We don't have Winn Dixie stores where I live in Illinois, so it was interesting to explore this store. The prices were decent, but for some of the core needs we had during our trip, the prices were higher than average. This said, I was able to find almost everything we needed during this trip and I'd come back again if we end up staying close. Three starts because nothing stood out as WD being a differentiator or having a significant advantage over a Publix or WalMart. read more

This store is not what it used to be when I reviewed it in 2019. The whole right side of the store feels cluttered with BOGO and other numerous bins going from the entrance, all the way back to the beer coolers, like an unorganized maze. The store appears to currently be staffed by just teenagers with no adults in sight. I'm not fragile, but hearing staff drop the F-bomb in casual conversation on more than one occasion is unnecessary. There is never anyone at the service counter. You have to wait and wait until a cashier notices and calls for help. I think others have stopped shopping here too. The few times I have been lately, there were maybe less than 5 customers in the whole store. The WD at nearby 102nd Ave is a much more pleasant shopping experience. read more

I'm a long time W/D shopper. Recently purchased a black angus tri-tip, 5.9 lbs. I have never been burned so bad with a cut of meat regardless of where it was purchased. Of course the fat cap was down in the packaging. After trimming the fat, in some areas a inch & a half thick, I ended up with more fat then meat. Which means I paid more then double the price! Pretty SAD. I guess they aren't the beef people anymore! read more

I came to Madeira Beach several times this year. Have shopped in the evening at Winn Dixie. The store is clean and well-organized. The produce is fresh. I found some specialty cheeses and other items for a charcuterie board. The last 2 times a young man named Cadence has been very helpful. He is kind and attentive to customers. Whatever they need, he makes sure they have a good experience, especially in self-checkout. As I was leaving tonight, a lovely young blonde lady was also attentive. These folks are the reason i will continue to come back. read more

This *might* be my favorite Winn Dixie within 20 minutes of my home. In fact, it definitely is my favorite within 20 minutes of my home! The service here consistently makes me smile. The cashiers just seem to be in chipper moods! They laugh at my jokes, and sometimes they even have jokes of their own to share! I think they do a nice job keeping the store organized and clean. I will say in recent days there has been a shortage of wipes for carts (BYOW bring your own wipes) and so I suggest coming prepared with your own. The produce is some of the best that I have seen in a Winn Dixie, still limited and still not amazing, so do keep that in mind. The "health food" section is quite full and they have pretty nice prices on tofu. They also have ALL of the Ezekial Breads which is a huge plus for me. Above all the meat and fish is always always always well stocked! This is super convenient. I will say the layout is a little funky, but most stores follow their own footprint so this is not abnormal. The store is usually pretty quiet, I have never had to wait in line to check out! BLESS! I notice this location doesn't seem to have very many "quick sale items" which is actually a good sign. This means they are selling through their product appropriately. read more

I shop at Winn Dixie all the time. I was very disappointed in the young turkey frozen they had for sale. I did not realize it was on sale from 25$ to 6.50, but thought because I was buying it two days before thanksgiving, that that was the reason. boy was I wrong. i cooked it and it was the toughest turkey I've ever had. The pop up did not come up at all. it had a weird fatty flavor. If you make a bad purchase Winn Dixie , please don't pass it on to the consumer. read more

Never had any issues here. Always preferred the layout and friendliness of Publix, but this location I've been visiting for ages (ever since it opened). It's a little odd that they have a bell by the exit door that they want you to ring if you had good service. But, Winn Dixie as a company is a 3-star company for me. Nice layout throughout the store the parking lot is beautiful due to the trees that they've built around the people are friendly and the prices are good if you get a card. You have to get a card! I don't like getting cards especially when I'm just a visitor but you got to get the card that's the only negative of this shopping experience. read more

Shopping here was very pleasant (see what I did there?), even around 5pm on a Friday afternoon. I don't shop at Winn Dixie often, but every time I do, I never have any complaints. When I couldn't find fresh plantains in the produce section, a helpful employee showed me where they were in the freezer section. Not the same, but I do appreciate the effort. Plenty of registers were open so wait times were minimal. When the cashier couldn't find hubs' reward card, the customer in line behind us offered hers. This was a great shopping experience, and I don't even shop for groceries on a regular basis! read more

I'm a convert! Just re-discovered Winn Dixie as my favorite go-to grocery store. When we first moved here 5 years ago, I was not familiar with either Publix or Winn Dixie. I shopped at Publix near me (nearly every major intersection seems to have one LOL). But was shocked at the prices. So I started going to WalMart Neighborhood Market or the Super Walmart which is a good jaunt for me. The produce quality and selection were awful. I turned to Winn Dixie - same issue there. And the store was an icky mess. UUUGH - why can't FL have good produce at good prices??? I searched out local produce markets and bifurcated my grocery shopping - not fun. A few weeks back I happened to run into a Winn Dixie to pick up a few items because it was convenient and was astounded at the turnaround! OMG the produce section was lovely with really great selection and quality and reasonable prices on everything. And the store was bright and clean and the employees are sweet and nice. Hmmm I thought, will try this one next time. Well, needless to say, I am thrilled that they are still around. They have earned back my respect and my business. I just wish there was a store a little bit closer, but I'm willing to drive a couple of miles. read more

Haven't been in a Winn Dixie since I was a boy..that was waaay back when Piggly Wiggly and Jitney Jungles still ruled. As a visitor of Florida I am overwhelmed by the amount of Publix stores around but since this is just a half mile from my friend's place, I thought I'd check it out. It's okay..some nice produce, a decent deli I got some strawberries which were advertised as 'buy one, get one free' only to be charged full price. Didn't see the tiny sign saying ''with a Winn Dixie card' on it. The store is big and cashiers were readily available..I think it is a step below Kroegers. I don't think it is a shabby place though. They have done quite a bit to improve their image and stay competitive. read more

Very nice, clean and friendly Winn Dixie. Was my first time in this location and I was pleased they had a good selection of the BOGO items as well as the regular sale items. Also I loved that they had 3 cart sizes! Being 5'0 I appreciated using the medium sized cart as it was easier for me to see over!! Little things in life!! I like the fact that they have remodeled the store and it was fully stocked today. My issue is with the staff. The store had plenty staff to help (including upper management) but when checking out... 2 lanes were open, 3-5 customers deep and zero baggers (all while other staff walked around seeming not to notice) I bagged my groceries, had to run to get a price check and had a very inexperienced cashier ( not her fault ). I will return but please train staff and schedule accordingly for the volume of guests. read more

I will shop at Publix from now on. There were a few people at the customer service counter so I moved over there today. Patricia was the person behind the counter. When it came to my turn, she told me she wasn't going to check me out because I had 5 items in the cart. I said fine and left my cart with the items. Publix treats their customers much better. They actually clean the carts and hand a clean cart to you as you walk in. There aisles have arrows so everyone is moving in the correct direction especially during this time. They even ask if you need help loading items into your car. read more

The most terrible services I have had in my life. Low quality of vegetables and fruits, they get easily bad in a few days. Moreover, it is very disorganized . Most of their employees didn't know the name their stuff that they were selling in the store. They should train them very well. It's very disappointing experience. This is one of the cleanest grocery stores I've ever been in! The produce is so fresh. I've tried many of the meats and seafoods, it's outstanding! Love the BOGO's in the lobby. I did most of my grocery shopping at Winn Dixie when I first moved to Florida, as it seemed to be the cheapest option... well, I guess there's a reason for that! Their produce is just not that good and seemed to always go bad pretty fast, but the final straw was when I opened a box of Rice-a-Roni that I had bought two days before and it was CRAWLING with little black bugs! I attempted to give them a second chance last year when they remodeled the store and were sending out $5 off coupons, however when I opened a container of yogurt I'd purchased there to eat for lunch (which was NOT past the expiration date- I double checked) and it had a large clump of fuzzy mold sitting right on top, I swore off Winn Dixie for good! I don't know if it's just this location but it's really the only one near my house so I'm sticking with Publix or Albertsons. read more

got terrible food poisoning from the bag salad there this past week, worst I ever had. I am quickly beginning to realize why I never went to winn Dixie in the first place. got some cold cuts there a few weeks earlier, when the lady was done cutting from the large slab of meat, she returned the chunk to the used gross looking large zip lock bag for future meat sales. 2 days after buying it, the meat smelled rancid, and I had to throw it all away, thank goodness I did...also got a couple bags of rice from same Seminole location, when I went to open, noticed a bug infestation in all purchased rice bags, YUCKKKK!!!! definitely worth the extra drive and money to go to publix where shopping really is a pleasure after setting foot in winn Dixie. read more

I moved to Pinellas Park 1 1/2 yrs ago.. The Winn Dixie on 102 Ave. is real close to my house so I thought I'd give it a try. Besides not having common items that i buy, like fruit cocktail and Golden Crisp cereal the store was dirty and the produce was old and just plain nasty! That was my last time in that store. Now they redid the store.. they repaved the parking lot.. gave the store a nice clean coat of paint and cleaned up the inside.. very nice.. so I thought. Produce still very under par.. some of the carrots even had black mold on them.. the green beans.. YUCK ! I did try out the $1 items. Seems to me.. they bought out what the Dollar Tree threw out... I had to throw all that i bought out. I bought some deodorant which yes.. i buy at the Dollar Tree.. well.. Winn DIxie's was all dried out.. could not use.. so I just threw out the rest of what i bought. Will not be shopping there. Cleaning up the place and all is great.. but get your produce up to par and stock your shelves with fresh stuff not old out of date stuff. read more
