Need to train employees how to bag groceries. This is not the first time I have experienced this situation where the employee just threw groceries on top of one another no matter what it was. I just had my cold bag filled with crackers, cookies, etc., and my milk and canned goods thrown on top of my eggs in a different bag. Crazy!! Service at this store is horrible. read more

Seems like an average market. They didn't carry the grits I was looking for but this pie was fresh, priced nicely, and not too sweet. Wild blueberries! I took off some stars because the younger persons at the check out were not kind to an older woman. She asked for change of a $50 while she was paying for her groceries. The cashier told her she had to go to customer service and then he and the bagger made faces and laughed at her. My husband glared at the bagger because he should have hid more respect particularly because that elder could have been one of his! The respectful thing to do would have been to walk the elder over to customer service and offer or offer to help her with her bags. My husband and I asked the elder if she wanted us to give or change or help her with her groceries. She said no. Be kind and respectful is the message here. read more

This is the first grocery store I've ever been to with a ramen / poke bowl station. We ordered the spicy tonkatsu pork ramen which was very good and a good size for $10. Everything was out together very quickly. Nice presentation to carry it in a ribbon casing. We also enjoyed the meal nice upper level seating area. Really nice alternative versus going to the fast food restaurants. read more

I had to return two packages of chicken we bought this morning- as we were preparing to cook dinner, we opened the two packages and the smell was overpowering and disgusting. I returned them and the was no reaction, no apology or even a thank you (I got the return slip and a "here you go"). This morning the cashier was nice but just about everyone else (including the bagger) was rude or grumpy - how can they boast great Customer service?? It's not! The store is also INSANELY expensive- a lot more than even Whole Foods!! I really have come to dislike Publix. read more

Publix is known for it's bakery - but not here. you have to pre order a loaf of bread a few days before. The bake on orders - not having fresh items ready for customers. You can not go in there and get fresh pastries, donuts, croissants, cakes. They have some pastries in plastic containers sitting on a table in front of the bakery that look like they have been there all week. Meats have sell date on the day of shopping or expired. Who has time to shop daily? I want to be able to buy at least a weeks worth of meat fresh. Be careful to check expiration dates because things are being sold that are expired. The attitudes of the staff are poor. You can see they hate being there and don't want to work or be bothered by you. Store is nice, however this store's deli is sad. The service is horrible. Slow to acknowledge customers and not very friendly. Deli manager cut my meats and over cut my meat by more than a half of pound. Didn't notice till I got home. Is this how they drive sales. Sad. read more

This is literally the worst Publix I've ever been to in my life. The ladies in the deli counter walked away from us 3 times as we tried to go and order food. I went to the deli counter and waited and they walked away and did not come back. So I walked over to the hot food where they were helping someone. They walked away again and didn't help us. There is not a rating low enough for this store. Bag handles break every single time I shop there. I have complained all the way up the chain but they do not care because they are trying to get you to bring your own or purchase reusable bags from them. Items are not bagged properly: Lettuce on the bottom of the bag, for example. I appreciate the jobs they offer to people who need them, but training is lacking. To put up with these issues continuously along with their high prices compared to identical items for much less in other stores is too much to ask, especially since they seem disinterested when you point out these concerns repeatedly. I love this Publix me and my husband always go get a poke bowl from them. They give a huge amount for the price you pay. The nice man working at the sushi station is so sweet and kind. And always gets us in and out. The store is updated and it's got a very modern touch. I shop her quite often and I've never had a problem with their pick up drop off etc! They are AMAZING! read more

We have been good customers of Publix since Florida in the 1980s. This new store is nearly but not quite state of the art for Publix. Physically, it is an improvement on nearby ladies island and seems to have more inventory and selections. Just like all Publix stores going back decades, another reviewer was spot-on talking about inattentive upper management standing around and being useless. Still, as always, Publix managers are almost always tall white men. We have noticed that for decades. Pity! Quality of staff is mixed as with most businesses these days. read more

I guess my expectations were just set way too high. I envisioned this new Publix to take advantage of its strengths and to highlight them while implementing the latest trends for supermarkets. Their bakery, which is one of its outstanding features, was buried in the corner. It wasn't an inviting space. I craved a sophisticated cheese selection. Yawn. So prayed for a salad bar. Forget about it. There were no surprises with the opening of this store. I live on Lady's Island, and will continue to frequent our local Publix. There is absolutely nothing at the new facility that would entice me to go over the bridge. But I am sure glad the folks on the other side of town finally have a Supermarket, and not just a Food Lion or Walmart. read more

We NEEDED our diabetes medication that's NEEDED for diabetes and NOT weight loss. Our mandated mail order pharmacy was out of stock. They encouraged us to reach out to our doctor and to search locally for the medication. They would pay the pharmacy once the prescription was filled. Well we called many many pharmacies with no luck until we were able to speak with the Publix pharmacy staff on Robert Smalls in Beaufort. Let me tell you that we were able to get thru directly to a human being (no AI) in under 5 minutes. I am kicking myself because I didn't get any names. The first lady who answered confirmed that they had the medication in stock. She advised me to contact my online pharmacist to get specific information and to call her back. I did just so and when I called back I spoke with a gentleman who told me the young lady had gone for the day but had explained everything for him. A few minutes of questions about our health coverage and voila--we were told to come get the medication in an hour. What! Huh! Wait. Are you serious?! We went to pick it up and when I tell you I wanted to hug those pharmacy people--it would be an understatement. I know they were doing their job but in today's climate it seems like some people hate their job and don't take issue with letting it be shown. I am so impressed with how professional, kind, knowledge and efficient these people behaved. Did I mention that this took place around 4 pm on a Thursday, April 25th, 2024? If I had extra income I would have given each of them a $500 "thank you" . They will ALWAYS have a warm place in my heart. Thank you. Do I recommend Publix Pharmacy on Robert Smalls?! Heck yes. Another bad review but I'm tired of this crap! I buy the same snacking pickles every time, this time I couldn't find them but there was no empty space on the shelf so I thought they must have stopped carrying them. Then I read the price tags on the shelf and there it was, Sucker Punch Spicy Garlic pickles $6.xx but instead of the correct pickles being on the shelf there were jars of Vlasic pickles. There was an employee in the aisle so I asked him about it and he told me he was a volunteer and couldn't help. When I was in the checkout line I asked the employee checking me out about it and she said she couldn't help and that I needed to go to customer service. At that point I've done enough, I noticed YOUR mistake and tried to fix it with 2 people. IM NOT HERE TO DO YOUR JOB FOR YOU, ffs, it's a grocery store, a crayon eater could do it. I love the publix shopping experience, it's on par with Harris Teeter. The problem is, I started eating their subs and they are delicious. After that, I tried the hot food bar and that was also very good. After they got me hooked on the food, I started the notice that the customer service at this location specifically is absolutely horrible. It routinely takes up to 25 minutes just to get a sub sandwich with a line of only 5-7 people. Tonight, I stood at the hot bar for nearly 10 minutes before an employee finally came out from the back of house to work the hot bar. After that, a customer spilled something all over the floor, so the employee had to leave again to clean up the mess. It took 20 minutes just to get some pre-made chicken wings. The employees are also non-verbal. Don't expect any courtesy, greeting or just acknowledgment of your existence in general. These employees are more like zombies than people. So thanks a lot publix, you reeled me in with your delicious subs at reasonable prices, but I have to go through hell to get it. Hire some more workers. Pay them a livable wage and maybe you can get a decent worker with passable customer service skills. Figure this crap out. read more

I loved the way the store was organized I could find everything I needed and Jennifer Williams at the sandwhich area helped me make the best salad and recommended the popcorn chicken nuggets for my son and he devoured them before we left the store. the meat manager Justin is the most unprofessional person in this building . while conversations with him may have been few it was still enough to let me see the type of man he is and what he represents on behalf of bree mooney the store manager ... on one occasion he stated directly to me " he made it so uncomfortable for a previous employee in hopes that he would quit but the man was relentless and just wouldn't " . what's unfortunate is the fact that many of us are not relentless we have families and bills so we're determined to endure harsh situations to make ends meet . it saddens me because my own fiancé was also pushed to leave because of this harsh treatment with promises of promotion and a full time position and nothing was done . this is a reflection of discrimination; looking at this from my own point of few i too work in management and would never take things to this measure . i believe in being straight forward and maintaining good wholesome friendships with my employees. read more

This Publix compared to the Lady's Island Publix is a very far cry. I stopped by the Publix store on Lady's Island for 6 rotisserie chickens for a repass for a grieving family and not only were they available but the were so hot and tasty smelling in the car that we decided to get one for ourselves but instead we wanted to stop by the Beaufort store since we live 2 miles (roughly 5 minutes away) from that location. We arrived in Beaufort Publix they had NONE ready. No fried chicken, no nothing....on a Sunday afternoon!! They the guy says let me check the back. He comes back 3 minutes later and says " I have good and bad news- good news, we have rotisserie chickens, bad news- it'll take an hour". Please know, THIS IS ALL BAD NEWS. Now we have to drive onto Lady's Island all because our local store was lacking. We asked for a manager and who ever that was was "unavailable". Beaufort Publix: GET YALL STUFF TOGETHER!! read more

I've given this Publix a few tries and it's very disappointing. The layout is awful. The takeout area jams up the produce area. The bakery is stuffed in a back corner. The customer shopping etiquette is horrible. I live very close by, but have decided to go back to Lady's Island. It's a more stress-free experience. The customers have manners and the layout is better. read more
