A meal prepared with all the ingredients purchased at Publix (including the Prime steak)
George M.

It's really painful for me to write this review about Publix on Palm Beach, because I prefer to shop at local specialty shops. So, think of this Publix as a market composed of several local shops under one roof (I said to myself). My primary gripe for years has been that it is difficult to balance quality with quantity or quality with low price. Even Ben Franklin had the same trouble a couple of centuries ago allegedly causing him to have said: "The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten" Publix's Palm Beach meat department has created retail alchemy by achieving what most--including yours truly--thought it impossible to achieve: good quality and low price, especially during this time of "transient" inflation. I regularly buy at Publix's PB outpost, USDA Prime beef steaks (and on occasion have the steaks cut to my specs Typically 2.5 inches thick)) at around $19 bucks a pound on average. Other shops both on and off "The Island" charge anywhere from $27 - $35 around for the same USDA grade of meat. I bought both and I could not discern a difference, except in my wallet. The deli is a hit and miss depending on who is working that day. Most of the time the deli staff is first-rate. I like my deli meats ultra-thin (unlike me). So thin that some meats like prosciutto tend to stick together or crumble like Boar's Head branded deluxe cooked ham. Whatever. I like the meat ultra-thin. However, my preference on how my cold cuts are sliced is typically a pain in the derriere for deli staff (I know firsthand because I worked at a busy deli many, many moons ago). Some simply ignore my request/pleas and slice the meat however they please but not before they first dispense some attitude. I blame the store manager for not properly training these outliers but I'm also cognizant that there is an ongoing bono fide labor shortage. My experience with the rest of the store's staff has always been fantastic. Publix on PB is large enough to have a sampling of all the products that I frequently use but not necessarily my favorite brands. This is especially true of olive oils and with ethnic foods. For example, they have a very small selection of Greek olive oils but they don't carry Iliada, which in my humble opinion is the best Kalamata EVOO (and no I'm not from that part of Greece). Fruits and veggies are almost always fresh. Great selection of fresh greens too. What else can a wannabe chef trapped inside a former banker's body want or need?

Publix Popcorn. So yummy.

I always love Publix. Very nice store with seriously awesome variety of yummy items. Also very rarely a wait and very friendly staff. It is tough to review a publix but I will say I always enjoy grocery shopping there. Don't forget to pick up some popcorn!

Wow. Awesome grocer. Almost rivals Heinen's back in Cleveland! A tad higher prices than Ohio, but hey, it's Palm Beach. Love it. Will return often to replenish.

Best architectural Publix you will find with valet parking. No signs due to PAlm beach rules so you have to know where it is. Not the biggest but still a great stop for things you need for you Bungalo.

Yup that black umbrella is the valet!

Still new to Publix world this one is so wrong...what kind of supermarket has a valet parking!? Is this Middle East? So food selection is awesome, coming from crappy NYC supermarket this is great, isles are wide enough for regular cart or your massive SUV.

This Publix apparently sells Hot & Spicy non-breaded chicken wings.... with Feathers! I was eating these wings and came across one with a feather fried into it. This cannot be sanitary. Shame on you Publix!

The deli is the best especially if I need to grab a quick bite (PUB SUB), they are so much faster then the one in downtown West Palm Beach.

Sultan's Coffee Shop & Market suffers from multiple personality disorder that ultimately benefits…read moreits patrons. It is a combination of exotic food market, bodega and coffee shop. Missing are some tables to enjoy the multitude of middle-eastern coffees and teas and foodstuff available to the patron fortunate enough to enter. I purchased a Mega Millions ticket, a mango infused white chocolate bar, a pan of frozen Turkish spinach burek (phyllo dough filled pie) and enjoyed a tea of Turkish Earle Gray tea mixed with some other equally exotic variety. But not before Masis, the proprietor, gave me a tour of this culinary Mecca, in similar fashion to the Anatolian hospitality I received when I last visited the Grand Bazar of the Levant. And what a tour it was! Freshly stocked shelves with goodies from the orient: wines, teas, coffees, Turkish delights; frown pies; frozen doner kebabs; olive oils; olives; etc. etc. etc. While the address is listed as S. Olive Ave because Sultan's is located in that building (Two City Plaza), its entrance is on Lakeview Avenue off S. Olive Avenue. Look for the multi colored illuminated "Open" sign. I plan on going back today to buy frozen chicken adana--processed and packaged in the US. Masis said that I wouldn't know the difference between freshly carved donor and the frozen variety. He's probably correct but we shall see...
