ZERO STARS! This place is the worst place to rent from. DO NOT RENT HERE. OVERPRICED for complete garbage. First of all, They have no security! People try to breaking into these units all the time. The security cameras don't work and they aren't able to keep thieves out. They claim no responsibility if anything gets stolen or ruined. Most units have leaks from the ceiling, ruining all your stuff. All they the tell you is that is not their problem and if you want anything done you have to talk to your insurance and only if you are lucky and jump through a million hoops you might get reimbursed after months of fighting and frustration. Secondly, This place is a joke! They close at 5 PM! not a minute longer or you get stuck inside, if that happens they charge you money to let you out! Third, If for some reason you can't get into your unit, because something is wrong with the door or your lock, that could get ruined because (the thieves try to break in to your unit by drilling into your lock ruining it or bang on the metal gate ruining it, which by the this just happened to a friend I know that rents there) they say is your problem and that in order for you to get into your unit you need to bring a professional locksmith who will charge you $300, because you can't do it on your own. This is by FAR the WORSE storage unit I have ever used. The managers are useless all of them, and they claim complete ignorance of anything in the contract that doesn't benefit them but they'll make sure you abide by their rules. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague. read more

Going from about 260 a month to 507 a month in 2 1/2 years is outrageous. The cost on one unit went up $120 per month, this month alone. I called to request a review, and complain. There is no escalation available for any of these comments. They just put a rep on the phone at the 800 number who has no authority to do anything or even escalate the question to a supervisor. I'm moving out of that unit at the end of this month now. And while I'm at it, will leave the other unit as well. Don't expect anything better. They have optimized the model on how to maximize squeezing the money out of people. We're kind of a captured audience after all. It's expensive to switch units. read more

The manager is very rude and disrespectful. He is very unhelpful. He decided he wanted to change the hours you can access your unit from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm to the hours of 6:00 am to 5:00 pm on weekends and 6:00 am to 6:00 pm on weekdays. Most people who work can't get to their unit by that time. So be prepared to take a day off of work anytime you need to access your storage unit when you rent here. Their website says the normal hours so before you rent here be aware the hours are stupid and the manager won't help you with anything if he doesn't feel like it. I wish I would never of rented here but I was lied to about the hours and didn't find out about them until they had already charged my card and refused to refund me. read more

Had a truck bed trailer and a vehicle there for a awhile but someone kept breaking into my truck, they went as far as living in it and my trailer kept getting garbage in at and the wiring harness for the lights kept getting cut off and to boot, the trailer was stolen out of the property right under their nose. why? u ask ? Absolutely the worst place I've ever stored at by far. Just for context, over the last roughly 15 years I've had storage units at 10 or so locations across California, Nevada and Utah. Never had so much as a minor problem at any of them until now. The people here went way out of their way to create problems and drama. The property manager, Barb, is OK. I only saw her once. You're usually dealing with a paranoid nut groundskeeper and/or some attitudinal tweaker woman. Wonderful blend of incompetence and arrogance with a delightful soupçon of paranoid schizo. Guy who I rented from mostly kept it together on the first day but said some really weird things to me out of nowhere that I let slide. In retrospect that should have been a huge red flag. I was there for a year with no staff-related incidents, and most of that year I wasn't even in the state of Utah. I came back this past summer to winterize the stuff in my unit (sort it out and cover it up properly since dirt blows in, bugs crawl in and there's always a chance water will leak in). The paranoid nut was driving around on his little go-kart looking for drama and apparently decided that somehow I was involved in Un-American Activities or something. I won't launch into the whole story but it kicked off an unbelievable little campaign of passive-aggressive harassment. The tl;dr version is that if you do anything other than drop your stuff off on move-in day and never show up again until move-out day, this dude will decide you are a Reptilian paid by George $$$oros and the Illuminati to steal his property's vital juices or something and start hovering and harassing. It's not even a good value. Pricing is right on par with shit tons of other places in West Valley City, let alone if you expand out a little to say Draper. There are better deals all over the place - I got an indoor all-metal unit with a nearby competitor for substantially less than my move-in price, let alone what they had cranked the rent up to after a little over a year. And shopping around for an indoor unit is worth it. As mentioned, these units aren't sealed properly. Bugs get in and set up camp all the time, dirt blows in in the winter. Locks will seize up due to rust from rain/snow and dust blowing in them, I had both the required inset cylinder lock and a disc lock and by the time I moved out both were nearly ruined. In the warm weather? Wasps. The unit interiors are all wood, and they swarm the place for building material. A bunch of them decide to stick around and just build under the eaves above the unit doors. Since they can get in and out so easily I kept expecting to open my door up after long absences and find a nest underway inside. Don't waste your time with these bitter nuts and their inferior outdated units. Tons of other better options right along Redwood let alone within just a couple of miles of here. read more

I just rented the space March 29,2024 the girl that did my reservation I don't think she know anything she gave me a space that someone already rented made me sign papers paid for it then tells me to pay my space 61.00 that will get me all the way to May and of course she didn't noted it on the account what she promised my husband and I. Then I get and email in April saying that I am late in paying my rent remind you the office person said if we pay 61.00 up front we don't need to pay the space until May 1st. Now I have to pay $22.86 for the late fee in April and If I don't pay the 22.86 they will auction off my thing. I shouldn't have to pay for that she amount should be waved or have that girl that gave me false information pay for that 22.86. Please if you're looking to rent a space go somewhere else bc you will be surprised with the extra charge that the office people charge you with. Poor customer service. If I was in town I would take my things out of the storage and go somewhere else. The other office said I transfer the space which that's a lie I didn't transfer anything the same people that rented the space gave me a space already rented out we had to switch to a different space that's open. Rented a space for my 26' travel trailer (23' box). They said they had a 25' trailer space and the extra foot would be no problem if the tongue sticks out a bit. Well, the space is actually more like 22' deep and sits at a 45 degree angle, so it's not only the tongue, the corner of the box is hanging over the driveway dangerously. I was headed out of town and don't have time to find something else, so I'm just praying that nobody hits it!! read more

Ran into problems my FIRST DAY. I recently escaped an abusive relationship and so all of my stuff was...packed with haste? So a bit unorganized. After being required to listen to some woman read me the rental agreement literally line by line....I did not catch anything about service animals or time I could be in my unit. I have a service animal that quietly lays next to the door while I organize my things. About 15 minutes to close, I get Takes Her Job Too Seriously Tammy over to explain how I was only allowed to be in the unit 1 hour per 8 hours. Uhm...ok? Never mentioned to me but I didn't want to cause problems. Oh and since your dog put her feet on the concrete(her exact phrasing) it's an automatic lease termination. Uhmmm hell no. I explained that she is a service animal, not an emotional support animal and ADA laws protect my right to have her with me. She just said nope! And filed for my removal anyway. One day less than the lease agreement required, mind you. No problem! I'm honestly happy this happened before I had a chance to move in the rest of my stuff. I actually had a business inventory I was looking to store as well...so luckily I got out of this ghetto hell hole before I tried to store any other items with them! read more

These people are the best...my mom just passed away had to move quickly out of our place i booked on line got a phone call right away from the manager confirming my reservation completed my process all on line so easy it shocked me. When i arrived there was no additional paperwork to do. They walked me to the unit where i found my lock waiting for me. I downloaded the app and can open my gate from the phone app super simple easy. Staff is very friendly. They have a no smoking pollicy which i like and i smoke. They give 1st month insurance free of charge then its only 15 dollars extra a month its very easy and the units are super clean as is the property very well kept im super happy with my choice to rent here read more

When I signed up for a unit i was charged $20 for a lock however online it said that if you brought your own lock they would refund you the $20, thats how it worked for another unit of my at the public storage down the street, so when I went to go return their lock and get my refund, I was told that the website was wrong and the way their units work, the lock they charge you for is the only one that will work and that any additional lock you personally provide is just an added security measure. I had already went out and bought a cheaper lock and slapped it on there and then was told it wasn't allowed. Also, they're never in the office. I was told they would return at 2 so I returned at 2:10 and while I was gone they then put up another notice saying they'd be back at 2:30 so when I returned at 2:50 I was then greeted by another notice saying theyd be back at 3:10. Kevin and Crystal helped me today when I got a unit. I was not sure the size and Kevin was able to assist in what I would need. They were both very friendly and helpful. I have not used storage in the past and was surprised at how easy it was. I was really surprised that Kevin knew every customer that walked in and there was 3 of them when I was there he knew by name. I do feel that when I called to ask about units that the fact you have to buy the lock from them should have been told and that insurance has to be bought. I dont like surprise charges. It should be NO STAR. I booked my unit online,j ust as i had done with another unit(also Public Storage) elsewhere in the valley. I had no problems with the other unit,except it is to much of a walk to the unit from my truck. Im in and out of my unit various times daily,weekly because i store most of my tools 4 work there. So,the facility on Redwood is where my unit is i just rented. I show up yesterday to unload a trailer i was pulling ,and i had downloaded the app to be able to use my phone to open the gate. Well i tried about 3 times w/o any success of opening the gate. With in the few mins of this there was about 3 cars behind wanting in as well. A young woman came over and said she would put her code in and for me to go in as well. Mind you ,Im not very confident in my backing w/a trailer abilities and with people behind me and limited space,i just went in the gate and proceeded to locate my unit. My unit is in the very back of the lot,which makes no nevermind to me. But i noticed a young woman walking from the front of the lot towards me ,which turned out she works there,(Im assuming). She asked had i booked and registered online,i told her i had. She informed me that i have to key in my code so the computer thingie knows im on the lot and it wont let me out if it doesnt know im there. Made sense. I apologized and said i understand,ty. Figured that was that. I unload my trailer and go to leave. I pull up to the keypad,keyed in my access code manually this time,NOTHING happens,did it again,NOTHING. i look in front of me and there is a man in a pick up and another man in a car pulling a trailer as well. The man in the pick up walked over to the office then back out to the key pad. He put in some numbers,the man in the car w/trailer went through the gate,the man in the pick up had got back in his truck and pulled out as well,so i thought there must be a problem with the keypad. I started pulling up to the gate,and it shut on me just as i reached it. So the woman working made it clear that she controlled the gate. I got out of my truck(telling myself to b calm,b nice,blah blah) . I step into the very cluttered office area asked if theres a problem? Same young woman that approached me prior asked if i had ID cause she wanted to make sure i had the right code. I had wrote the code on my palm just before leaving,told her i had the right code,told her the code and she acknowledged i had indeed had the proper code. I bit my lip,tongue,but i couldnt control the glaring look of what i was saying in my head. I walked back ,got n2 my truck and sat there till she decided she should open the gate. In my opinion,she was very immature, unprofessional and an out right a word i wont say(female dog). Im in the process of asking for my money back and relocating immediately. read more

When I arrived, Barbara was quick to help - she selected a couple units that she felt might work well for my items; gave me a tour of the available units and the facility; and also told me about the current specials.
