Went in last night at 5:45 pm to pick up some of those good chicken tenders in the hot food line. Virtually every item had little to no product in the pans and the food was all on the rails between the pans. There was only one person in front of me and only two people in line for sandwiches. I asked the guy how long on the chicken tenders. He went to check and came back 5 minutes later and said 10-12 minutes..........meaning they didn't even know they needed them. 4 people came looking for the 8 piece fried chicken but left in frustration. There were literally 2 bags of product in the grab and go section at 5:45 pm on a Monday night. Just think of the increased profits you would see if you ran the deli and hot food section like it should be run. No one will ever read this from Publix and nothing will change but the WalMart will be open in January and I can vote with my feet. No wonder you have a 2 star rating. read more

This Publix is absolutely pathetic! Poor management and execrable service. Ordered chicken wings at noon for delivery between 4 and 6pm. Received a text at 6;30 saying they were out of all chicken as they were too busy and couldn't make any. Idiots. Every time I've been (about 8 times now!) it's the same story and I'd really like to like this store. But....its AWFUL! The produce department is a disaster. Nothing fresh. Even prepackaged items like salads and such are past expiration and visibly look spoiled. The deli area? They never have rotisserie chicken ready....ever. And don't try to get a sandwich unless you have 20-30 minutes to wait because there is never enough staff at that counter. Worst sandwich experience ever. How hard is it to get an order right? Ordered a turkey sub and they gave me roast beef & ham on it which I don't eat. Paid additional for bacon and you would think it wouldn't of killed them to crisp it in a microwave for 30 seconds. It was almost raw and looked questionable if it was even fresh, and had to take it off also. So, by the time I picked everything off, there wasn't much left. Didn't have time to return to the store to deal with it. Never again. read more

I've been shopping at Publix since we moved to Florida. Recent changes have made me shop there less and less. I have not gotten beef there since October 24. Now they appear to have replaced their own deli salads with something Winn Dixie also sells. I've bought the potato salad once. It's crap. Lucky they still have BOBOs. read more

I see this Publix has a low rating already and from today's experience I can honestly say it's well deserved. Normally Publix is excellent in all it does but I guess there's always an exception. I called to order Hot Honey wings because every time I go they are either out or they want you to wait 30 minutes to make some. Well I should've guess that there was going to be a problem after calling the Southshore Village Publix and be bounced around for 10 minutes until someone finally picked up in the Deli Dept. He advised me that he found some and after some back and forth with someone else on the staff he said they would be ready in about 20 minutes and said that I could come come now and watch him toss them. I declined the invite and told him I was on my way. When I got to the Deli Dept and didn't see my wings and then having to wait in line behind three other customers to ask about them was basically called a liar (he asked who I spoke to and when I told him I didn't get a name he said in a snarky tune; "Well someone is lying. " He then said they were out and then implied again that someone is lying. So seeing how I was going to get what the trip was for I decided to buy some flowers for my wife...mistake #2. Of course the bundle I picked out didn't have a price on it. The cashier (really nice kid and no I didn't get his name either) sent the bagger to get a price (which right behind the checkout and I pointed it out) ended up walking right by the flowers and went somewhere. After about 8 minutes and running out of things to say to the cashier I left empty handed. Just horrible Publix. I gave it one star because the cashier was nice and asked if I wanted a manager. read more

Decent selection. I came here on a Friday around 3pm and browsed the aisle with shampoo, conditioner, etc. The staff member I interacted with wasn't very friendly. Very disappointed! I asked the meat department if they prepaired thanksgiving meals. They said yes. Handed me a booklet with photos of pre cooked foods and stating you simply heat and serve. Well not even close. It was nothing but frozen foods in pre packaged plastics that I could have picked off the shelf and boxed myself way cheaper. The ham is not seasoned and dripping in sweetness as the pic shows. It's a pre plastic wrapped half of a ham they ripped the sale ticket off and threw it in the box. Half the ticket is still there. So so disappointed. They got us this year but they will never get me again. Back to Boston Market they do it way better. read more

This is a new built, very nice, clean, well kept Publix. I have shopped here many times and like the items they offer. They have about 95% of what I seek to buy compared to other larger national grocers, so that's pretty good. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but if you watch for BOGO deals, use their app/ website for digital coupons along with your rewards card, then you can save some cash. I wish we consumers did not have to go to their website/ app and click on either "add all" or choose specific coupons, as I think all of us shoppers would prefer they automatically be added and tied into our phone number we use for our rewards card. Overall I like this location and the staff have always been friendly and helpful to me and my group. The deli is hit or miss on how fast they are, sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 20 minutes, lol. The deli meats are a good selection and a good brand. I like to shop here and think its a great grocer. read more

If you are looking for a quick sushi fix I find Publix has some pretty good choices. This is the chef's special. I prefer warm sushi over cold but there cold sushi is always so fresh and tasty! I love the little crunchy things on top of the Crunch roll! They make it fresh each day and on Wednesday they have $5 sushi deal! read more

While I'm​ happy to have a new Publix nearby, I'm disappointed that it's such a small version. My wife had a discussion with the manager and was told that it's stocked for the Ruskin demographic. They aren't willing to carry large selections​ of vegetables. We were hoping for more upscale products, but we must continue to travel to Publix in Sun City Center or Fresh Market to get what we want. So they quickly​ say they will order anything they don't carry. We ordered anchovy paste and it took 5 weeks to come in! The good news is they usually carry fresh dill. The bad news is they keep spraying them with water and the dill is often rotted. After complaining​, they seem to have stopped breaking the beets shoving them into too small a place. read more

Publix is great this review is not about Publix. The pharmacy on the other hand could be run better by a bunch of 12 year olds on a sugar high. There was a mixup on my prescriptions twice! Once for my son and once for myself. When I called to inquire about my missing prescriptions I got this rude lady who kept repeating "I understand your frustration." I'm not kidding she probably said it at least 12 times. A prescription for a 2 year old that has a 5 hour delay is completely unacceptable! As is waiting 5 days for a prescription for myself! This is no way to run a business. Shame on you! read more

This is about the Deli, the rest of the store is great. If you order deli meat and cheese online and have multiple items they will almost always get your order wrong. It may be the cut that is wrong where you will get cheese that are almost 1/3 lb. per chunk and not sliced or the meat is cut super thick when you asked for thin, or they will not include one of the items if you ordered multiple items. I have been going to this store since it opened, so this is not a Covid issue, this is a bad management issue. The manager of the Deli, if he is still there, is the worst one when it comes to following your meat and cheese cut requests, always in hurry to get the order done but not right. They need to put the right type of people in the deaprtment and enough of them. read more

I was also excited about having a publix in our area, and I live in Ruskin, and I find myself doing the same thing as the previous reviewer; I'm still going to the Sun City Center for produce and other items that I can t find. Ruskin, is building up, and many of us have a diverse pallet, and have travel outside U.S. I'm trying to support our local companies, but it doesn't make sense to travel to several store to do my weekly shopping. read more

Glad to have a new Publix... However one if the reasons we shop at a Publix is for the better customer service....and this one is lacking. While a few employees are great many are busy talking with each other and seem not to be trained in customer service that is expected at a Publix. This store was great the first few weeks it was open but not as much now... I can buy groceries for much less at Walmart and Aldi's and get the same customer service. I now shop here only for some specialty items or just a few run out and grab items. Hoping they improve to be as advertised. read more

This is a nice Publix. We just went thru a hurrican. Many of the shelfs were empty but you can see that they wete restocking. You can smell and see that it is all kept clean. The workers are very helpful and polit. read more

Yes-this is new and clean but not up to Publix standards.. We get wings from there at least twice a week- they never have enough roasters or wings in the warmer display for peak shopping times. I usually have to wait 25-30 minutes for a new batch to be made. The coworker is always apologetic but as he admits- he is the only one for that shift in the department and he can't do everything. My wife bakes- she needed baking spray- they no longer carry Bakers Magic or any baking spray- but have 6 other different types of Pam and Publix brand cooking spray. Meat Department-why don't they have a butcher display case like all other Publix store. If you want a specific cut you have to try and get their attention in the back prep area, once they acknowledge you good luck- they try to sell you on the precut wafer thin steaks in the cooler case. We have begun to use Winn Dixie more and go to the Publix in Sun City. read more

If I could I would literally give this Publix 0 stars. Being a Publix I have higher expectations than say your neighborhood Walmart. There is a cashier there in particular who is CONTINUOUSLY rude. I mean put her on stocking duties in the back where she doesn't have contact with customers. Also the entire social distancing initiative they have going on in my opinion is a little over the top. I patiently waited my turn 6 ft apart got to the checkout belt and started to unload my cart mind you a cart that only had 10 items and the cashier from another register turns around to "assist" me and rudely tells me to back up so she can unload.hmmm I'll pass maybe next time ask politely if I would like your help not rudely boss me around. Mind you that it's the same cashier that continues to be rude every time I'm there grocery shopping. On that note, thanks Publix for your groceries but I will be shopping at Winn Dixie from now on. read more

I have always been a fan of Publix grocery stores and when we learned that a brand new store was going to be by our house, my entire family was excited. Their employees are 100% ready to assist you with any questions you might have and their manners are impeccable. This Publix consistently has great deals like BOGOs and plenty of coupons to use every week. Recently, I had to go to Publix to pick up some tea for a family get together and I couldn't find the tea I needed. I asked an employee if he knew if they had any more in the back. He said that he would go check and when his manager paged him, he told me that he would be right back to look for tea. A short while later, he returned with two gallons of tea in tow. I thanked him profusely and he asked if I needed help with anything else. I have never had bad service at Publix and it is a pleasure to shop at any of their stores.
