Walmart has a rep for being the wild west of grocery stores- it's well known that you never know…read morewhat to expect upon walking into a Wally World. Be that as it may, I have always had really good experiences with this Mulberry location. I actually choose to drive the extra 15 minutes to this Walmart rather than the closer South Lakeland one. I typically do drive up orders for my groceries as again, going into a Walmart you never know what you might see or experience so I do my best to limit possible interactions. The Walmart app is super easy to navigate and I always have a great experience using the drive up here. Typically at most I'll wait a few minutes- I have never seen more than a few cars at a time here and I've come at various times of day and days of the week. I think there's been one time I waited maybe 15-20 minutes for my order and I was shocked it took that long. For comparison, at the South Florida location it typically takes AT LEAST 40 minutes to get your order because it's so crazy. So driving the extra time here actually still saves me time versus going to the Walmart that's closer to me. The math shouldn't math. When I have weathered going into this Walmart, it's usually good. It's a clean store that's typically well-stocked (the South Lakeland one is often harboring empty shelves and missing things, this Mulberry one is not so). It also has a lot of offerings for a Walmart in a small town- the classic eye clinic, a McDonalds, and even a whole hair salon. I have a disposable camera I use frequently as I am still old school and love the vintage look of film prints, and I take my film here to be developed. They actually do a great job and have a quick turnaround, as well as a supplying a digital version of the photos. I have tried places like CVS and Walgreens to develop film too and end up coming back to Walmart because it's just a better process. Lastly, mostly all the workers here have been really cool. Luz who works in the electronics is so sweet and helpful. I wish I knew the names of the drive up workers because every single one of them is always so friendly and nice even just in the few minutes we cross paths. I am not a Walmart fan, but I am a fan of this particular Walmart.

I'm not object to a quick snack found at a local grocery store and my memories of Publix were…read morealways of higher end products and a wide selection of everything from sugar free oatmeal to 5 different kinds of Wensleydale Cheese and beyond. I got lost on my way to St. Augustine (even though it's clearly marked on the highway-I know) and took a detour after visiting the Harley Davidson jamboree. A bright green sign luring me in with "Brown Rice Sushi Now Available" caught my attention and my little Scooby Doo ears perked up and I was hooked. I walked in, got some decent sushi, peeked at the pate (which according to my memory, was pretty good) and reminisced living in the south and loving cooking at home because of all the awesome finds I had at the local Publix. I bought a variety of junk foods to keep me fueled on my trip to St. Augustine and the check out counter just blew my mind! People in Florida may be used to seeing an awesome personalized checkout screen for them and the cashier but I'm not and I was blown away by the technology. Score 1 for Florida, 0 for California....

Pix has both national-brand and Publix-brand snacks and drinks. They don't carry Boars Head or a full deli case, but you can get a Publix sub here! Their restrooms are clean, accessible, and spacious. Each is exactly the same as a Publix "family restroom", which makes it bizarrely inefficient that neither is marked as such.
