Ran into Publix at Cane Bay for some goodies as it was starting to rain. I wasn't the only one with this thought as the store was packed. I Was in need of a bathroom before I started shopping and it was right by the door. When I walked into the handicap stall I was impressed that there was a sink in the stall as well. Never seen this before and must say very well thought out for someone with a disability. The bathroom was pretty clean for how busy the store was. It had a door with a latch that worked and was well lit. There was plenty of toilet paper at the time so that wasn't an issue. This store is so busy that you may feel rushed. All in all if you plan on being quick this is a perfectly acceptable bathroom.

So proud of my son, now an employee at this Publix establishment. Absolutely amazed at how much he has matured since this picture.

Stood in line for 10 minutes in the pharmacy pickup line only to have some idiot be taken ahead of me in the prepay line. This is a stupid system and disrespectful to your customers.

Publix Super Market at The Market at Cane Bay on State Road in Summerville is a great place to shop for groceries and more. I really like the location and the level of customer service that they have here. I have had a really good shopping experience every time I have been here.

    Chicken wings that are old

This review is for the deli only. Been living here for 12 years visiting this store and getting food from the deli sometimes but since COVID they don't have enough staff to handle the customers and I called in an order for chicken wings 40 minutes in advance so I could just pick them up. When I got there they were not ready had to wait an additional 15 minutes. Got these chicken wings and they were old and rubbery so needless to say that I won't be coming back. I don't recommend their deli or order service until they can improve things.

I love how everyone is so friendly and they do what they can for the customers, publix fried chicken is amazing. You need to get it early because sometimes it's a hour wait that's how good it is.

Selling 2 days past sell by date. Not so fresh...

As an Instacart shopper, I really appreciate that the managers actually take the time to check in and see if I need help finding anything--it makes a huge difference in my day! From the fresh bakery smell to the incredible produce and meat, they always have exactly what I'm looking for. It's just a great, positive vibe every time I walk in. Highly recommend!

If they had a salad bar, I wouldn't have to cheat on them and go to the Lowe's Foods! But they don't. So I do. This Publix is just ok to me mainly because of the layout. The produce section is on the opposite side of the store from the bakery and deli. Makes no sense to me. The one on D Road that I e been shopping at for 20 years, and still use for my prescriptions, has the correct layout. Bakery, deli, produce. All aisle 1. The other thing that I'm not a fan of, and I believe this is all Publix, the self checkout doesn't take cash. Cash is still king in my world! But hey, we can't always get what we want. See you tomorrow Publix!

Stopping in to Earth Fare I was curious what the place had in store (sorry for the bad pun) to…read moresatisfy my curiosity. I will say there's plenty of parking outside with a very clean parking lot. There isn't too much inventory spilling out into the front of the store, which is oh so trendy, but it's tastefully done. Walking in the place is extremely clean, after some of the places I've been recently, this is very refreshing. I'll get this out of the way up front. I used to be a chef so when I see GMO, Gluten free, etc etc I cringe. There is hardly a definitive Government standard by which all these things are measured. Which means more often than not, it's a scam. If you want the real deal, farmers markets are the best bet. With that I observed the pricing like a hawk and comparable items had roughly a 10% markup. Now then I do love their house made foods. Cooking pizzas to order? Come on that's awesome! Desserts and cheeses are ok although I was a little down on their sliced meats and the variety. Their butcher was ho-hum and not very impressive. But... I spotted something I didn't anticipate Kangaroo, Ostrich and Bison to name a few oddities. I give credit for carrying very unpopular items around Summerville. FYI I've cooked ostrich before. It tastes just like beef only almost all lean meat for those watching your calories. I wondered around some more, noticing they had better cereal alternatives with less sugar. They lacked snacks like coconut crisps, but they did have a great assortment of dried fruits. Although I was impressed with their dried mushroom selection, no dried shiitakes! Generally, I like fresh, which they did have, but I wanted the juice from soaking them. Odd they have other mushrooms but not shiitake. The people here are fantastic. For some reason in my mind when I think of these "hippy" type of stores like Earth Fare I think very grounded and kind people. I wasn't disappointed as I asked the produce guy for something and he was all too eager to help out. If it were me, I would have been more like "check isle 3" or something. The employees are shining examples of down to earth kindness; something we all could use more of in these days. Overall, I like this place based on principal but those same principles are what keep me away. I'm not overly excited about slapping on GMO free labels when most of the time those are just buzz words to make an extra buck. Are there authentic companies out there? Sure but you really have to do your homework. Therefore, I remain committed to farmers markets. That said, I think this place is fine for those who like it. If you haven't been here before and are reading this be prepared for a slight price increase. To reiterate they do have an interesting variety of items greatly depending on specific products. I'm sure if you drop by you wont leave empty handed especially with the quality of people there to help.

Who comes to a grocery store and doesn't buy groceries? Me!…read more I love Lowe's Boxcar Coffee and Beer Den. Tucked into a corner, it's a great place to relax with your favorite beverage. The booths are comfy, plenty of high tops, and a few seats at the bar. The coffee is excellent. I'm a purist, but flavor fanciers will love the available options. I'm going to try the beer, because I can buy in recyclable growlers - and it's tasty. But the attribute I like best is that while it's not silent, there's the usual hubbub, it's quiet enough to have a normal volume conversation with a friend or a group. How nice to have a cuppa with friends, and catch up, without shouting over the TVs, blaring music, and arcade games of most places. Plus, there's fresh pastries just down the aisle...

Located at the intersection of not 1, not 2 but 3, three roads... ha haha ha... (A little Lebron /…read moreThe Count mashup humor there) Lowes can cater to and elevate all of your grocery needs. I must admit as a former chef then afterwards living in Kansas City and Austin TX for 25 years and frequenting large grocery stores with almost all of the things I've needed under one roof; I've been very disappointed with almost all the grocery stores here. So, after my mother convinced me to stop by Lowes I was pleasantly surprised with a chain that "gets it" here in town. Walking in I found the place to be extremely clean with some of the nicest employees I've come across since being back in town. Moreover, they're rather smart; strategically placing fresh baked focaccia bread close to the entrance, enticing one's stomach to influence the power of the purse. Next, I challenge anyone to resist their smoked foods as the air is heavy with the sweet perfume. Please note that Lowes carries a LOT of items customers will NOT find at other stores. From the towns best selection of cheeses, rack of lamb, watermelon radish and on the list continues, I encourage all those reading this to shop this store for those harder to find items. As for instore made items, I've tried a few and would like to report my limited findings. First, I bought a loaf of olive focaccia bread a noted weakness of mine. I found it be pillow-y moistness, bouncing back to the touch with a good fragrance however the amount of rosemary in it will repel even the most persistent of demons (odd refence). I bought another loaf of parmesan and I had the same issue, just way to rosemary which I happen to enjoy. I wish they had an alternative without the herb but other than that it's awesome. Another success in the bakery was the Bavarian donuts which I highly advise not buying as they're downright addictive. Soft, moist and a perfect chocolate to cream ratio these things are illegal in 5 surrounding counties! As for protein, I broke down and got the smoked chicken wings and macaroni salad for lunch. Again, this would be a resounding success if it weren't for one overwhelming ingredient; in this case salt. I'm of the belief they marinated these wings in the dead sea as it tasted as if the cap to the salt shaker fell off when seasoning these wings. Otherwise, these wings hit on all notes as they were moist and had the perfect amount of smoke. As for the mac salad, everyone has their version of what are perfect ingredients so I'll just add this, they perfectly cooked the pasta. That is to say the noodles weren't soggy or cooked to death; rather al dente which is perfect for the summertime favorite. As for addins I think they're ok but that's very subjective. Again, a certified hit. I did grab the sushi one day but I'm not a fan of grocery store sushi for the simple fact that the rice needs to be warm and the fish cold as it creates a contrast in the mouth. That said I got the fried shrimp sushi and it was just like any other store, not great. Nothing taken away as I realize most people are happy with this. My point is if I'm craving sushi a grocery store isn't the first thing that comes to mind as a true restaurant has better quality fish and a more diverse menu. To summarize Lowes is a great place to obtain those harder to find ingredients with the best in store created foods among all the competitors out there. The people here are very nice and willing to help however please note you'll need to obtain a card to get the discounts, the one down side of Lowes, is they're a little more expensive. However, "it's a small price to pay" for leveling up on the quality meter. This is my favorite grocery store in town and it's not even close.

About the only thing I like about this store is the bar with live music some days but makes me think what kind of wine am I getting. Tons of parking, of course, it is a large grocery chain. Parking is shared with other businesses in the area. The store parking lot and inside were extremely clean and well laid out. Granted, this is a new location, but you can see the hard work that the team put in to keep the store looking fantastic. Don't you love it when a business team member goes out of their way to make things right? That's exactly what the very nice lady at the bakery did this morning (I did not catch her name). She went out of her way to find me some bran muffins, and cracked open a package that had already been sealed from their bakery, Just so that I could have that Muffin! How cool is that?! Walking around at the store, I was asked by three different team members if I needed help. Awesome and appreciated! The deli and hot food service is the bomb! Fresh and hot and great selection. The fresh produce department was beautiful as always, seems to be the case with Harris Teeter. We will be coming back to this store specifically because of this interaction and experience.
