Went to grab a sandwich for lunch, because of all the hype around the viral Publix chicken sandwiches/salads. This location is very nice. Plenty of parking and excellent customer service. All the workers i interacted with were so nice and made small talk with me. I was a little disappointed. There was a Nashville native who even recommended me to get the buffalo chicken sandwich. Don't get me wrong, the sandwich is filling and the bread was soft, but the chicken was a little underwhelming. It needed some seasoning. The buffalo sauce on the chicken was not very flavorful. Never in my life have I received a sandwich so vile, so rank, or so disgusting. How long we have waited for a delicious "Pub Sub" but were unfortunately delivered a subpar sub. The bread, oh the bread! Toasted, we ordered. Unfortunately, our sandwich supporters were DRENCHED in the most abhorrent moisture, seemingly leeched from the depths of the wet and stale ingredients. I would have much rather eaten my grandmother's shower loofah after it had soaked in old bath water for months. How one can make such a wet "sandwich" turn dry as one bites it is a miracle of science I suppose I will never understand. I would not call this sandwich "hot and fresh," but rather "hot nor fresh." By far the best grocery store in Nashville! I recently moved here and was dedicated to our New England chain. This Publix has answered all my grocery store prayers! The store is well organized and clean. The selection is pretty standard for a large chain store, but I must say they keep the shelves stocked better than I've seen, especially during busy times. The staff is always remarkably friendly. They say hello or good morning while you pass, offer recommendations, and will even help bring your groceries to the car. If you go to a full service check out they'll ring the bell if customers allow for good service, then the rest of the staff with applaud! Only downside is the parking. The layout of the lot is very tight during busy times. There's is garage parking available for overflow. read more

4.5 Before I realized that Harris Teeter was absorbed by the borg, I assumed that the location off Harding closed because this Publix was so awesome. Whatever the Publix folks are doing, other chains should probably take notice. With the exception of Miami-area Publix's (which, to be fair, are problematic because of where they're located, not the brand), I have never failed to be impressed by this chain. I don't understand the complaints about parking. There's a gigantic parking lot in front of the [redacted] store. Short of prepping for the zombie apocalypse, I can't imagine not finding a spot. And once you park, things just get better. Not only is the building clean and brightly-lit, the aisles are large and the product is nicely organized. The grocery store makes sense so there's no aimless wandering about trying to find this or that. A thought process went in to making sure the shopping experience was a positive one and the fruit of that forethought is seen in the crowds of folks shopping here every day. But for the distance from my home, this might be my one-and-only grocery shopping destination. read more

I have been going to this Publix since it opened. I have always liked it and I know where things are so can get in and out quickly, if I want to. Sometimes I just take my time and look around. Things about it I like are: convenient for me, garage parking which I always use (rain, heat, cold, convenient), great pharmacy, good selection, nice deli with good prepared salads, etc., and employees who will take the time to help you. I like to eat out, and do often, so I don't buy a lot there, but am usually in a couple of times a week. Though I said that it has a good selection, I go to Kroger's on the rare occasion when I can't find what I need at Publix. That visit always brings me back. Prices are probably a bit higher, but since I don't buy a lot, I don't care. I have wondered recently about the turnover which seems to have increased. Several of my favorite cashiers are gone though the new ones are just fine. I am happy to see that Steve, the Apron, is still there cooking up his daily item. Sometimes that makes lunch or dinner for me! As a side note, when I moved to the Seattle area for six years beginning in 1990, the grocery stores in Nashville were run-down and tired. I was amazed at the wonderful groceries out there. Stores like Publix have helped raise the standards here in Nashville which I appreciate. read more

A very nice Publix. Had it been here before I started shopping at the Kroger less than a mile away, this might be my local grocer. Trying to park in the front lot can be a comedy though. In my most recent visit I thought I was on a hidden camera show! Every time I spied a spot, it was gone by the time I got to it! Save yourself the frustration and park in the covered lot nearby. Quite possibly the best grocery store I have thus far set foot in. The fresh produce aisles shoulder a freshly prepared food bar with ample seating and, get this, free wifi. While this was my first time visiting a Publix, I was impressed by the organization and professional staff. Unlike other stores I've been to, the aisles and floors were pristine to the point that it would even earn my mother's seal of approval. I mostly perused their fresh fruits and vegetables. Even for this frugalista, the options were plentiful at great prices. Publix carries several brands as well as an in-store brand for most packaged goods as well, so I was eager to stock up on quality products. I cannot say enough about the friendly staff, even cheerful on an early Sunday morning. The only downside I can think of is that this particular Publix is difficult to get to from the main street, and parking is peculiar at best in the lot. Of all the salad bars that I've tried in Nashville, and I think I've hit them all, this one is by far the very best. They don't have the huge selection of items available other places might offer that cause you to overbuild and over pay but they do have everything you need. It's all very fresh, the lettuce blends are exceptional and their pasta salads delicious. The deli staff keeps everything well supplied and clean throughout the day and are incredibly pleasant even during the lunch rush. Hats off to this bunch, they never disappoint! read more

This Publix is hands down my favorite grocery store. I will drive past other grocery stores in order to shop at this one instead. Aside from having any standard groceries that one could want, there are many specific reasons why I love them. I think I shall list. 1. The ambiance somehow makes me think that I should be a 1950s housewife. This appeals to me. It's perfect. The lighting is good, there's pleasant music, the aisles are wide enough to maneuver a cart around someone else's cart, and it's always clean. Spotless, really. I almost feel like I should wear a shirt-dress, pearls, apron, and kitten heels when I shop here. And I may or may not have done just that. On purpose. Clearly for you to decide. 2. They have the most delicious flavors of store brand yogurt. Specifically, I love the coffee, caramel, and honey almond flavors. Yum. I think I'll go get one from my fridge right now. 3. The employees are super friendly. Every time I go to this store, someone will ask me if they can help me find something. Or if I want them to split that package of pork chops. And they always, always offer to take your groceries to your car and unload your cart. 4. They frequently have buy one-get one free sales. And you can check them online before you actually go to the store if you're so inclined. read more

The relationship I have with the Publix in Belle Meade has blossomed over the last year. This morning, I called in preparation for a small gathering and ordered a few deli trays. At 8am Adam at the deli was on point to take my order. I love their online interface where you can basically plan an entire party with a few clicks of your mouse. Then when you call everyone involved is on the same page. Oh, and the delicious fruit tray that I ordered is around $26 which I do not think I could recreate for cheaper on my own. The thing I love most about Publix and that makes them stand out from the rest of the grocery world is the customer service. Time and time again I am impressed with how their employees interact with us as the consumer. For example Adam asked when I would like to pickup said trays as the deadline for pickup not when they would have them ready. Go Publix! Or go home. read more

Publix is a top of the line supermarket in general, but this particular location is as good as it gets! The store is sparkling clean, spacious and bright and the employees are incredibly helpful and willing to go out of the way to find what you need. It's kind of a blast from the past going into a Publix store; it's what I imagine many of the grocery stores in the '50s might have been like! I love that Publix has a huge selection of fresh organic produce and other organic/natural goods - it makes me feel like I don't need to go to Whole Foods as often! I also love their deli that has the best quality meats and the bakery offering up fresh and tasty pastries, bagels, and cakes. Some people complain that Publix is too expensive. False! You are just getting what you pay for, plus they have weekly specials and great deals going on (just check the ad paper). read more

I don't know how Publix does it, but they manage to turn any parking lot they own into a nightmare of gridlock and congestion with only 2 or 3 cars attempting to park That said, this Publix is probably the best of the lot. The employees to be extremely happy and helpful, the store is well lit and stocked. The prices are good, although not as good as they'd have you believe. I love me some Publix. First introduced to this store when working in Florida and it is my go to place for a quick lunch. The sandwich selection is great and the sides are fantastic. Unfortunately they have yet to make their way to the great state of Texas. Living in Nashville now I do get to take advantage of the perks of this store. Here lately I have been driving and extra 10 minutes just for their shopping experience. The store is new, fresh and inviting. They have a great selection and the staff always seems to be there to ask if I need something. Maybe it's the bewildered look on my face??? :-/ They always seem to get me with their sales as I'm walking through the store. They really do have some great deals. read more

I'm from Texas and usually shop at Kroger, Sprouts or Whole Foods for on-sale produce. The prices at this store were amazingly high. I had to look around only for deals in order to get essentials while visiting Tennessee (and had to improvise, like getting $1.49/lb frozen turkey, of course ice/preserving solution included, instead of chicken). Organic lettuce was $2.99 and regular lettuce was $2.99. That's pretty odd, I think. And many more similar prices on regular everyday items. Meat is super expensive -- the cheapest I saw was bone-in skin-on chicken thighs for $1.99/lb. Very difficult to shop for weekly groceries at this store. I'm hoping to find other options in Tennessee. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this Publix. I drive almost 10 miles to do my grocery shopping and in doing so pass a few Krogers to get here. The store is clean, well-organized, and well-stocked. There are also great deals on items that I actually buy, and you don't have to use a rewards card or buy 2 of an item to get the special. The employees often go above and beyond to make sure that their clients are well taken care of. For example, one day I was browsing the cheese aisle in the deli section and a deli manager asked me if I had any questions. I was looking for a good cheese for a burger. The one I had in my hand apparently didn't melt very well, but he let me know it was absolutely delicious on a cheese plate. Three minutes later, he brought over to me a ridiculously generous sized sample of the cheese to try while I browsed the store. Another time in the fruit section of the store, I casually asked an employee cutting up fruit if he could put together a fruit salad of just strawberries and pineapple. As annoying as a request as that was, he was all smiles and answered with a "no problem!" I will continue to be a loyal patron of Publix as I feel they do the best job in town at a lower or similar price. read more

Now this is a grocery store. I keep forgetting that I'm in the South. I'm still not fully acclimated to how friendly everyone is. When I came in here, every employee asked me if I needed help. I'd say at least 6 people asked me within my first 15 minutes. (It could also be their theft-deterrent; I always carry an empty backpack with me because I walk and bus everywhere.) At any rate, I was impressed with how big the place is. Twenty aisles, perhaps? The produce selection was terrific. Lots of meat. The fishmonger was knowledgeable about where their stock comes from. I spent a good hour at least, just enjoying the selection in their entire store. While this place is a half a mile farther than another place I recently reviewed, it is worth the bus trip for me. read more

It's hard not to love Publix in general, but this is easily the nicest Publix around. They have a sit-down deli, an amazing arrangement of fresh sushi, and their ethnic food section is huge!! Not to mention they have a parking garage for when the weather is less than desirable. I walked in today and every staff member smiled and said "hello" as they walked past or stocked the aisles. The sushi chef asked if I needed anything made to order. It was like walking into grocery heaven. This Publix tops any other Publix I have ever been in. Its very new, very clean and the staff are very nice. There is even a parking garage under the store so you can go get a sub when its raining. I don't understand why this Publix is so popular... It's located at a very busy intersection so getting in and out is no fun. The parking situation just plain sucks... Parking is very limited. There is garage parking, but it requires a bit of a trek to get to the door. The garage is crowded, tight and kinda creepy. It's very dark. As for the Publix itself, it's stocked to the brim, and the employees are helpful and cheerful - just like every other Publix I have ever been to. I love their customer service! Knowing that I can receive that same pleasant Publix experience elsewhere, I think I'll stick to my beloved Charlotte Pike and Hwy 70 locations where there is ample parking and much less traffic! read more

Publix has never let us down and this location was no different. We first fell in love with this chain in Fort Lauderdale and we have been thinking about it ever since. I can't thank the wonderful pharmacy staff at Publix so much (and not just this location but several others as well). They are so helpful and the prices for filling prescriptions can't be beat. This is a nice grocery store. I've been in Whole Foods-land for so many months that I rarely go to the "normal" grocery stores anymore. Publix tells me it's ok to... This Publix is only a few years old, plus it's in a very nice part of town. There are usually a few fun samples set out, including a cooked-to-order sample station. (I'm not sure what the hours are on this!) All I know is that I REALLY don't like going to Kroger (even the fancy ones), so I don't pay much attention to prices at Publix, even though the word is that they're somewhere between Kroger (least) and Harris Teeter (most). It's pretty easy to find everything - except it did take me a while to find the organic produce section today. Once again, haven't been to the store in a long time... They have a fish section, which is nice. I've been in groceries in the area which do NOT have a fresh fish section! Doesn't sit well with me. Just a few misses today - no organic red peppers, a seemingly limited selection of dairy-substitutes (Doesn't a green tea soy milk exist somewhere else??), and no soy yogurt other than the baby soy yogurt. Oh, Publix... I adore you. You would think the employees here made some type of commission due to how nice that are to everyone. This is truly a one stop shop! You can find fresh produce, great meats, decent selection of olives and cheese and plenty of organic items here. BOGO deals are what keeps me coming back every week. Living in a house where we try to cook a lot but end up eating out during the week quite often, you can buy just one of the BOGO deals and get it half off. If it's something I eat/drink a lot of (almonds, granola, La Croix, bottled water, etc) then I stock up big time. Using coupons on your one half priced item, you get it practically for free! read more

I am a loyal Publix shopper and this particular store is my preferred local location (of 2 nearby), which means I'm there at least once a week and I use the pharmacy often. The location is clean, the staff are very helpful and friendly, and there are several staff members who recognize my children (ages 3 and 8 months) and me by now. That being said, I have two complaints about recurring issues that are both irritating and seriously problematic: - I am at least 0-for-5 in the last 6 months in getting to use the family restroom within 5 minutes or at all. Any mom of multiple small children knows it is just not easy to cart everybody into the main restrooms, and being able to get everyone (including yourself) taken care of in one spot is tremendously valuable. My first issue was that each time we'd walk up, it would be occupied and, minutes later, a staff member would come out. I did voice a complaint to customer service member and, hopefully, word went to a manager. After that complaint, the restroom was out of order. After that, it was locked for at least 15 minutes. Possibly still out of order? But during that time I did see another poor mom with her cart full of kids trying to get in. Come on, Publix. You're better than this. - The pharmacy: The staff is great in person - no complaints there - but when a doctor calls in a prescription, you're supposed to get a timely call telling you when it's been filled. Five months ago I got mastitis. Any nursing mama will tell you how awful it is. Men, it's like the flu plus every time you take a step someone stabs you in the chest. My doctor called in a prescription two hours before the pharmacy closed. I couldn't go to the store and wait because I was running a fever with two small children in my care so I waited... and waited... Finally I called the pharmacy only to find out that had just closed. I had my doctor call it into Walgreens only to discover that Publix's pharmacy had actually filled the prescription and I just didn't get a phone call which meant that Walgreens couldn't process it to my insurance so I had to pay $90 for the antibiotic. (During business hours the following day I was able to close out the prescription at Publix and process a refund at Walgreens.) But what if I didn't have a credit card or $90 in the bank?? I would be stuck with a serious infection, possibly landing me in the ER. (Again, men, this is a thing that happens with mastitis.) That's completely unacceptable. I've since learned to just announce my presence in-store and get my shopping done while I wait, but I know the automated call is still ineffective. This morning I sent my husband to pick up a prescription for my son at 9am. At 11am I received the automated call that my prescription had been filled. Thanks for nothing, Publix. Two stars given because in my experience most Publixes are clean and have friendly staff, so it doesn't put them comparably ahead given the faults listed. read more
