hour away, and I am still recovering from COVID, but the store would not budge. What bothers me the most was when the store manager said: "You have to present both in person in our store. As long as the receipt and the bear check out with what you are saying, we will process a refund" This statement is so accusatory! It assumes that I am lying. Not once did the store manager ask me more details: who helped your daughter? What time did your daughter shop at our store. Etc. There is no interest in learning more about the circumstance so that they can avoid this from happening again in the future. His only focus seems to be get your *ss here in person before I will entertain the idea that what you are saying might be true... I explained to him that because you are one hour away and because I am still getting over my COVID, I would appreciate another way to deal with this. In this day and age, I offered to send video clips of the bear to prove that there was no personalized recording, and to send in picture of the receipt. But he didn't want to hear any of that. Stepping back: build a bear is a nice concept and apparently all kids have a soft spot for this. But you know you are dealing with kids, shouldn't the Manager be more interested to ensuring that that is a safe environment for the kids? My daughter is heart broken because she used her allowance which she saved up over time to buy this bear, so the lack of refund even for a mistake clearly by the store's staff was not comprehensible to her. Build a bear needs to evolve with technology and with time. Is this the store you want to do business with? I am definitely not going to drive two hours round trip just for this. It is not worth my time. If we go back to the Natick Mall on another occasion in a few months, would I want to bring the bear and the receipt then? Not sure. It still seems like a very big production just to waive an erroneous charge, when the Manager could just speak with the staff who helped my daughter at the time (we have her associate number)
