The store remodel is nice. Everything looks fresh and lots of space. The new cheese department is loaded with lots of temptations. It would be nice to have an employee that knows about cheese that is there to answer questions during prime store hours. (Have been there 6 times and no employee. The deli staff does not know the flavors) Produce department is getting better! Variety is growing and the prepared items look fresh. There is a lack of fresh herbs, just plastic boxed ones. Seafood department has a wide variety. New sushi display with "freshly in house made rolls". Cashiers are quick and always friendly. I have seen more registers open if there are lines. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. And multiple times too. I called the bakery to have this Publix make my wedding cake. I live in Canton, Georgia, but we decided to get married at a fancy AirBnB on Lake Oconee in Eatonton, Georgia. We were going to cater (apps, food, cake, flowers) the entire wedding through Publix. The key word here was "were." I went to my local Canton Publix and got their specialty cake brochure and talked to the bakery about options. My Canton Publix was fantastic and excited, saying they could pretty much make whatever my heart desired. We told them that we love one of their already-discovered creation under their Decadent Dessert menu called the Strawberry Limonada cake. It came in an 8 inch and we were hoping they could do a 10 inch and and 8 inch and stack them. The Canton Publix said absolutely. When we called the Eatonton Publix, we were not treated with such grace and excitement. They acted like I was a nuisance to call and made me feel guilty to even ask for them to bake me a cake. I am pretty sure I was about to drop a lot of money at this Publix so you can imagine my disappointment. They first told me they could only do the Strawberry Limonada cake in an 8 inch and that we could only order from the specialty cakes brochure. OK, that is fine. I understand their limitations. I called back the next day with an order that fit within their brochure parameters...white cake with raspberry filling. They then told me they cannot do the following things: - Stack cakes. - Make any cake other than an 8 inch or sheet cake. - Make a cake with any filling...period. They also told me all this with a sense of yelling and angst. And they cannot even fulfill one specialty cake that their brochure says they can do. So we called corporate and told them about our experience and decided to remove our complete catering order. They did not deserve our business or money. Instead of rating this Publix as a one star, I opted for a two star because we still got just my bouquet and a veggie tray from them and they worked out great. If you read other reviews on this Publix, you will read similar stories about the personnel in the bakery. It sounds like it is time for a change in that department. I urge you to not use this Publix if planning a wedding. They will take your happy and excited mood and turn it sour. read more

This store has many issues. The employees in the checkout are extremely rude, got into the express lane by mistake and the choice of words and attitude of the employee informing me that I had made a mistake were unprofessional and condescending. The next line's employee did not speak or look up from his register as he was checking me out. When checking out my debit card was denied, it came up on the screen that it was denied, and then I tried it again and it went through. I found out the next day that I had been charged over $300 twice. I contacted the store and was told they would trace the dollar amount. I had to call the store back in a couple of days to get an update, after I was told I would be contacted, only to find out that they are showing only one charge. The additional charge for the same amount is not out in limbo my bank is showing this store was paid twice. Be very careful using a debit or credit card with this store. The woman working the sandwich line in the deli couldn't have tried less to make my shitty sandwich. Waited over 10 mins in line just to be handed a sandwich I could have made better blindfolded. Publix do better. read more

I love this grocery store! It's well organized, clean, and the staff are friendly. It's pretty well stocked considering the shortages happening across the country. Also they have reasonable prices. read more

The employees at this publix are the rudest. I have shopped many publix and employees are always so friendly and helpful, not here!! No smiles , no have a nice day ! A red headed manager seemed very put out one evening that she had to open an additional register, rolled her eyes, huffed and puffed, too much work for her I guess!!! We got here around 10:30 on the Saturday morning of Memorial Day. Being the closest grocery store to Lake Oconee, this place was packed with lake trippers gathering all their MD food and beverage needs for the weekend. This store is huge with nice wide aisles. They knew the rush was coming and they were appropriately stocked with all the cookout supplies you could want. Love this Publix, friendly staff, convenient to my home, a little pricey but lots of good buy one/ get one free.

While on vacation if we are anywhere near a Publix supermarket, we can always count on getting good service, a hot buffet for take out food with delicious fried chicken, a variety of fruits and veggies and a pharmacy. Publix is good quality and they stay open late. I know locations in Georgia and Florida sale liquor, the wine selection is good and they have a good variety to choose from with good prices. read more

I ordered a wedding cake, cupcakes, and petit fours a month in advance from the bakery for my wedding reception. When I arrived to pick up my order I was extremely disappointed. I requested the cake and cupcakes I ordered to have sunflowers, sadly the flowers on the cake and cupcakes were orange not yellow. I also ordered two medium orders of petit fours, and only received one order with no explanation as to why. I would've been more understanding if the workers were not extremely rude, and shrugging their shoulders at my questions. Will never use this bakery again. read more

I've worked for this store for almost 10 months. I've enjoyed everyday I've worked here. I even shop here I love it here so much! They have some of the greatest people I've met in my life everyone there has been nothing short of friendly to me. When I was being interviewed for my job here I was enlightened to the reason that makes Publix so great. Customer Service. Another Publix....ain't what she used to be. Store is very big , opened 20 years ago..I was there often...not the same , no comparison even...everything has changed, Deli is low grade, bakery is bland, meat is overpriced but maybe the strong point due to quality . This Produce is samo same with little variety outside a chef salad ingredients, seafood--typical Publix ( seafood is always a joke at public ). Rest of the store...looks nice, overpriced. People are okay though, probably overworked and underpaid. Just a weird feeling going there ...needed change for the Water Vending machine in the foyer ..I was really stocking up so I asked the cashier for the change and she said she was told I needed to go to customer service so there I go read more

As a Florida Publix girl from way back in the 60's I was so excited when they opened in Georgia. Every week I've shopped at the Lake Oconee store only to watch it turn from an elegant, homey, extremely friendly store into a Walmart super center wannabe . Be prepared to walk the entire huge store for your essentials. In my opinion this should be a lesson in how to ruin a perfectly good store.
