This black guy in his late 40's clearwater , Gulf to Bay store refused to receive the item back. He made up a story about the swimming pool "being used", and that is not the truth. The plastic pool was sitting on the back of my SUV,, and it never left my back seat , because I came home , and my husband had the same pool I had purchased. And it was clean as it was when I bought it. I could not believe when I asked for his manager, as I saw he was clearly lying about it. He told me "yes, you can report me", and I am the manager. ". Like it was the most routine thing for him. I would like to return the pool. And please train this guy, to be a better cashier. It is hard to believe a manager would make up a lie like this. I have been a customer since the stores opened in Clearwater, Florida, I don't return things much, but if I need to, I do not want to stumble with this type of deceiving cashier. The prices are good and there is a police officer out front ALWAYS on duty. Some items are knock-offs (I.e. FruityRocks instead of FruityPebbles) and there's always interesting parts/cuts of beef and other animals. The service was pleasant even with a long wait. Tip: Bring your own bags since Save-a-Lot charges for their plastic. Also, Unless you need something super quick, head over to Publix which, is just a few blocks away. Cleaner, safer, more variety.

That level of service is rare. At checkout, the cashier was genuinely friendly and engaging, which added to the overall experience. We also had an unfortunate moment where we accidentally dropped a bottle and it broke. We felt terrible but the staff handled it with kindness and professionalism, immediately putting us at ease without making us feel uncomfortable. I thought I might have a similar experience in this location, but I was wrong. I had a couple of very simple questions about the rewards program and about a sign that was displayed in the store. I asked one of the cashiers who responded but didn't really answer my questions. When I tried to clarify she finally reluctantly admitted that she really didn't know the answers. She called over another member of the staff who seemed to be a bit more on top of things. Mid conversation / question she just walked away to help a customer who'd arrived after me. This was really disappointing. It's never good when someone literally turns his or her back to you. I only happened to pass by the store because I was at the DMV next door. My visit to the DMV was actually much more pleasant to my visit to Gordon's. I won't be back to this location.
