Such friendly service for the center of Amsterdam. I did try to speak Dutch to them so that helps. Choices are extraordinary here. So good. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.

I was trying to get a shot of the chocolates from the outside of the shop-open the photo and zoom in to see them closer!

Puccini Bomboni is one of my favorite chocolate shops in Amsterdam! So much chocolate-so little time to try or buy them all!!! Whether you like dark, milk or white-they have what you want and what you need (smile). Besides their huge selection, one thing I LOVE about this store is that you can buy the chocolates by the piece or pre-packaged! They are great for gifts, to add to recipes or simply a treat!!! I got some chocolate chips their to add to my holiday cookies!!! If you LOVE chocolate and find you way to Amsterdam-you must at least buy yourself a treat!

    Deliciously grateful to have these!!

My sweetheart sis-in-law mailed a box to us twelve years ago and I fondly remember these to be the best chocolates ever. Fast-forward to today, my bestie brought back (from Amsterdam) a box of love for me. I haven't tried many of their flavors, but my favorite is the Hazelnut Marzipan and then the Plum. The Plum tastes surprisingly different than it sounds. I would describe this dark chocolate as caramelized lusciousness. Stay with the dark chocolates if you don't like it sweet. The white ones and the Coconut one is really sweet. Would definitely return when in Amsterdam.

I'm a chocolate snob. A huge one. I almost never think places that people say are good are as good as they say. This place is not good, it's GREAT. I mean just stellar. It's not exactly the quality of the chocolate itself, it's the quality of the fillings that make this place so great. First, the selection is broad. You can get a multitude of flavors here from basic (hazelnut, anyone?) to very exotic (sweet pepper, you say?) They all have different shapes so you can tell the difference between flavors. Second, the fillings are smooth and luscious and very true to flavor. The lemongrass actually tasted of lemongrass instead of having a fake faint lemon flavor. Yes, the chocolates are quite expensive. But they are worth every cent. I went to Brussels on this trip as well and even the chocolates from some of the solid chocolate houses don't compare.

    Interesting combination all around

Large single pieces of chocolates. Pretty pricey though so savor each bite. Cash only until you spend 30 Euro. Worth it for high quality chocolate

Amazing chocolates! :) don't miss out on the mint one (really), almond with milk chocolate, plum, and raspberry! My personal favorite is the sweet pepper, it's unbelievable! Like heaven haha Don't go crazy like me and buy two full bags haha they are pretty filling and should be a treat. The ones I got are going to last me for days! The fig marzipan is great like others say but only if you are really into marzipan. I have to give it four stars instead of five, because I think they could have a mug better system to take care of costumers. It's usually just one person helping you (in one location there was two once, but that seemed unusual) usually, and the shop can get busy. People go on choosing each chocolate and asking questions and wondering what they want.. So it can take a long time. It is a nice to have someone's attention like that, but I wish they could come up with a better system, because this - although it "works" - is clearly not the most effective choice. If you are wandering through the 9 streets I would definitely check them out afterwards by Singel.

This famous chocolatiers is located right in the Red Light District. So after you watch the chics in the windows try to lure men inside, pop on by and getcha some delicious chocolate. Class it up a little! ;) When you walk into this place, it smells like heaven. pure heaven. There is a variety of truffles, handmade speciality chocolates, you name it. We had everything from mint, orange, jalepeno and it was all rich and decadent.

One of my favorite chocolate shops ever!!! SOOO many varieties of chocolate!!! There is something for everyone-who likes chocolate that is... white, dark, milk... I love that you can create your own box of delightful treats!!! They are great as a treat for yourself or perfect for gifts-since they can be customized. There is also your regular cash and carry pre-packaged goodies from chocolate drops, sticks, chocolate covered fruit and nuts!!! If ever in Amsterdam-it is a must to stop in the shop!!! You will not be disappointed!!!

Before I get into the shop itself, The wife and I need to note the owner and hostess. She is, without a doubt, the nicest person we've ever encountered in any shop, restaurant or store. She truly cares about her wares, and seems to care in turn about your experience and that you be happy while you are there; if anyone ever earns the designation "hostess" it is her. For lack of a better descriptive, she is grandmotherly in the best way. My wife would insist (and I would agree) to give this shop five stars based on her service alone, even if the shop was drab and the chocolates mediocre. Fortunately, neither is the case. The chocolates are universally excellent and artisinally produced. She sells them in packaged form to take with you and savor in your home; however she also prepares a hot chocolate for you to enjoy in the shop or on the go, and it is incredibly rich without being too sweet. While not exactly inexpensive, it is also more than in-line with high end chocolates in Europe. What about the store itself? Well, the sense that our hostess belongs in a Harry Potter book as a kindly, magical shopkeeper is enhanced by the store's appearance. It radiates warmth as it is filled with chocolate-related antiques and knickknacks, charming designed displays and shelves overstuffed with quaintly designed sweets packaging. But make no mistake: the shop itself is meticulously clean and neat. As you can tell, I and my wife could gush about this shop for a long while. But I'll leave you with: go visit and say hello.

When I mentioned to Debbie that I lived nearby the store she said, "that's dangerously close." That wasn't a tease nor a threat but an observation and she was right and knew it. She did say that with a grin on her face... So.....I had to check this out. Sure enough Debbie's excitement and enthusiasm for chocolate I could feel from outside as I gazed upon her grin from outside the store. It's a small boutique shop on a backstreet in the Jordaan area near the 9 streets on what is considered the 10th street in addition to the 9 streets. It has all different kinds of chocolate in all the nooks and crannies as well as books about chocolate interspersed throughout. There is a coffee machine/espresso machine and.....they offer tasters. Yep yep they sure do....tasters, samples....There is a long table with seats where they hold tasting sessions for groups, prearranged for 8-11 people with a choice on what kind of chocolate, be it dark, milk chocolate or whatever. They also have tasting events that they advertise via their newsletter. You can sign up for the newsletter on their website. It's hard not to get excited about chocolate when you are in the company of people whose passion and love for it is so strong and so pure. I'm envious. Debbie had me fascinated with how much she knew and how deep her passion is for chocolate. It's truly amazing. I wanted to know more and had/have myriad questions but didn't want to take up her time. She was only too glad to answer my questions. She more than answered my questions with an impressive fluidity of knowledge.Being expert in her subject she was excited that someone else was interested to hear about and learn more. I'll just have to stop in more often to ask more questions and to learn more. I love having such a cool store so near to hang out at and to enjoy some chocolate along with an enthusiastic person sharing interesting information about it. Huge kudos to the owners of the store and to Debbie! I'll be back.
