Phenomenal pre-k program with ownership and staff that truly care about your child. I love the…read moreamount of time they spend outdoors, special creative projects, and immersive learning themes. My daughter has excelled and as a first time parent with no family in the area, they coached us through major milestones like potty training. I was nervous to leave her on her first week and got pictures and videos to reassure that she was doing well and making new friends. My child looks forward to going to school and we learned how special PB is when we went to a nearby summer program after the school year was over. She asked everyday to go back to PB. They also have special events and shows for holidays. There was even a special Mother's and Father's Day gift that we'll cherish forever.

I have to agree with Liza's review. My biggest regret is not taking my son out of here earlier. It…read moretook almost the entire summer for him to build back the self confidence the female teacher absolutely destroyed. I'm not angry- but want to flag if your kid has issues sitting still, has a mind of his own, or is 0.01% neurodivergent, don't do it. Differences are not encouraged and this place dramatically favors the kids who are most likely to excel (initially) in the tony school districts that surround it. My son is almost 9 and he still talks about what a nightmare his last few months at this place was, but does have good memories of his first year here with the male teacher. My husband wanted to give his last "report card" back to them and I wish we did. Our son has done nothing but thrive in our school district since.

My family has been at BY since my son (now 6 yrs old) was 15 months old…read more He has since "graduated" and is in 1st grade, while my daughter is currently in the toddler 2 classroom (she started as an infant). We have been very happy with BY over the years, and still make the drive from Medway each day to bring my daughter to/from BY. I think the best park of BY are the amazing teachers! Each classroom has a special group of teachers that are just wonderful and have really become an extension of our family. I highly recommend BY for families looking for quality early education in a nurturing environment!

The staff is fantastic. They're all very competent, patient, and loving. My older child has a flair for the dramatic, but they handle her sometimes grandiose tantrums calmly and lovingly. They have a very stable staff; remarkably low turnover compared to most program. This was very important to me. When your children spend close to 30 hours a week somewhere, it needs to feel safe, secure, comfortable. High levels of turnover would make that impossible. My children are very attached to their teachers. The curriculum at the center is exemplary. They use a lot of targeted play that allows children to learn and develop skills while enjoying themselves. For example, in any given day, my kids look forward to playing in the sensory table ( filled with anything from coffee beans to shaving cream), the imaginative play area (that is set up as a grocery store this week and a doctor's office the next), outside on the play ground, taking a field trip to the post office, having the music lady / yoga lady / tumble bus come, meeting in small groups to work on counting skills, and more. Another feature that was very important to me when I was selecting a center was NAEYC accreditation. It's hard to compare programs; you should be able to hear positive things about any center, and it's hard to know you found a good one until you're already entrenched. But NAEYC accredited programs are relatively few. This accreditation was important to me for two reasons. A) you can't get that accreditation unless your curriculum is up to the association's high standards, and B) it is a lot of work to get and maintain, and thus shows that the center believes that "good enough" really isn't good enough; that they want excellence. The program is top-notch. I adore BY. Even more importantly, my children adore BY. More days than not, my daughter is disappointed when I come to pick her up. I hear "No, I'm not ready to go. We're just about to read another story/go outside/dance/ play in the imaginative play area." For me, that says everything.

It's been a wonderful experience both for the boys and for us. Mrs. Perry taught in the Norwood school system for decades and her experience definitely shows. From the physical layout of the school to the curriculum, everything is very organized. The entire staff of teachers are amazing. They are able to perfectly blend learning with the social aspects of preschool. Mrs. Casey, Mrs O'Keefe and Mrs Shaw are all great at handling the day to day challenges that can arise with kids this age and we trust them completely. I can't overstate that - we have complete trust in all the teachers. Pick up and drop off are done by lining up the cars in the driveway and waiting until the staff come to the gate before you take your kids out of the car. This way there are never vehicles moving at the same time as the children. In the morning, parents walk the children up to the gate where the staff take them inside and in the afternoon, the staff keep the children inside the gate until the parents walk up to get them. When the first group of parents leave, the second group of cars can pull up to drop off or pick up. Very safe, very efficient. The 3 year old classes are Tuesday and Thursday, 4 year old classes are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 9am to 1pm. The kids have a snack in the morning and eat lunch at school. During the school year they will do arts and crafts projects that will help them learn every letter and number. They read stories and sing songs, and generally learn to socialize with classmates and follow directions from their teachers. There is usually at least one field trip a year, which is great for the parents and the kids. There are plenty of activities for indoor play including a train table, a play kitchen, dolls, a lego activity table and more. When the weather is nice enough to play outside, there is a playground and a grassy/astroturf area surrounded by a concrete track for the kids to ride bigwgeels around. I just can't say enough good things about Mrs Perry's Preschool and highly recommend checking it out.
