This is the third or fourth time we've received subs from Publix, ranging from an Italian to diced up chicken to supreme to vegetable, and it seems like the subs or at least this location is on the decline in terms of quality and taste. Peg at the self-service checkout is the best. Always smiling and eager to please. They should have her run the deli department because the workers over there just don't give a hoot. They hardly ever adhere to the soup menu. Standard practice is to have 2 of the 4 soups listed on the daily menu. Then they put out 4 soups all containing milk. That's a zero selection when you are lactose intolerant. Oh, and they never have soup spoons. Plenty of fried food but never baked chicken tenders. Too much work to make. Don't want to impose on the deli workers and have them provide what customers want. read more

This Publix is going down the wrong path. Just had to endure an off the clock employee repeatedly stating "I don't know who that little white boy thinks he is! I'm off the clock, come on, (speaking to OTHER employees) I'm gunna go fuck him up!" She literally said this 3-4 times, used profanity SEVERAL times, at the front registers while buying her own groceries surrounded by customers. Several people clearly very uncomfortable. This isn't how you handle work place issues. Clearly racism in this store. No manager called to attention, just two other employees egging her on, also of the same race. :( read more

went into Publix today to get a hot honey, chicken salad and a little old lady who made my salad just throw everything on it which made me not want it anymore or purchase it. it look disgusting but shout out to Bianca who came in and save the day, she was so respectful and polite. she remade our salad and it was beautiful. she took her time and made it with grace . she made our first experience worth while coming all the way from texas.. you go girl need more people like you in the industry read more

This is the only publix on the west side that I know that will literally stare at you when you checkout unless they're just doing it to me. This older, short Caucasian lady with brown hair always want to check my items. If I have items that's by the same brand but different flavors, she will tell me to scan them one by one for inventory - I've had cashiers at this sale Publix and others, just ask me how many Gatorades or juices I had( if they were single items but different flavors) I'm starting to think she suspecting me for shoplifting. I literally left my buggy in the middle of checking out today because she upset me so badly. Don't think I'll be shopping at this location anymore. read more

I haven't been in for a while, now I remember why. Came in for a chicken combo meal (box of chicken with sides and roles). Apparently no longer a thing no big deal. I love being ignored when asking where a product is (they don't have maps like Home Depot or Walmart).. just go somewhere else And save yourself the heartache. read more

Although the parking spaces a little difficult to navigate, the benefits outweigh this issue. Pharmacy people are always polite and helpful. and I can always find a good selection of any item. Even though this Publix is a little farther from my house than the one located on 103rd, I definitely prefer this one. If I just need to pick up a couple of items, I'll go to the one on 103rd, but if I'm doing some major shopping, I'll either come to this one or the one on 17 in Riverside. I prefer this Publix over the one on 103rd because it's cleaner. That's what we all expect from Publix. After all, their motto is "Where Shopping Is A Pleasure." It definitely rings true here. I love Publix subs. When I'm at home and craving one, I will come to this location every time versus the 103rd Publix. For whatever reason, the bread is fresher here. Even if it's almost closing time for the deli, they still have extremely fresh bread. The deli employees are also really friendly. There are always plenty of registers open and it never takes very long to check out. Everything is nice and organized in the store. If you ever need assistance, a friendly employee is never far away. This Publix does have a pharmacy (not all of them do). They offer several medications for free. Next time you're given a prescription, check with a Publix pharmacy to see if it's one of the ones on their "free list." I usually use the Publix pharmacy on 103rd, but I have had several prescriptions filled here too and I've always had a good experience. The most I've ever waited for a prescription to be filled was about 20 minutes. Not bad. Certainly better than Walgreens or CVS. read more

This Publix is a little bit older than some and you can tell, it is in the old-style of Publix layout. People that work here are uniformly nice. They often times will have an off-duty police officer outside because it is uncomfortably close to a couple projects but other than that it's in a nice neighborhood. They have a good selection of everything, and everything is fresh. They always offer to carry your bags out for you. The hours for the store are closing at 10 PM. I'm stores are open later than 10 PM but this one is closing at 10 which is unfortunate when you're looking for a late night snack. Everybody knows that Publix attracts a better quality of clientele than the other competing grocery chains and the dividends are that it's safer and nicer. They make fresh subs and they make fresh fried chicken and chicken tenders here, my kids love the chicken tenders. You can always smell the cooking chicken out in the parking lot makes me hungry. There is a smallish pharmacy here and it never seems to have a line. read more

Been here a few times for the "pub subs" and every time I'm waiting far too long. Today, I waited over 10 minutes just to get helped while the two workers were too concerned with mobile orders to help the growing line of people waiting, nobody even being greeted. It took over 30 minutes to get my order taken just for them to say they are cooking the tenders, said it would be 7 minutes and I'm here waiting for well over 15 while everyone else gets their orders taken. Ended up just getting something else. Overall very disappointed with my experience today and the employees need some training on customer service. read more

It's a Publix and well as you know most Publix will go above and beyond for their customers. The chicken and subs are well known as a hot commodity in the deli. This deli however lacks the technique of breading their chicken, last I checked, Publix doesn't offer an extra breaded mixed fried chicken or at least I'm aware of. The parking lot can be a pain to navigate in, whether it be trying to park, leave or just walking to and from your car. I think it's because the parking lot is a bit small. She grabs another, I'm thinking she's going to rewrap - nope DOUBLE WRAP. She says "yeh sometimes I need to do a double wrap with these" - it cracks down the whole side and she looks at me and says "you're going to eat it anyway so..." Publix to me is an upscale grocery supermarket it seems to be cleaner than most of the other chains and has a better selection of items. They are fruits vegetable section seems to be better capped and their customer service is very good. They always seem to be very conscious of their customers. Their shelves are always in order and everything is clean. They have great sales and the best of the sales they put upfront. They have a great bakery department where you can get well-trained staff created cakes. read more

I wasn't going to write this review, but I can't believe that nothing was done. Last week we went to Publix on Normandy blvd to get a sub, some sushi and a couple of boxes of brownies that were bogo at the time. When I went to check out, I didn't realize that it was rude to leave the four items in the little hand basket. I honestly thought that it was in a way, helpful, since everything would stay in one spot and organized. So, I placed the basket on the belt and that was that. When it was finally my turn to check out, Vicki, the cashier, was really annoyed that I left my items in the basket. She let out a giant sigh, snatched my basket, flipped it over and began violently shaking out the contents. Among those contents was my $12 sushi that the sweet lady in the back made for me. It was all shaken up, it was awful! I asked her why she did that and she just asked if I wanted to go back and have the lady make me another one. She didn't apologize or anything! She still seemed really ticked and had an attitude like "You wont do that again, will you?" I spoke to the manager about it and he also just asked me if I wanted to go back and get another one. No, I've already waited for it once. I want YOU to speak to YOUR employee, VICKIE, and then I want to find something else to eat and go home! I wish they would have looked at the cameras because I couldn't believe what I was seeing when she did it and I bet they wouldn't either. I looked back at my husband like "Is this really happening right now?" He felt so bad that I didn't have anything to eat and didn't want to eat his sub in front of me, but I was like "No, no.. eat. Please, eat." We usually drive out of our way to go to Publix because the employees seem like they really like their jobs. Vicki isn't one of those people and needs a job where she doesn't have to deal with people. I've never met someone so rude. I've talked to several people since, including my elderly father, and they all said that they've left items in the little basket before and had no idea that it was rude or wrong. We will go to Fresh Market from now on. There's a relatively new one on Riverside ave and they don't hire people like Vickie. We're going to have to find a new pharmacy also. read more

Love the fact that they are all wearing masks. That lakes me feel safe because I am a Senior. Although I am fully vaccinated but there are Seniors out there that are not yet I am sure. But even though there are people out there that are not and that saves people that are not fully vaccinated. The staff is excellent and they are there for the people. They are better than the other stores. I have been to other Publix stores and the other stores are not as good as Normandy Crossing is. Keep it up Normandy Crossing. I just got a sandwich from their deli department. My girlfriend asked for sweet mustard and I got some sort of sweet hot mustard? My girlfriend works for another store and says they don't have anything like that? So why after telling the sandwich maker that I didn't want anything spicy did I get spicy? On top of that the crust on the bread was really hard. So hard I could even bite through it and I had to tear instead. I've had publix sandwiches before and when you pay for boars head I would expect a higher quality of sandwich making than hard to bite sandwich drenched in sauce so much it drips all over and isn't what I asked for? I've already been considering not going to this location before because of poor service and now I won't go back. I'd rather drive farther to Roosevelt! read more

Everyone in the store is friendly except in the pharmacy department. Be prepared to wait a while and deal with associates that are miserable to be there. I would recommend every other section in this store except for the pharmacy. Every other section is friendly and helpful. Not sure what the pharmacies deal is. read more

I have had some wonderful experiences here in the past; however, there have been two many times over recent months that items have been expired or have gone bad before the expiration date. I have bought Greenwise chicken two times and it smelled rancid before expiration. Today, I wanted to buy chicken sausage but found expiration dates from yesterday all the way back to early August! In the past, a lot of the Oikos yogurt has been expired. NEVER forget to check the dates; but even still, proceed with caution when purchasing any meat. I will say that I've always been pleased with the nice employees. A cashier today, however, gave me a little grief about exchanging a dollar for quarters. Turns out I didn't need the quarters because the water machine was out of order. read more

Can't say enough about Publix supermarkets. Love the fresh produce, clean stores, friendly employees and pleasant atmosphere. Publix also offers lots of bogos, and its a great place to stock up on things you like. There is also a Vystar Credit union, Sears optical and Whataburger in the same plaza. Only negative - the way the parking is set up, it can be tricky getting in and out of parking lot + it gets busy in the afternoons and weekends. read more

This store is convenient for me since I live close to it and for food shopping it suffices. However the deli, pharmacy and staff sucks. At the pharmacy I was told there was no difference in price between brand and generic prescription. However when I went to a different pharmacy I saved 100 dollars than when I was quoted at Publix. Deli... They have no clue. I was getting the cordon blue sub that was on sale. I told the girl Dijon mustard and she put spicy mustard on it. I said no I wanted Dijon. She proceeded to tell me they were the same. Um no. I told her honey mustard and it was too much. When she printed the tag... She was like oh its on sale ...um yea you should know that. Lastly... I was looking for the red velvet oreos and asked a grocery associate where they were located. He took me to the area and said they were out. Yes I can see that. I asked him to check the back and he refused. Like wtf? At least make an attempt to look for it. Ugh. read more

I just moved here from NJ and I was so disappointed in this store. I placed an order from the website to be delivered and they messed up on some of the items. I called the store and the response was that it wasn't their fault, but someone else's fault. I was transferred 4 times to the wrong department and each time I was forced to retell my problem before I was told I was calling the wrong department. I finally had someone pick up that was supposed to be the store manager and after retelling my story again was then told to hold. Apparently, she wasn't the manager, only pretended to be and then tries to give me a random number to call instead. 30 mins on the phone and I could have been given a phone number from the beginning. The staff needs to work on their customer service skills ASAP. Introduce themselves and what department they work on so if you are being transferred to the wrong place, you can save your time and theirs. This is by far the worst experience in bad customer service. I will save my money and shop at Walmart or Winn Dixie. read more

I always though this Publix was pretty good up until recently. On my last visit I bought some non-breaded chicken wings, a shrimp tempura roll, and some Quaker oatmeal soft cookies that were on sale. The chicken wings were as hard as a rock and non edible. I fed them to my cat for dinner, she thought they were good though but she eats anything. The tempura roll had CREAM CHEESE in it. Who in the world puts cream cheese in a tempura roll? I buy one every week and have never had one taste so terrible. That went in the trash. I thought for sure the oatmeal bars would be edible but NOPE! Expired June of 2013. I purchased them the first of August. Going forward I'll drive the extra distance and go to another Publix further from my home. Get it together Publix! What they need is more competition so they are forced to step up their game! read more
