This Publix location is really nice! Most of the time it isn't packed and they always have items stocked. The pub subs are really delicious, although I recommend ordering ahead of time, especially if it's around lunchtime. They did have a student discount for a while, but they current don't, so that's why I'm only giving them 4 stars. Staff is helpful and friendly! read more

Best part about this location is the covered garage parking (esp. in this summer heat) and elevator up (if you need it) I usually take the stairs if I can. The location is almost always busy and parking spots may be hard to come by. Inside it's clean, easy to navigate, and yet, over priced. I only come when I can't find what I need elsewhere because I know I will be paying more here. read more

This is my local grocery store- aka closest to my house. Always has the things I need - except chicken tenders for Pub Subs. Literally never been a single time where there was any chicken fingers left. And it's not like I go late. People are nice enough. Produce is always fresh. I feel safe walking to and from my car. I did unfortunately get a rotisserie chicken not long ago that had MAAAAANY feathers (or the feather "bones") still in it, which has ruined rotisserie chicken entirely for me. But overall, it's close. It's safe enough. The people are pleasant and the store is clean. read more

When I tell you that this is my happy place, I am not joking at all. I had a terrible day earlier this week, and the first location that came to mind was this Publix for good reason. Unlike several other Publix in the area, this particular one on 8th Ave. S is not adjacent to other big box stores. That means you don't get the manic feeling which arises from crowds of erratic shoppers at all hours of the day. Further, you still get that "je ne sais quoi" of Publix workers: how are they always so darn hospitable? Company culture is everything, and you feel some sort of way after being greeted and checked out by a Publix employee. There's no other way to say it: you feel cared for by your grocery store. Brand new and still shining, this Publix has far wider aisles than the new location downtown, meaning that those of us worried about social distancing during the age of COvid can breathe a little easier. All employees are wearing face masks and shields. They still offer paper, plastic, and reusable bags. This particular location has a huge parking garage as well as both stairs and elevators leading to the main shopping floor from the garage. Workers sanitize all the carts, and you can grab one at your leisure upon the first floor landing, fresh out of the elevator. Each aisle and section is incredibly well organized. The produce is always fresh, and they have such considerate variety. Organic, fair trade coffee from Nicaragua? You got it. Celiac? They have your favorite snacks. Publix is a store for the people, this one in particular. read more

I am a fan of Publix. I dig how consistently clean their stores are. This location is pretty big and the parking is easy. All the cashiers I've gotten have been friendly. And while they don't stock some of my favorite items, in general I find what I need and can find some deals too. read more

Had a wonderful experience at this Publix today.. great deals and even better customer service! The guy at self checkout informed me of the student discount & I was able to get 20 bucks off of my groceries. Everyone was so nice & even the other shoppers seemed to be in high spirits.. thank you Publix on 8th for truly putting my faith back in humanity on a Thursday afternoon! Will be back.. Although I came here for beer, and the beer selection was great. I decided to pick up some cookies from the bakery. Best by date was 4 days from the date of purchase. Once we got back to our AirBnB - I tried a cookie after eating dinner and it was rock solid. I could have made the 5 minute trip to return or exchange, since Publix allows that.... it wasn't worth the $6. If I were to ever come back to this Publix I will avoid the bakery. read more

We visited this new Publix location on 8th Ave. S (just across the street from the Melrose Hattie B's) yesterday when we saw cars pulling in and out of the parking garage and realized it had opened. Full disclosure - I'm originally from Texas - a state that doesn't have Publix - so I'm not a Publix loyalist like a lot of my friends (especially locals) in Nashville. I find that Publix locations generally have less variety in groceries than other stores, so I find that I definitely have to supplement my shopping there with trips to and purchases from other markets and stores. But Publix is my go to store for the bulk of my regular grocery shopping. This location is brand new, so it's bright and clean - sparkling new. It's not huge, but it didn't feel tighter or smaller than other Publix locations I've been to. It has a two-floor parking garage beneath the store, so parking seems to be taken care of! (From the parking, there are several elevators - and a flight of stairs - that are large enough for shopping carts; so you can bring your groceries down in the elevator to your car.) This location is new, but otherwise it seems like a pretty standard Publix to me. Totally fine store to do your shopping at if you live in the area and prefer Publix to the Kroger in the area. read more

This is my favorite grocery store in the neighborhood by far. The store is always clean. The shopping carts are in tip-top shape. The employees are extraordinarily friendly and very helpful. Shelves are always fully stocked, and I've noticed this Publix carries a wider variety of products than other grocery stores. The prices are a tad higher than competitors, but it's worth it for an enjoyable and satisfying experience. read more

I usually give this place a great review but a manager Jackie changed that today. She asked me to leave the premisis though I didn't do anything but buy some food and enjoy the patio. I am disabled and use a electric cart. U was told to leave though there was 2 other carts available. I come to this publix because the employees are usually very nice and help me to get to products. I have posted many great reviews. Can't understand why this manager would treat me so bad. read more

I LOVE this place!!! It's transformative in the neighborhood. The u-scans always work, the staff is friendly, the staff knows where to find stuff, the shelves are stocked, the prices align with the items above them on the shelves, the store is clean. Such a difference from the Kroger up the street (where the staff is generally friendly except for a few....). Oh! And covered parking! Also, a lovely produce department. Seriously. Worst Publix experience ever. This was my first experience at this Publix and will be my last. I thought because I was on that side of town and I always go to my local Publix it would be a great experience. This was not the case. I went to the deli counter and they were out of every choice I wanted. When I decided what I wanted out of the options available I told the employee and patiently waited. Then another employee, clearly on break, came up and leaned across the counter and said something to the employee working the counter. The employee working the counter then stopped, walked over and made lunch for the employee on break at the fresh sandwich area of the deli counter. Only after finishing the employee lunch for their friend did they come back and start slicing my order. When I asked for a manager to voice my issues with, the deli manager was less than apologetic and seemed very insincere. I should have just left at that point but decided to continue my shopping only to find they were out of all 1/2 gallons of milk. Due to my less than satisfactory conversation with the deli manager I decided not to ask for a manager about the milk. Then I went to check out and only one actual lane was open with a line. The only other check out option was self check out was also full and had multiple people waiting in line. This was not the experience I expect from Publix and inexcusable poor customer service. I'll never go back to this location! read more

I wanted to like this Publix, as we are always planning large parties and it is so close to us, but the service I had today was extremely disappointing. There was one aisle open for checkout, so I went to the self checkout with my cart since I was on a time crunch. Most of the items were for a party that I'm splitting the cost with with some friends, so I was going to do a separate order for those items. As I'm finished with the first order, a man in a suit with a scraggly salt and pepper goatee/beard raises his eyebrows, smirks, and says to me, "umm...did you forget to scan a few items?" As if I was trying to steal some paper plates and coffee pods. I told him I was doing a separate order for a party and he continued to hover around me until I finished the last order. Out of all the people to belittle and make feel like a convict, a pregnant woman trying to bag her mass amounts of groceries while multiple workers are standing around with minimal aisles open, is NOT one of them. We will not be coming back here. read more
