Pharmacy is well staffed and managed very good. The staff is so friendly and efficient. I've dealt with many pharmacies over the years and excluding Covid related issues this Publix along with its pharmacy are top shelf. Makes me glad, I trust them with my meds, my info, and they've earned it. Plus the hundreds of surprises BOGO throughout the store, we sometimes get to try new things for 1/2 off that we'd never buy. Sometimes we even become loyal to new stuff and splurge when it goes back to regular price. The store is always CLEAN & smells nice.

Publix always seems to have a good reputation. The staff is always smiling and friendly - and super helpful. This location is kept clean and organized. I stop in for sub sandwiches sometimes and even though they seem to stay busy & can get backed up, I don't mind because I know they are honestly trying their best, even when they get overwhelmed. They continually have sales or specials running, so you can get good deals on the items you need. They also have a nice variety of items that other chain store don't seem to carry.

Publix is an Awesome Grocery store offering a wide variety of International, Handmade, Organic and quality products. I absolutely love this store. It's bright, clean, welcoming, colorful and full of life. Full of Unique products that you can't find anywhere else. The employees are friendly and make you feel welcomed as they walk past you and ask you if you need any assistance finding anything. Also, at the front of every store there is someone preparing a delicious meal called Aprons Cooking which also teaches you how to prepare quality meals at a fraction of the time. My shopping trip starts off by looking at the circular online. From there I match up what is on sale with the digital coupons. I click on my desired coupons and it's loaded to my account which I can use at the register by typing in my phone number. It's super user friendly so it's not difficult to achieve maximizing your shopping dollar. I then drive off to the Summerville Publix (about a mile from my office), the parking lot is clean, well lit and spacey ( plenty of room of lots of shoppers). Even the shopping carts are in pristine condition and there are antibacterial wipes near the buggy stands to allow you to wipe off the handles. I stop by the Aprons Cooking to see what meals are being prepared, take a sample, get a few recipe cards and proceed on to get my groceries. I look around to see what is new and what I can try out next. I love trying new foods and some prove to be beneficial for our health ( a score nonetheless). The check out lines are never long, always a cashier waiting with a smile, and a bagger available to bag your purchases and help load them on to your car. This is my weekly stop and definitely a place to go weekly. I highly recommend Publix as a family friendly grocery store.

I really like the Publix Super Market at Paradise Shoppes of Summerville. This Publix is always clean and well run. I have had a pleasant shopping experience every time I have visited here. The deli and meat department really stands out here. Shopping here really is a pleasure.

If they had a salad bar, I wouldn't have to cheat on them and go to the Lowe's Foods! But they don't. So I do. This Publix is just ok to me mainly because of the layout. The produce section is on the opposite side of the store from the bakery and deli. Makes no sense to me. The one on D Road that I e been shopping at for 20 years, and still use for my prescriptions, has the correct layout. Bakery, deli, produce. All aisle 1. The other thing that I'm not a fan of, and I believe this is all Publix, the self checkout doesn't take cash. Cash is still king in my world! But hey, we can't always get what we want. See you tomorrow Publix!

I must…read moreadmit as a former chef then afterwards living in Kansas City and Austin TX for 25 years and frequenting large grocery stores with almost all of the things I've needed under one roof; I've been very disappointed with almost all the grocery stores here. Publix is about as good as it gets for most of their products but for the more adventurous tastes, it falls a bit short. Lets start with the food service area. I recall my love for their Boar's Head roast beef sandwiches, they were phenomenal! So, when I moved back I made it a priority, big mistake. The veggies were a bit older and the bread very hard. The meat was ok but overall it was lacking. The fried chicken was extremely salty while the "home fries" were cold. Also, the baked chicken as of 11am seemed to be sitting for a LONG time. I understand this is hard to gage but just reporting. I believe a better selection would have been nice. As for the bakery, some of their products are suspect. For instance, the cream cheese Danish had a funky flavor while the "fresh made" CC cookies were extremely dry. Next their selection of cakes and/or pies is limited as well. Moving into the meat selection, I was expecting more. Their options for ribeye were disappointing to say the least. I'm talking about in the display case, not from the butcher. Now I will say the butcher was extremely nice when I wanted some Osso Bucco, even taking some out the freezer and cutting it for me! Customer service is important to them. Publix is also pretty far behind on seasonal or promotional products. So, if you like the "monster cereals" like Booberry, I'm still waiting for it while 2 other chains already have it. New Dorito chips and Mt Dew flavors face the same challenges. That said they do have a good display for suggestive sales and the shelves are well stocked. As for the produce, they have a somewhat large and diverse selection. The mushroom selection is sparse. Want to pick up some woodear, loose shiitake, Oyster, Enoki, etc? Not here my dear, although they do have shitake packaged. I've hunted for exotic fruits such as dragon fruit, Buddha's hand, Star fruit etc but they don't carry it. Otherwise they carry the standard fair which is more in bulk than variety. My overall assessment of Publix is it works well for it's target group, middle class SC families looking for good prices on food that is pretty standard with having some "elegances" spread out enough to allow those who are adventurous to try something new. The shelves are well stocked, the environment clean and safe, and house made items such as breads, tortillas, soups, etc are decent. Publix is a good grocery store for the masses.

I will say there's plenty of parking outside with a very clean parking lot. There isn't too much inventory spilling out into the front of the store, which is oh so trendy, but it's tastefully done. Walking in the place is extremely clean, after some of the places I've been recently, this is very refreshing. I'll get this out of the way up front. I used to be a chef so when I see GMO, Gluten free, etc etc I cringe. There is hardly a definitive Government standard by which all these things are measured. Which means more often than not, it's a scam. If you want the real deal, farmers markets are the best bet. With that I observed the pricing like a hawk and comparable items had roughly a 10% markup. Now then I do love their house made foods. Cooking pizzas to order? Come on that's awesome! Desserts and cheeses are ok although I was a little down on their sliced meats and the variety. Their butcher was ho-hum and not very impressive. But... I spotted something I didn't anticipate Kangaroo, Ostrich and Bison to name a few oddities. I give credit for carrying very unpopular items around Summerville. FYI I've cooked ostrich before. It tastes just like beef only almost all lean meat for those watching your calories. I wondered around some more, noticing they had better cereal alternatives with less sugar. They lacked snacks like coconut crisps, but they did have a great assortment of dried fruits. Although I was impressed with their dried mushroom selection, no dried shiitakes! Generally, I like fresh, which they did have, but I wanted the juice from soaking them. Odd they have other mushrooms but not shiitake. The people here are fantastic. For some reason in my mind when I think of these "hippy" type of stores like Earth Fare I think very grounded and kind people. I wasn't disappointed as I asked the produce guy for something and he was all too eager to help out. If it were me, I would have been more like "check isle 3" or something. The employees are shining examples of down to earth kindness; something we all could use more of in these days. Overall, I like this place based on principal but those same principles are what keep me away. I'm not overly excited about slapping on GMO free labels when most of the time those are just buzz words to make an extra buck. Are there authentic companies out there? Sure but you really have to do your homework. Therefore, I remain committed to farmers markets. That said, I think this place is fine for those who like it. If you haven't been here before and are reading this be prepared for a slight price increase. To reiterate they do have an interesting variety of items greatly depending on specific products. I'm sure if you drop by you wont leave empty handed especially with the quality of people there to help.

I'm going to try the beer, because I can buy in recyclable growlers - and it's tasty. But the attribute I like best is that while it's not silent, there's the usual hubbub, it's quiet enough to have a normal volume conversation with a friend or a group. I must admit as a former chef then afterwards living in Kansas City and Austin TX for 25 years and frequenting large grocery stores with almost all of the things I've needed under one roof; I've been very disappointed with almost all the grocery stores here. So, after my mother convinced me to stop by Lowes I was pleasantly surprised with a chain that "gets it" here in town. Walking in I found the place to be extremely clean with some of the nicest employees I've come across since being back in town. Moreover, they're rather smart; strategically placing fresh baked focaccia bread close to the entrance, enticing one's stomach to influence the power of the purse. Next, I challenge anyone to resist their smoked foods as the air is heavy with the sweet perfume. Please note that Lowes carries a LOT of items customers will NOT find at other stores. From the towns best selection of cheeses, rack of lamb, watermelon radish and on the list continues, I encourage all those reading this to shop this store for those harder to find items. As for instore made items, I've tried a few and would like to report my limited findings. First, I bought a loaf of olive focaccia bread a noted weakness of mine. I found it be pillow-y moistness, bouncing back to the touch with a good fragrance however the amount of rosemary in it will repel even the most persistent of demons (odd refence). I bought another loaf of parmesan and I had the same issue, just way to rosemary which I happen to enjoy. I wish they had an alternative without the herb but other than that it's awesome. Another success in the bakery was the Bavarian donuts which I highly advise not buying as they're downright addictive. Soft, moist and a perfect chocolate to cream ratio these things are illegal in 5 surrounding counties! As for protein, I broke down and got the smoked chicken wings and macaroni salad for lunch. Again, this would be a resounding success if it weren't for one overwhelming ingredient; in this case salt. I'm of the belief they marinated these wings in the dead sea as it tasted as if the cap to the salt shaker fell off when seasoning these wings. Otherwise, these wings hit on all notes as they were moist and had the perfect amount of smoke. As for the mac salad, everyone has their version of what are perfect ingredients so I'll just add this, they perfectly cooked the pasta. That is to say the noodles weren't soggy or cooked to death; rather al dente which is perfect for the summertime favorite. As for addins I think they're ok but that's very subjective. Again, a certified hit. I did grab the sushi one day but I'm not a fan of grocery store sushi for the simple fact that the rice needs to be warm and the fish cold as it creates a contrast in the mouth. That said I got the fried shrimp sushi and it was just like any other store, not great. Nothing taken away as I realize most people are happy with this. My point is if I'm craving sushi a grocery store isn't the first thing that comes to mind as a true restaurant has better quality fish and a more diverse menu. To summarize Lowes is a great place to obtain those harder to find ingredients with the best in store created foods among all the competitors out there. The people here are very nice and willing to help however please note you'll need to obtain a card to get the discounts, the one down side of Lowes, is they're a little more expensive. However, "it's a small price to pay" for leveling up on the quality meter. This is my favorite grocery store in town and it's not even close.
