Waiting for service at the deli counter at Publix is like falling into a black hole. Time stops. NOTHING HAPPENS. When I visit (which happens with less and less frequency), more than half the time I leave without buying anything. Today was the last straw: It was about 3:30 and the lone deli person was s-l-o-w-l-y filling an order. After an interminable period of time, another deli person walked past me; I asked her for the single item I wanted - a half-pound of sliced cheese, white, Publix brand. On her way back out of the deli area, she mumbled something like, "the other lady'll help you." Then pffft - she was gone. I tried to read her name tag, but could note only that it was three letters long - she was in the deli area, I would estimate, for about 30 to 45 seconds. If the store can't do better, just shut the counter down now instead of letting it die, a long, slow unmerciful and certain death. If whoever is reading this has ever bought (or tried buying) something in that vast culinary wasteland, I will wager (literally) that you've had or seen like experiences. read more

A slightly upscale supermarket. A bit above Aldi, well below Whole Foods. They have a large selection of fresh produce and a wide range of other foodstuffs. Aisles are wide and the store is clean. Many of the staff aren't very helpful nor attentive. read more

I have been grocery shopping here for at least 10 years. Since Covid, I shopped here via Instacart until this week. Since grocery prices have gone up here and other stores, adding Instacart has become very spendy. I have been back here in person 2 times this week. The bill is much lower. I have found the service by the employees from cashiers to stockers to be helpful and friendly over the years. I really liked the updating done in the store a couple of years ago. Especially since they added Starbucks. Their floral shop is nice and always have good selections. It makes shopping much easier. This store is kept clean, cool, and very well organized. They do tend to run out of my favorite products, though. Today, they were out of stock on the mini bag of avocados. Other times, it had been the ready to cook gourmet burgers. A few other items also. They tend to reappear when I go back in a week or so. They have a very large free parking lot, for which I am grateful. There are plenty of wheelchair accessible spots around the store. They have a pull in spot to load your groceries into your car as well as to pick up your orders. I'm a happy shopper at this location. read more

This is the worst publix I ever been, the manager extremely rude and disrespectful, he followed me to the parking lot with a bottle of wine that I put back on the shelf because I desired to get a bottle of prosecco instead, i paid for all my item!!!. And he said to me extremely rude aggressive, I'm letting you know we have cameras, like i didn't know!!!. Very rude delusional, I ask him if he have any concerns to call the police!. But of course he couldn't since it was not true , he made a false accusation to me, no reasons!!!!. Every time I shop at this Publix I see a dog. The one time I bring my puppy, I was approached by the assistant store manager and asked to leave with the dog. I told him I won't happen again and that I would complete my purchase and then go. He then proceeded to follow me around the store and even stood behind me while I was paying as if I was some sort of thief or delinquent. He and the other manager were laughing while I completed my purchase. Today I see a dog who is also not a service animal in the store and watched as no employee batted an eye. I was in line to order a sandwich. There were 3 people ahead of me. I know it's a dinner time and busy. There were two ladies making sandwiches. After 15 minutes or so, I thought it was my turn. But the lady who just finished with one customer started making orders for online. She didn't even acknowledge me. The customer wasn't even there yet. I am not sure that online orders have priority. But I felt it was wrong. I left without my sandwich. read more

Instacart pickup here is top notch. Always greeted by a friendly worker and they bring out the bags in less than 5 minutes. This is how the service is supposed to work, but relatively this is amazing compared to other publix stores. There's a Starbucks inside which is nice. Pretty much never out of stock of things I need. It's clean, fellow shoppers are in the older age range (I go during lunch) and everyone is polite. Lots of fresh and tasty ready made meal options which is huge for my family. Most of the the time I can do self check out within 5 minutes. Waited 15 minutes in regular line today when I had produce. Per all grocery stores would avoid from 5-7 on weekdays and generally on the weekends. Never bother to get a pub sub because the line is always long. Parking lot can be a little manic, each lane loops back to the front road where there's people constantly crossing. read more

I buy sushi at this store 2 or 3 times a week. The person who served me offered me spacy mayo with my to-go order. Today, both the sushi waiter and the manager were very dismissive and rude. They asked if I wanted it, could they put it on top of my sushi, or could I buy a bottle of spacy mayo? It's a shame since Publix is ​​a store where the customer is always satisfied. Overall, this is a nice Publix. Friendly staff and clean aisles. Nice selection and fully stocked shelves. Occasionally, I do get produce that has gone bad. Considering how busy it is and everyone knows food has a short shelf life, I think it is a high quality grocery store. They have great customer service and the security guard is always friendly. read more

This is the worst store to shop at in the deli apartment where they make the sandwiches. I talked to the deli manager, and she was not helpful and rude. I love that they require customers to where a mask when inside. Employees where mask and in the deli and bakery department they wear mask and gloves. There is always someone in the front sanitizing the carts and greeting customers. It is better to come early in the morning or late at night because this store gets very busy during the day. The deli is great if you want to grab a sandwich or something for lunch. I also love that they have a Starbucks inside that opens pretty early. All os Miami Shores comes to this store. So if you're a local, you'll see some of your neighbors shopping here. They are open from 7AM-10AM everyday. read more

So I stopped into this location because I was in the area and wanted to get my fruit for the week. Terrible decision. I went to the produce section to get my fruit. The shelves were bare. There was a worker there checking the expiration dates of the fruit and ready made salads but didn't excuse himself so that I could select a fruit bowl. I literally had to squeeze between him and his cart or the wall go see the fruit. Even after saying "excuse me", he stayed put. The fruit bowls were sticking also. This was a very unpleasant visit. There was another employee standing by "sweeping" but was on his phone more than he was sweeping. The cashier was not friendly at all. No hello. No good evening. No have a nice a day. Nothing. They do not have to worry about me coming back. They do not live up to the Publix reputation. read more

This review is for the bakery manager! Mr Reiner (?) was amazing! He truly save the day for my daughters 5th birthday. I had gone to the bakery a few weeks prior to my daughters bday to look at cakes and was informed that what I wanted could be done however I was to early to order. When I did go to order the cake I had three people tell me it wasn't possible. Then the manager came to the rescue and apologized for the frustration and confusion and helped me create a custom rainbow cake. He also followed up after pick up to make sure I was happy! I like this publix . It has really nice people.Their is Evelyn the cashier who is super sweet. She is always so helpful and patient .She is a delight. Deborah the customer service supervisor is also very patient and helpful. Nice as well. This is definitely not one of the bigger, nicer Publix locations to which I grew accustomed when I lived in Florida. But I think they try to do the best they can with what they have. What they have is pretty limited space in a pretty old store. Stuff is just kind of chucked into areas rather than appearing to be well organized. It's crowded, especially in the parking lot, which has a variety of one-way drives to keep it from descending into complete chaos. But everything I was looking for, I found. The prices were very reasonable. The beer selection was decent. The staff was pretty friendly. And customers seemed to kind of stay out of each other's way, anticipating issues because the aisles are pretty narrow, especially in the produce area, which is quite overcrowded. So this Publix will get you what you need when you need it as long as what you need is fairly basic. read more

The store is great if you need basic essentials and non perishables. The produce is basic but nothing spectacular. Fish department didn't have much in the way of wild. My last trip there I needed some vino and a quick dinner. Picked up a great bottle of wine and 2 items from the sushi counter. The "dragon" roll The seaweed salad. I had one bite of this dragon roll and basically threw the rest out. The seaweed salad was frozen and apparently in the midst of thawing when I plucked it from the refrigeration area. Miami Shores Publix just keeps getting better. It's been completely renovated, again, everything has a fresh new look and layout to it. It's even nicer than the Publix at 128th & Biscayne, if you can believe it. But it isn't just superficial as they've also added a Starbucks for your caffeine fix. If that's not enough for you, as of last week this Publix is the only store in town to offer valet parking--seriously! It doesn't get any better than this. I feel like I should say something about the many low reviews at this store. They must be aliens or something, the kind that make life miserable for earthlings, because I just haven't encountered the kind of problems they detail here. I may be biased because I live so close, but I really would not rather shop at any other grocery store in town. read more

This Publix in Miami Shores is better than any I've seen in downtown and points in between. Why? Well, simply because it's bigger. Much bigger. And huge! For those of you from Texas, this Publix resembles a Flagship Randalls / Tom Thumb / Kroger Signature. Much bigger than the typical and standard Randalls/Tom Thumb/Krogers. I'm not saying that the stuff are vastly different that it's worth the trek, but it's nice to have a nice and reputable grocery store to go to whenever you're in the area instead of one that is either shoddy or cramped. Also, this is one of the Publix in the area that has the New Release dvd kiosk that rents out dvds for $1 a day. Check out the releases they have currently available at www.thenewrelease.com. I was bummed with the specially ordered cookie cake for my son's birthday. It wasn't round, they made a mistake in birthday and smeared the color and the cookies were not melted down. I wish I would've taken a picture of it but I was so upset. They ended up giving my two smaller cookie cakes to compensate, which was nice. I really don't understand how this place is so bad. I live two blocks away and drive to 128th publix because it is SO MUCH BETTER. I can't tell you how many times I've brought home popsicles that are mush in the bottom of the bag because they aren't put away fast enough and have melted. As if milk doesn't need to stay at a certain temperature to avoid bacteria. I constantly buy items without looking at the expiration date only to come home and realize they expired a week ago. I try not to visit this store but when in a time crunch I cave, only to be reminded why I hate it. Worst Publix ever :) read more

This is the closet Publix to my house so I come here a lot. The first time I made an online order for a sub, they said they didn't receive my order even though I showed them my confirmation number and even confirming it was this Publix. The worker started to complain saying the turkey was in the freezer and she didn't want to walk over there because her feet hurt, if she could give me ham instead even though I paid for my turkey sub already. When I respectfully declined the ham, the worker proceeded to complain as she was making my sub. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered online again today. When I went to pick up my order, the workers said they don't know what an "Online" order is and "We don't do that here" even though I have a confirmation number yet again and confirmed it was this Publix where I have to pick it up. Customer service at this place is non-existing. Employees don't know much about the groceries business and make no effort to help either. Not even the manager was helpful today (07.26.2020@3:45pm). Most of them have a bad attitude (except the cashiers). I spent a half hour looking for simple toothpick dispensers and they kept saying they didn't have them and... they were seating on a shelf but no one went looking for them...and they kept bouncing me from one aisle to another. Looking for assistance, I had to interrupt a male employee that was talking about wrestling with a customer and a female employee was very condescending and treat me as I was mentally retarded for not finding the toothpicks. They are NOT complying with CDC guidelines either. I saw a customer walking around with the face mask below his nose and physical distancing is not been enforced. I had a customer getting very close to me at the cash register and I had to ask him to stay away. No wonder Florida is number in COVID cases. This is not an exceptional situation. Example: I have asked for common ingredients such as cod fish and the employees don't even know what it is. Training needed! Employees must know the basics about the groceries business and learn about customer service. They are not doing the customer a favor, it's their job to please the customer. I honestly do not know why this Publix has low ratings, but I've been going to this Publix all of my life and I can say that it is one of the better Publixs in the South Florida. This Publix is neat, clean, and organized, and whenever I needed to find something I was always given an answer even if they didn't have the product. The way that they showcase their sales (we all know that those buy one get one free deals are the best!) is very easy on the eye and accessible throughout the store. Now based on location, certain Publixs will not carry certain items. For example this Publix does not carry a lot of Latin or other ethnic food products as it is located in a predominately white neighborhood. However, in the past decade, the diversity that has shopped at this Publix has increased, and so has their ethnic food product lane, even though some may consider it still a small selection. I have never had an issue returning an item, and many of the fresh items that I buy like fruits, veggies, deli meats, or even ordering a pub sub (that chicken tender sub thoughhhhhh). I have to admit when it gets busy, driving and finding parking around the parking lot is a little hard. However, there is Second level parking on top of this Publix that many people don't know about, even though the entrance is pretty big on the west side of the building. All in all, this Publix has served its community well, and definitely one that will continue to do so. read more

I might be a little biased because I live right next door to this publix, but I love coming to this location. It can get packed at times and it's difficult to find parking, but you always have the option of going to the parking on top. This location has always been clean and staff is always available to help you find whatever you need. Even though there might be lines, the staff go really fast at checking you out. Sometimes I'll grab pub subs from here because they aren't stingy with the extras and cause they're so delish. Miami shores publix is the best! read more

I have lived in the Shores for 33 years and have watched this Publix slowly decline to the point it should be closed! Getting a sub is impossible, even if you order online. Ice cream sits out forever in the middle of the aisle to be stocked, so it's covered with ice crystals or melted in a lump at the end of the stick. Salads are rotten and wet. Food is expired and sits in the freezer for months. This store is a short walk from my home but I choose to go to 128th and Biscayne. Tear it down and build some restaurants!!! read more

Over the years the products I want have been eliminated from publix stores. Nestle splash waters, stoufers pot pies and turkey dinners, many things from the deli especially cheeses. Our condo complex has collectively decided to shop at other stores and only go to publix, which is across the street, as an emergency. We use it like a convience store. 64 units are no longer shopping there. Congratulations publix. This location is simply the pits. From quality of service to food freshness. GROSS!! Update- Visited store on 7/29/18. I needed mexican style wraps. I really like the organic DonPancho brand. I buy them whenever I am lucky enough to find them FRESH. Typically they are expired and have mold as evidenced in the photo. A fairly simple software product could end this.
