That was, until a Black Friday ad showed up on our TV and my hub called out, "Hon, come look at this chair." "Yeah, it could work," I casually replied. I had a plan. First thing, Small Business Saturday, I stopped into J&K Furnishings in the Belle Hall Shopping Center (Long Point Road) as soon as it opened. I was approached immediately by Karen who took me over to the advertised chair. She was knowledgeable and patient, even knowing that there would be no sale. I was there just to check out the chair. Yes, it was comfortable, genuine buttery leather, priced well and was exactly what I wanted. I told Karen that I'd be back the next day with my husband. We returned on Sunday and worked with Ryan who also was patient and low key. He closed the sale. We both appreciated that he did not try to upsell a higher priced chair or other items. We actually asked for a protection plan. Delivery was set and confirmed with an automated phone call. The drivers called as they were on the way. The chair is perfect ... even our our fur son approves! The entire experience was easy. If you're looking to feather your nest, or freshen up tired decor, be sure to check out J&K. There were five of us making decisions, all also remote from each other. Not an easy assignment but Karen was enthusiastic and encouraging all along the way. Karen guided us with Power Point slides of all our choices for our review. Her assistant Emily is equally wonderful and competent. When we finally got to Mt Pleasant to sign papers and make final fabric/rug choices, Karen and Emily were so well organized that we finished in record time with no drama. The store is beautiful with a HUGE showroom floor and many sales. You can't go wrong with this store of Karen. We will be back to buy more after we move into our new home.

We parked in the back and they were getting a delivery and the guys told us we could enter the back way. OMG!!! I fell in love at first sight at these two matching blue printed chairs. No question that they will be coming home with us. As we walked on through we actually got assistance another good thing. We than picked out a dresser for our Master bedroom and a console for our family room. We were led outside to another location that had dining tables. We saw one we wanted but not the right size so we ordered the table and four chairs and two chairs they had we got. So it was a love fest while checking out we got octopus decorative bookends and two glass octopus as well. The bad news minus a star they don't deliver. However they do assist in finding someone who will do it at an additional cost$$$$$$. Several months later the same delivery person delivered the table and four chairs. Very happy with our purchase as well as design advice. Would highly recommend to anyone shopping for furniture.

When I picked it up, it was it centered the way I asked and the gal at the counter said it was her fault and apologized. Fine. The quality of the embroidery was very poor, you could see the white shirt through the blue thread in several areas. In addition, the lower case "j" was dotted but not the lower case "i". When I pointed these two things out, the employees (not the one who apologized) got rude and belligerent as if it was somehow my fault that rules of writing small letters exist. The gentleman kept asking me what I wanted him to do about it. I replied, I just want you to fix it. He threw up his hands and stomped to the back room. This left the poor lady behind the counter looking embarrassed and I felt terrible for her. She looked at me and said I am not sure what to do. I told her a good start would be to refund my money which she did, again with an apology. When I got home, we realized that the monograming was so off center it was in the back of the cuff so would not be seen by anybody and again, terribly off center. I am not clear how when a customer shows you a picture of exactly what they want, you do it so horribly wrong. The shirt is ruined as, if you take the thread out, the shirt will have hundreds of holes. I reached out to these folks and suggested that they replace the shirt and have heard nothing. Perhaps they feel that since they are the only game in town they can afford to treat customers this way. Perhaps they are just rude people. I will not use them again (there are other games in town) and, I will never recommend them. Do yourself a favor and do not use them. Not only is the work shoddy, the people apparently are as well.

To make a long story short, the salesperson would only communicate via email or text, refusing to speak to me personally to rectify the issue. After expending more time & energy trying to track her down, I was forced to contact the owner, Bryan Mudrak. Ultimately, we came to a compromise from what we had ordered, but it wasn't without considerable back & forth & wasn't completed until 10 weeks after our original install. The salesperson who sold the unit evidently was not educated on how the product was manufactured & I certainly didn't appreciate the owner insisting that it was a special order and insinuated that it was my fault. Mistakes happen, but their cavalier attitude towards customers is appalling. There are too many places where you can have these pieces made correctly, so my advice is to go elsewhere!
