I know Publix from Florida so went to the opening of our first store in the Bluegrass to explore the Kentucky version. Busy as expected. Staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. I explored the aisles which were majorly packed with goods. Mostly pricey. I bought a few things that I needed and whizzed through self checkout. (Stiil a Trader Joe's girl.) 35

We went to check it out, we ordered their steamed and seasoned seafood. It was amazing, we enjoyed the crab legs very much.

Decided to visit the new store in citation area. The deli was super busy at the hot bar area so I was not able to see what all they were serving. They had a station where you can order sandwiches and have a pick up line for on-line orders. The store seems to have a good selection of meats and seafood. I even seen specialty cuts of meats such as beef neck bones and lamb neck bones. The bakery has delicious looking cakes that I will definitely buy. The international isle has several Hispanic foods but I have seen better selections of Asian foods at another store. I will definitely come back once the crowd dies down some. I think it's worth to check out. You can download their app and you can order ahead, add a credit card for faster check out. Happy Shopping!

Went to the grand opening of Lexington's first Publix. Store layout is amazing! But my focus was the bakery! Fresh baked goods of all kinds. Even had hot baked good , cookies, brownies cinnamon rolls! Everything purchased was fresh and delicious! The employees are AMAZING! Very friendly and helpful. Hopefully that doesn't change when the openers from other stores go home. Welcome to Lexington Publix!

Car carts are perfect for kids! They also have the mini shopping carts but I wasn't in the mood for banged up ankles.

As a Floridian who has lived in Lexington for the past 3 years, my little Florida heart was so excited to stop into Publix once I heard it was open. Went by today and was delighted that they had the kid friendly car carts. The kids loved it. We didnt want to wait in line for a sub but got 2 premade sandwiches (my favorite ones from Florida were here, a Cuban and turkey gouda!), also got (cold section) buffalo tenders as well as regular tenders, stopped by the hot case and got 2 bags of their potato wedges. No need to wait in line for some great food. Oh how I missed their wedges. Got a few groceries but will stick to Meijer or Walmart for shopping shopping. Publix is expensive. less than Whole foods but more than the aforementioned. It was nostalgic for me mostly. The biggest difference between this location and any of the ones from back home was the customer service. Friendly employees! That was the biggest indication that we hadn't been transported back to any ole Publix in Florida, nice people and it was super clean. It is brand new though but Publix is typically a very clean store. Not Kroger-like at all even when in sketchy areas. Recommend for some tenders or a sandwich (not necessarily a sub, check out the cold section) & the bogo but I wouldnt recommend going here for all your shopping, unless you're rich rich. then it's probably fine.

Said they ran out of chicken at the sub section at 8:00pm but still had chicken for online orders. ITS 2 HOURS TILL CLOSE. DROP SOME MORE CHICKEN.

To come for lunch or dinner for a pub sub, I'm banking they'll have tenders they usually don't. ‍

3/23/26 I came here for lunch, as I remember how amazing their pub subs are when I used to live in Florida.

Funny enough, we have MORE fun shopping at Aldi, talking to other patrons and then figuring out what our bill would have been elsewhere. Let me just say - we are saving between 40-60% off our previous grocery bill. It's truly shocking. It's more fun than the Target Dollar Spot! We still have the occasional Costco run, but even some of our Costco staples are cheaper at Aldi! Now, if only I can remember a quarter and all my reusable bags!

She's particularly fond of German cookies so every Christmas season I go and buy her a bunch of German cookies. They also had frozen apple strudel which I probably should have gotten. They have the Kringle too. They have beef schnitzel but I was looking for pork which I didn't see unfortunately. I did end up with some cooca dusted truffles and dark chocolate covered marshmallows as well. In the Aldi's "find" isle they had some really nice gifting ideas. Such as a fairly thick blanket but it wasn't what I was looking for. The sled candles were super cute as well.

I've been buying flowers from them for about a month now. (The secret to keep your flowers alive longer is to add a cup full of vodka to cold water and an ice cube). I change my water on a daily basis using this method and my flowers last a full 7 days). We also stopped at Nate's to get coffee. I got a cold brew with foam and a shot of toasted marshmallow. My friend got a drip coffee and a bagel with spinach artichoke spread. She said it was really good but on the messy side to eat. I also picked up a jar of carrot cake jam from salad days. There were jewelry booths, that included homemade soap, vegetables fruits, baked goods , fresh pasta, different condiments and spices, rubs, beer, cheese, and assortment of beef, chicken, pork, farm fresh eggs and so on. It was busier than normal today but I think that had a lot to do with people graduating and the fact that the previous weekend was derby so people were out of town. The people selling fresh flowers were extra busy because tomorrow is mother's day. We saw a variety of dogs too which is normal. I like that the main area of the market is sheltered so you have protection from the weather elements and shade for when it gets hot in the summer.

There was a great variety of items available; pastries, baked goods, meats, cheeses, milk, local beers and LOTS of vegetables. I loved how many vegetable stands there were. Pastry prices were a bit high across the board but the ones I purchased were good. There was even a small amount of local art available which I love to see at farmers markets. I assumed the market was contained to the pavilion but to my surprise I realized the market also lined portions of the streets and around the pavilion. If I lived here I would find it pretty easy to do the bulk of my protein and vegetable shopping here. I almost forgot the mention the plethora of flowers.. GORGEOUS flowers!

We got there around noon and there was so much to look at. I was drawn to the Dubai brownie but we had lunch right before walking to the market. At the flower table we stopped at I got three stems for 10.00. They do take cash or you can go to the farmer's market information table and buy tokens for your purchase. The fresh produce looked really good long with the baked items on several tables. There is a table that does handmade pasta that looked really good. Since I watch my carb intake sadly I past that table up they also had mini meatballs made with a mix of pork and beef. There was a variety of cheeses, wines, beer, some tee shirts, a food truck that had really interesting drinks and different flavored lemonade flavors. I love seeing all the dogs at the market and although we don't have a dog I thought about getting a cat backpack and taking our cat.
