I enjoy shopping at Publix. The selection is generally great. The service is friendly. And if you pay attention to BOGOs and coupons you can get good deals. The Publix app is a great way to see the deals going on for the week. Also if you want to pre order from the deli or bakery. I will say double check your items before leaving. More than once my order has been incorrect. But the employees behind the counter always were quick to try to fix what they could and apologized. I love the family meals here for a quick dinner. It is grab and go. I will just grab a frozen steam vegetable to round out the meal. The service is great. After groceries are bagged if I am by myself generally the individual bagging will ask if I need help to my vehicle. This location is on Abercorn. It is close to St. Joseph's. I had to do a little shopping for my stay in Savannah. I have known about Publix at its arrival to Savannah in 1991. I maybe ageing myself but hey, time doesn't stand still. I have always found it to be a good alternative grocery store even though I weren't a frequent shopper. I find the staff to be pleasant about offering assistance, so the service was really great for me when I shopped on 8/14, so I came back on 8/15. They seem to have a vast selection offering variety in fruits. My purpose for the visit. They are offering the biggest fruits I have yet to see in the south although I have been away for a decade. The Pun is intentional; I could not wait to get my hands on one of these southern peaches and wrap my lips and around one or sink my teeth into one as well. I was not disappointed nonetheless, It was firm and held together well and the juices flow just right as I bite into it. Nice and sweet but not too sweet or over ripe. I did go for Roger Wood sausages, the best sausages around and locally packed if the warehouse is still on US 17 if my memory serves me right. I wanted the beef sausages, but they did not have what I wanted. My choice was mainly on preference; I still had a good choice. I somehow ended with some type of savings, so I think I received a good value for my purchase as the cashier told me that I saved said amount of money today! Blank Stare!! read more

I always feel so welcomed stopping in, even during a busy holiday season the employees are always so amazing and helpful.

Publix is a top tier grocery store. Fresh fruit, amazing deli and friendly staff. I like to place my deli order ahead so it's ready for me to pick up as the deli can get pretty busy. I've even heard the bread is made fresh in store! The location is great, located in the Largo shopping plaza on the southside of Savannah with plenty of parking. Aisles are spacious with room for people to maneuver around with both shopping carts/wheelchairs and strollers. An employee is always around to help customers and they're all so friendly. I don't believe I've ever had a bad interaction with anyone there. read more

The employees at this Publix are all very nice. If you ask someone where something is, the majority of them will look it up on their hand held or go with you to find it. The store is always well stocked and they have a variety of items. We REALLY! Love Brandon. He bags groceries, cleans up, gets baskets from the parking lot, etc. today he assisted us getting a propane tank. Brandon also takes groceries to your car and carefully load them. Much appreciated. I love this location. It's in my neighborhood and I enjoy that everyone is always super friendly and helpful. It's a plus that they have a nice selection of vegan and gluten free items as well. Vegan cheese!!! Yes! Lol They have staff stations by the entrance cleaning buggy's and baskets during COVID. Which is nice and the store has always been clean and organized. No trash or random things put in places they don't belong. If I could rate this Publix -0, then I would. The customer service at the location in Largo Plaza is horrible. They give Publix a bad name. Their customer service is more like a Walmart store. I went to the customer service desk to ask if an item was in stock because I could not find it. The lady at the customer service desk stated what isle she thought it would be on and said that if I don't see it then that means they don't have it. I then said can you check it in your system to see if it shows any in stock. She proceeded with an attitude aa if I was bothering her! Another time in the meat department, I purchased some ground beef and blood was tripping everywhere. The store customer service is the worst I've ever seen at any Publix. I have been going to this publix on and off since I moved to Savannah 2 years ago. Every time I go to the deli I always have a horrible experience. I've ordered 2 subs a piece for 3 orders total. None of my orders have been correct. the only time I've received a decent sub is when I waited in a 20 minute line. I decided to give this deli one last shot and a huge disappointment as always. One sub didn't include pickles like asked for ( thank god I didn't spend money on bacon because every time I do I never get it!). Bread was hard as a rock and I didn't request any toasted or pressed. The other sandwich missed out on the mustard, sub dressing. Both subs tasted like a big disappointment. the staff behind the deli are treating their jobs like it's a game. Saying "what's up" to the guest waiting in line. I also was run down by two employees because their deli staff put the wrong sticker on my sandwiches that I paid for online. Making me feel harassed and made it feel like I was a thief because of THIER staff mistake and I got the crap end of the stick. Honestly I'm done using this Publix and strongly to encourage guess to not order online unless they are ready for the meany mistakes that are to come. Taking my business elsewhere from now on. Publix has been our normal food market for 20+ yrs. so I was surprised when I Stopped in this week (with GA is still on virus "lock down") and found stock persons, cashiers, and box boys all with virus masks "on" but tucked down under their chins rather than covering their mouths & noses. Store did have isles marked "one way". So it's not clear whether the market is really following safe pandemic guidelines or just making token efforts. A man absolutely accosted me in an aisle in front of your grocery MANAGER! He did nothing. The man tried to force himself on me and kiss me. A STRANGER. Then after I yelled for him to get away the manager said "sorry about that". Didn't escort him out. Didn't say anything to the man. Just continued to stock shelves. This specific store had a really stink smell, made me vomit I wanted to hurry up and get the hell out of here. I came for a salad, but saw they had a 2 for 1 soda special so I purchased cashier was a bit mean and rude older lady, but the bagger has two different colored eyes, she was so kind, and so nice. Gosh I wish I got her name but she was the sweetest, and she was so friendly their is also a beautiful young girl that worked the lotto customer care part, she was on par! I used to really like this store, but not so much anymore. Prices have gone up, and they seem to always have more do-nothing managers getting in the way than employees who are actually doing something useful. On more than one occasion, I've had trouble getting the things I need because of managers standing in front of the meat or some other section, just chatting. And they don't even bother to move when it becomes obvious you're trying to get past them. This morning, we went there early for the "senior hour" (allowing senior citizens to shop before the general public due to the Coronavirus outbreak), and had trouble getting through the door because a manager and an employee were standIng in it, chatting. And then instead of moving, the manager motioned for us to just squeeze between them - at a time when we're supposed to be "social distancing." read more

My first experience at Publix was about a year ago. From the moment I stepped into the store I was impressed. It was clean, we'll organized, and the employees are very friendly. After shopping in other grocery stores in the area this was a welcome surprise. The only reason they did not get 5 stars from me is that they seem to be a smaller kind of grocery store and they don't have all things I am looking for all the time. The service here is fantastic. Such nice people. I had a guy see that my hands were full and go (without me asking) and bring me a shopping cart. Great meat department. Nice produce. Good assortment of grocery staples...HOWEVER...that deli department is stomach churning. I went there recently and there were flies everywhere. Probably because the meat slicers were disgustingly filthy. Shreds of caked on meat in every surface. The flies were probably having a party over there. We have two Publix back in my hometown, and they are immaculate. Machines regularly wiped down. Nothing fancy...just a fresh paper towel and some water. When I suggested the same here, the poor guy had to scrub to get the large chunks loose because they had dried into hard little lumps. Also, any meat that is discarded (like slices that are the wrong thickness) are just dumped on the floor. No trash can or bag...nothing. No wonder their department was swarming. I tried to be nice (after all, he did try and wipe it down), but when I got home, I found that I could not eat the deli meat. Every time I looked at it, I thought of those dozen flies landing, puking, and possibly laying eggs on that filthy meat cutter. Into the trash can it went. My most favorite Publix ever! I have frequented them ever since they opened! Everyone is SO friendly. They greet you when walking in, talk to you as you walk down the aisles, converse with you as you are checking out, and ALWAYS ask to assist with taking your cart out (which I ALWAYS decline). They remember their frequent customers. At times fruits and veggies section could be a smidge fresher, but this is the ONLY grocer I would buy poultry, meat, or seafood from.
