Went into this Publix for a sub sandwich and cake for me and a co worker. Mat in the bakery was super helpful and knew what I needed. Deli employees were so fast and got the sandwiches done quickly. When you come to this Publix ask for Mat and the deli manage, they are awesome and helpful. read more

I have come to Publix for 40 years in various towns in Florida. This Publix is by far the most difficult to shop at. I have put in orders that were lost for meats and baked goods. Rotisserie chickens often not ready yet for the 5 o'clock rush hour. I bought Greenwise meat recently and though the outside was pink and fresh which sadly it covered older meat that was grey in the container. In the liquor store prices are often mislabled. I can go on. The solution is the Hillhopper Store. There I find capable friendly staff that don't lose my orders and try to dupe me on fresh meat, and have the sense to have rotisseried chickens ready between 5 and six when they are probably in most demand. read more

There is a reason, well, several reasons that I can point directly at to explain the rise of Publix to the very definition of what a supermarket should and could be here in the southeastern United States. First, Publix has amazing customer service. You are continuously greeted by the employees as you walk through the supermarket. They also will address any question or concern you might have. Customer service is just one thing that sets Publix apart. Another thing is their weekly BOGO (buy one, get on free) deals. Every week they have a slew of great deals. We also cannot forget their subs, affectionately known as pub subs. These are great subs. One of my main go to subs their Italian. I also like their roast beef and cheese. My daughter, who is not a huge sandwich fan, even likes their chicken tenders subs. My son, who does like sandwiches, likes their Italian sub, as well. Kind of weird to realize that some of the best subs come from a supermarket, but Publix definitely delivers. Oh, another thing that I am a fan of is the Publix diet iced tea, available over by the deli section. The deli is also pretty impressive. You can get cakes and whatnot, but I really like their bread and they also have pizza dough do that you can make your own homemade pizza. All in all, Publix is a great supermarket and it is my go to supermarket. If you have been to Publix, I am sure you will understand. If you are not familiar with Publix supermarket, try them once and you will be a fan. Publix has come a long way since they began here in Florida. They have expanded throughout the southeast and continue to grow. As I said, I do recommend Publix, definitely the best supermarket around. read more

I love this Publix! I just got helped out by Corey, he did such a great job!!! Very helpful

stood at the deli counter for a couple of minutes with someone working behind the counter before me, nothing was said, no eye contact was made, manager walked past me as well as many other workers during the time. it was up until the point I realized I was not going to recurve help from no one there that I decided to walk out peacefully without causing a scene. the Publix's is by far the worst one in florida. Publix is a great super market. The only think about Publix that will get you is the price. I think that this location as well as most others have great staffs, clean aisles, and overall a good looking store. I have visited on many occasions and I like that they keep the store consistent. You know where you can get many different items. I do think the location of the Publix determine's the price you are going to pay. This Publix is just like the other locations. This one is slightly more expensive because of the location that it is in. Overall it is a nice store. I do wish they put more cart places in the parking lot so it would be easier to put your cart away when you are done shopping. read more

Publix Super Markets - Ticket and sandwich - Grocery Near Me - Gainesville, Florida

Love the new Publix and the revitalized corner. But where is the tradition lollipop scale! It is a tradition when going to Publix to weigh yourself on the old time feed store scale. And with 72% of adults overweight in America it may be a good health initiative to reduce obesity. But then again maybe Publix's is becoming woke and does not want a scale to fat shame anyone! read more

I agree that Publix subs rule. Also, I've always loved the general layout of their stores and the overall Publix way of doing things. Publix is really quite a Floridian institution when you think about it. Krogers and Albertsons and other chain supermarkets cannot compare. Many of us who grew up in Gainesville worked at Publix in high school, and that's another reason for fond memories. In the mid 1990s they also cooked these great little crab ragoons and wontons . . . but those were sadly removed and some delis now even incorporate Crispers which Public owns or has some majority interest in apparently. read more

I really like the cashiers. Very friendly and they remember me. Great customer service. Not the best selection in the bakery. But other than that, the selection is varied and good. Good parking. But most importantly, good carts. The roll right along without turning to turn left without your permission or squealing at a pitch that can only be reached by grocery carts and 4 year olds. Good carts make the experience much better. read more

Publix is usually good, but the one on Tower and Archer is pretty sad. They are out of a lot of items regularly. The managers don't seem to care. Produce can be spotty. Avoid this Publix if you have a. Choice. read more

You ask anyone from Florida (or most places in the South) what they miss most from back home, the one thing they'll definitely name is a sub from Publix. You don't realize how well we've had it made with this Southeast chain grocery store until there's none nearby. Shame on me for getting sick of this place in college. Although at other locations in the state, I remember coming here mutiple times a week to order freshly-made deli subs. For a while they made pie-size paninis, but I mostly liked their cuban subs - made on cuban bread and pressed on the grill to seal the deal. Plenty of meat and cheese with any topping you can imagine for those and other sandwiches they make. Besides their subs they also have freshly made fried and rotisserie chicken. I find Publix fried chicken the best local chicken you can get. The deli section is great to hit up for lunch to grab some of their own made sweet ice tea to wash down your sub or chicken. It's hard to believe but this is the best place in the area to have your wedding cake me (I know I'll have mine made here if possible). A friend of mine had her wedding cake made from Publix, and it's one of the best wedding cakes I've had! *sniff sniff* I miss Publix! I miss my Publix fried chicken and cuba sub so hard! read more

I wish I lived near a Publix, heck, I wish I lived in the same state as a Publix. Growing up and coming to Gainesville 2-3 times a year, I always knew Publix was a great super market but until I came back and walked through it again, I was able to see how awesome it is. Let's start with the Publix brand of products, it's really high quality. For example, the ice cream is probably better than Ben & Jerry's and Haggen Daz combined! There's a legitimate rewards program, the more you shop, the more you save. In Texas, where I live, there are no major grocery stores with any kind of rewards program so take advantage of it at Publix. Freshness is apparent with the selection of fruits & vegetables. The deli is stocked full of meats, cheeses and hot foods. Seafood section has a huge variety of different types of fish. If you are needing a quick lunch, pick up a Cuban sandwich, they're delicious. Anyway, time to get off my 'Publix is the best place ever and I am so sad I am nowhere near one.' box. read more

Average publix. Most items over priced. People that work here are nice. It took a few minutes of asking around to find a common product I was looking for though. The bathrooms were a bit dirty. The cashier gave me a hard time about using samsung pay. read more

I only went to this location today because it was on my way home from the mall. Otherwise, I would usually go to the location further down 34th (5200 SW 34th St.). First of all, this store is disorganized. There is no logic to the way things are laid out. Secondly, my cashier literally forgot to give me my change during my checkout transaction! I gave him cash for my small purchase, he got distracted halfway through the transaction, and starts looking around behind him. When he finally turns around and returns to reality, he starts scanning the items of the customer behind me! He realizes he hadn't finished with me, and gives me my receipt, but not my change! It was only 13 cents, but it still shocked me that a cashier could forget something so vital. This Publix is ok for getting the basics, but I will definitely not return unless I have to. Also, the store was pretty devoid of customers, especially for a Sunday afternoon- which probably says something. read more

Put the kiddies in a basket and turn off the camcorders at this lucky location!!! Great job by my man working the cash register!!! Shout outs abound from the night crew to the stock heads. Knowledge is brought all around this little beacon of ambiguity. Can't wait for----THANKSGIVING with these lovable turkeys on call. read more

This is a review for their sandwiches: which, are pretty good. I had never been to a Publix before, but first off, I was very surprised by how SO many people were lined up for the sandwich counter - as if it were it's own shop, like Subway or something! The sandwiches were good, but depending on who was serving you, your wait could be very long. But, they do a good job. And, apparently you can order your sandwiches, ahead, online. read more

Best grocery store ever!!! The store is always clean I matter which location you frequent. I've been to other chains in other states and you can tell from neighborhood to neighborhood that they very. Not with Publix they care and put their best foot forward in each store. The service is always top notch, the staff and management go out of their way to assist with any needs. They have an amazing deli and bakery in fact the best I've been in compared to others. Honestly I would rather pick up a sub that public than a sub shop any day of the week. Price wise people sometimes complain but I think they are comparable and the quality is better. You get what you pay for. Quite frankly I feel better shopping in a clean store knowing my food is being purchased there than a dirty one where I have to wonder what my food has been exposed to. Now if they would only open a store in my hometown in Virginia my life would've complete! Miss my Publix! read more

Publix Super Markets - Getting our sub on!! - Grocery Near Me - Gainesville, Florida

I went into this location with my service animal. This is not my first time in the store with the service animal and a blonde lady approached me and told me that the animal needed to leave. She approached us in a very rude manner and when I asked another employee who she was they said she was the assistant manager to customer service. I am appalled by her attitude considering I only have a a two pound puppy. From now on I will take my business elsewhere. read more

This was my go-to Publix during my 4 years at UF. It's a very small Publix, and it's not in the nicest shopping center. but it always had everything that I needed. The store is a little outdated and rundown décor wise, but the employees are all super nice. Overall it's your typical Publix. read more

Yes, Publix is bright and clean. The twofer deals are usually pretty good. However, I sense a shrinking healthy food section. They used to have them all at the front of the store but now they have dispersed them throughout the "related" sections. I wish that Gainesville had a Central Market or Whole Foods. the Fresh Market is very nice but way overpriced. read more

I made an online preorder to be picked up at 6:30, placed at 5:54. Seems like an ample amount of time for the flat bread to be made. I make it there at 6:15. Patiently waiting, watching workers at the counter standing around. 6:35 comes around. Order still not ready. 6:40 comes around, a worker asks me if I'm waiting for a flat bread. I respond yes. She says she will make it now. I said no thanks. The point of a preorder is that it's to be made before the designated pickup time. Very disappointed for a company that strives for customer experience. read more

The chicken tender sub keeps me shopping at club pub. Add spicy wing sauce and ranch of course.

This is by far the worst publix in Florida. Service is slow and the staff is rude. Sub counter is utterly useless. Avoid at all cost.

Like many other people in the South, I am a loyal fan of Publix. I would stay here so that I had a Publix to visit for my grocery needs. I love the customer service at Publix, which is superb at this location and many others. While we do have multiple locations in Gainesville, this one is the closest to my apartment, so I tend to come here. However, it is also the smallest Publix compared to the other locations in Gainesville. The small size means there are a bit fewer options to choose from, but I still have everything I could ever want. I always have a good experience at Publix, and usually buy Publix-brand groceries as well as their chicken tenders and sweet tea - yum! read more

They are open later than other Publix in the area (11 pm), so that's a plus... otherwise they have a smaller selection of products, especially in the meat section. It's still publix though, so they have great quality and awesome prices... it's just not my favorite location. read more

Good central location. The deli area is fairly quick and the produce is usually well-stocked.

I've come to this location a lot since its closer and convenient for me. What I've noticed is that the products are well stocked, and there is more variety. I can find just about anything I need from the deli to the bakery and to the groceries. We also refer to this location "Frat Publix" due to the many residents in the area. On game weekends you might have to travel to other locations pin case you can't find something. read more

I agree with other posters this publix deli is SO slow. I love publix deli subs and the publix stores in General are great. Staff here always seems lost and ingredients are unprepared. Today is the last time I will try this deli read more

Yesterday, I bought a flan at Publix for my kids, and when I got home, I realized the flan has some kind of mold. Today, I went to the store very concerned to talk to someone and alert about this issue, and to my surprise, the cashier who returned my money told me as a joke "no worries; that's protein". Now I am even more concerned because apparently they did not take this very seriously. It looks like it's a joke to them, or at least to some of them. Very dissapointed! read more

Definitely a quality establishment, but a testament to the fact that Gainesville needs some competition in the super market category. Ever since they bought out Albertson's they've continued to jack up prices while places like Ward's and Sweet Bay have consistently kept prices low. read more

The food is fine, but the service is terrible. I tried to just buy some chicken wings at this location twice, for both times it took forever. There were only one or two people before me, but it took five to fifteen minutes to serve each customer. I waited for the first time, but was late for my class. For the second time, when I got to the line, another people left, shaking his head and said "it takes forever". I should have listened. But I stayed since there was only one person in front of me. He was right. I waited for 10 minutes and have to leave. It is better to go to another Publix location or other stores for deli. I don't feel shopping is a pleasure here. read more

Probably some of the nicest staff! Publix on 34th always makes me feel at home! Everyone is helpful and friendly! So thankful for them! :)

I have ordered probably 30 subs online from this Publix and maybe 3 of them have been ready on time and correctly made. Ordering in-person isn't much better because the line is usually very long. If you don't need anything from the deli, then by all means go to this Publix - the rest of the store is fine. read more

I never write reviews, but I had to share my experience. Right after I purchased several things at this particular Publix, I accidentally dropped a bag filled with 2 glass jars of dip and a few other things. One of the jars shattered on the ground. Suddenly, it seemed like 4 men swarmed the spillage. I was so embarrassed, but they were so nice and replaced everything that I had broken for free. It is hard to find a place that treats its customers so well, even in situations like this where it was my own fault. I always go out of my way to shop at Publix because I am always treated so well as if they really cared about my shopping experience. I wish Publix was in every state, not just in the south. Every time I go there, I have a good experience. Keep up the great work Publix! read more
