Absolutely ridiculous. Someone tried to break into my storage unit and broke my lock. This facility told me to pay for a locksmith out of my own pocket and is asking me to pay for a new lock. I then said I could cut it myself, they told me they would evict me for breaking my own lock. This after years of charging me more and more for the same storage unit. I'm not sure how many of these reviews that people supposedly left are legitimate or not ? But I'm going to give it to you straight. I visited many storage facilities in the area before choosing this one. The first 3 storage facilities that I visited were all run by people who looked like they were either on drugs, or use to be. When I walked into this location on 11th street, I was greeted by a really nice lady named Christina. She was professional and was extremely helpful. And made me feel like my belongings were being stored in a safe situation. When I signed up, she informed me that all new rental contracts receive the 2nd months rent free. My rate was $368, for a 10x30 unit. After moving into the unit for 3 days, I realized that I was going to need a second unit to accommodate all of my things. This was the first time that I was acquainted with an employee by the name of Kernesa. She was walking back and forth up and down the same isle that I was moving my belongings in. I could see her attempting to mask the fact that she was doing a visual inventory of the contents of my unit She kept doing "casual" passes while eyeballing my unit. I stopped her on her 4th pass and asked her if there were any other units that are the same size available ? She told me that there was, and she was going to lunch and would be back in an hour . If I would like her to make the arrangements? I had a good 15 minutes left of unloading from the truck so I decided to hang out for 45 minutes and take her up on helping me lease the second unit. When she came back from her lunch, I stood there at the counter and we did the whole registration, paperwork, etc. At the end of the process, she tells me that my storage will cost $400 something dollars a month. I was puzzled because I had just rented the exact same size unit from them for $368 ? When I asked Kernesa why there was a discrepancy in the price that I was being quoted, and the price I was currently paying for my other unit ? She told me that it was because I had her set up my account, rather than do it on my own through my phone. So basically, she stole 45 minutes of my time to upcharge me on the back end . Then she tells me that if I want I can start the process over on my phone so that I can receive the promotion. So of course I'm going to stand there and do the entire process over on my phone because otherwise it was going to cost me $72 more every month right off the bat. Afterwards , I re completed the process, paid my dues and left. Now I was under the impression that all new rental contracts received the 2nd month rent free. Skip forward a couple weeks, and I became extremely ill . While I was in the hospital, I was receiving calls and texts from Public Storage 11th St stating that my rent was overdue. I disregarded it as a mistake because I knew that I had paid my rents, and had one free month afterwards . I was still well within my first two months of leasing with them. A week later I get released from the hospital and I go straight to Public Storage to sort out their misunderstanding. I was told by an employee that the reason why my account was late was because I did NOT receive a second months rent free on that unit. She informed me that Kernesa should have told me that, and then I could have used my wife's name to get a second month free. Then she wrote on a paper that if I can cover the overdue bill by a certain date ? My property would not be auctioned. I came the day before the date she had written down for me, and Kernesa was working. I kept it short with her, didn't complain, just paid my bill. After she handed me my receipt she informed me that the second unit I leased had been sold in auction. I'm not a believer in crying over spilled milk, so I took it on the chin and walked out pissed without saying a word. Today I walk into Public Storage on 11th St, to pay my bill, and Kernesa is working again. I said I was there to pay my monthly rent for my ONE unit, and she said my bill was $500 something dollars. I asked her how my bill was $500, when I knew my rent was $368 ?? She told me that I was on a month to month basis meaning they can send an email and let you know that your rent is going to raise at anytime. So in the two months that I have had my belongings at this facility. My rent has been raised well over $100. Everyone who is looking for a storage rental in Tracy ? Should be VERY cautious getting yourself tangled up with this place. Their business practices are unethical at the least, and predatory . I wonder how many people have been victims of this criminal business practice ? Also the employee Christina that I was really impressed with, and convinced me to do business there... was let go. They obviously let go of the wrong employee, and their business is going to suffer over it. No one likes to deal with sneaky, dishonest people. I have never rented a storage space before. My experience with Tracy Public Storage has been great! I was able to sign up online. They sent very good instructions for me to access my space. The entire area inside and outside is super clean. I didn't access my space promptly and was sent a reminder. After I was able to go i received a call to make sure everything was ok. FIND A DIFFERENT STORAGE SOLUTION!! They roped me in with a low storage rate and within 2-4 months I received a $30 increase on a $160 space with absolutely no warning. Just incredible that's all I can say those folks are amazing there happy to be there they seem like there enjoying what they do the prices are extremely reasonable compared to other storage areas in Tracy. Clean very easy to get in-and-out In office even sells boxes and tape and bubble wrap all the fun stuff that you need at a good price not the best price but a good price. The location amazing there are 3 located in Tracy but I can tell you that this one is by far the easiest to get in-and-out of and also the location. read more

I gave this review 5 stars because: 1. SECURITY - I did not properly lock my unit - So they called me up right away to let know. This shows that they actually check to make sure everything is secure. 2. CUSTOMER SERVICE: I had to cancel and reschedule my appointment with them at least 2x and they were very accommodating. 3. CLEANLINESS: The facility is clean and my unit did not have any visible trace of the old occupant. One thing I did notice was that they don't have a dolly for each building. I think this is something that they should consider having to improve customer service. read more

Public storage on 300 E larch rd is horrible. I called on November 19th to reserve a storage unit for December 3rd. I was told at that point my card would not be charged and I could pay cash on December 3rd. The minute I hung up with the storage company they charged my card. When I called to ask about this they said oh we're sorry but and I canceled my reservation. I told them I wanted the money put back on my card and today is the 29th and I still have not had the money put back on my card. They had the nerve to charge me for a lock and insurance that they had no clue if I even needed or wanted it. read more

Let's see how I can phrase this. I wish this place would disclose when they are closed for the day and when they will put a lock onto a storage unit when you don't have a lock on it. I was in dire need of a storage unit and was told public storage can usually fulfill your needs. I however decided to goto the one in Tracy. Big mistake, i understand that new people start and do not understand the entire process when starting a new job. I was lucky enough to get a new person to assist me on my quote as well as help me make a reservation. First of all, the new person (I forgot her name) didn't seem like she had any sort of training at all. She provided all of the wrong information when giving us quotes as well as didn't even know how and when to start the process of setting us up with a reservation. We initially said we wanted to start renting the unit on 8/30. Today is 8/29. We had came in about 5 days ago. The newbie set us up as renting 5 days ago. We didn't even bother to correct her due to us just wanting to get the hell out of there. I hope that gives you a glimpse of what kind of experience we had. Wanting to get the hell out of there... she had so much trouble setting us up with a reservation that even the manager seemed to have given up. She input all of our information wrong into the computer and didn't even know how to navigate the system. She just kept telling us to "sign sign sign" without even giving us a chance to read what we were signing. All in all, it's honestly too much to write out for the rest of the experience. Let's just say, I left the appointment confused and uneducated on what I needed to know. I left pretty upset that I had rented the unit 5 days before i even needed to which means I overpaid for what I wanted because they charge you by the days and prorate it if needed. Now on to today. I didn't have a chance to come back to this location to provide a lock so they can secure my unit. (I live in Oakland so it's a bit of out of my way) no where did they inform me that if I don't put a lock, they will put one on and lock me out of it. Now I just might have had the badluck on coming during their lunch time (they close the entire location by the way, I thought they would have a second person to stay during a lunch so they relieve each other and not have to close the business.) luckily I was right, they did have two people, but from the looks of it, it looks like the manager and the staff went to lunch together, which led to them needing to close the store. I was freakin stuck in the front of the entrance waiting for 20+ minutes. They said "be back at 1:10," they didn't come back until 1:17... why do they not let their patrons know that they close during a certain time of day?!! Once I come in, I'm a bit furious and I should apologize, but this was unacceptable and I had hired movers that change $120 an hour, they sat on their butts for 25 minutes due to no one being in the front of the store and having to wait for the manager to come Back so she can remove the lock from my unit... this is complete bs and I can be sure to make this experience my very last at public storage. read more

I got my storage unit on 11/24. I paid the first 30days up front and told them I only need it for the 30 days I paid for. They told me I wouldn't have to pay anything else if I was out with in the 30days. Today 12/9 I get a call saying I'll be charge a late fee in next two days if I don't pay for the following month. If I'm moved out with in the first 30 days she can't promis I'll get a refund. If I'm moved out by the 11th I have nothing to worry. Because I won't pay the following month she restricted the hrs I can access my property. I can't get to during the business hours because I work. Don't trust this place. They gave us wrong information and won't hold up to what they told us. read more

I usually don't write any reviews since I've had my yelp account but the service I had at this storage was so bad I just had to let everyone know. I have rented about two other storages in Tracy and this one has been by far the worst experience I have ever had. If I could give them a zero, I so would. So bear with me.. From the beginning, the lady I had an appointment with, can't remember her name, knew that I was running late and where I was coming from and seemed nice about it on the phone. As soon as I got there I apologized twice and explained again what happened and she never said it was okay nor did she seem too happy about it as soon as she saw me. She ignored what I said and went right to showing me the storage I reserved and instead of asking if I needed a lock to buy she stated I HAD to buy it. So I did because they were closing soon and I didn't want to say no to her. The whole time she had an attitude and was not welcoming at all. I asked if we can store some things while I signed the contract and she said no. So we waited and after waiting she mentioned we had 10 minutes to be out of the building... I brushed it off and continued my service. One day, my mom and I were in the storage unit going through things we didn't need etc. My mom has diabetes and has a condition where when she needs to use the restroom she cannot hold it for that long. Because of the coronavirus, their only bathroom was closed, which I understand but every time we were there, we were the only ones spending more than 2 hours in our storage unit. Anyways, my mom really had to use the restroom so I went to go ask if she can possibly use it, and the inside door entrance to the office was looked and an older lady, MARY, pointed saying I needed a mask. So I walked back to the storage unit and I told my mom. So my mom ran back because she had a mask on already and knocked on the inside side door and instead of Mary acknowledging my mom, she did not bother to look up, as she continued to look down at her paper she raised her arm and shook her finger as in saying no and pointed to the front door; which the only way to get to is exiting either gates all the way around. My mom came back to me super embarrassed and disappointed and explained what this Mary did. I was furious. We had to put everything back into our storage, lock it, get in my car, exit the gate, just to drive to the nearest restroom. Before I left, I confronted this lady and to my surprise she was the MANAGER. I was so upset but I calmly explained to her how she treated my mom was not right because she had told me to wear a mask and she could have just told ME to come around instead of my mom wasting her time to ask her with a MASK ON like she'd ask. And what baffled me the most was that she interrupted me while I was still talking in such a rude and shocked way while I was calmly trying to speak. How sad. She didn't let me finish and she was trying to apologized and explain her part saying she didn't even see her. No shit, because you didn't want to help her thinking it was me again. I told her I wasn't done talking but at this point I had to walk away because I was so upset and knew she didn't care to hear me out. Last one, I promise. My cousin and my mom were at the storage unit getting stuff ready for us to put in our U-Haul. I wasn't there yet, but I was on the phone with my mom and heard the whole conversation. My cousin and my mom were waiting for me to get there and parked in the parking lot that is before the gate where the parking lot and entrance to all the storage units are. Mind you, they were on the other side of the parking lot twice and were just parking there to take a break and eat. Not even 5 minutes of being parked there, the "Manager" Mary comes out and starts asking my cousin, "Did you need something?". This lady doesn't even say Hi and sounds upset. My cousin, caught off guard, asks her what she means. Mary proceeds to say, "Do you need something, like why are you parked here?". My cousin explains to her she's waiting for me and that we have a storage unit in there. Mary, knowing she shouldn't have been so rude, changes her tone of voice and says, "Oh, I'm sorry. I'm going to lunch so I was just wondering if you needed something before I stepped out." I asked my mom what just happened, and she explained it to me a little better, but my mom said she didn't even leave in her car because she had left earlier for a long period of time, meaning she took her lunch earlier. WORST. EXPERIENCE. EVER. Maybe they were all racist, maybe they weren't but like I've said before I have seen them all interact with other and Mary always had an issue with us. I recommend everyone a way better place to rent storage units, better price & service. I HIGHLY recommend going to the Extra Space Storage on 780 E 11th Street and ask for Marc Aceves, the manager. He was so nice & patient with me & answered all my questions & concerns. I wish I would have stayed with them. read more

I've been renting a 10/15 here for over a year now and they have always been very polite every time I was late in paying my monthly, (which was every month).... Thoroughly happy with their service and for a big business they make you feel special and not just a number... The premises is totally safe and secure.. Emily the manager is always professional and courteous and she had always been very reasonable and attentive in providing a great service to her clientele. The gist? I will not be back. To this public storage or to any other. The service I received here after storing my things here for 2 years without a single late or missed payment is ridiculous. First of all, the prices were raised a total of 4 times in 2 years. I understand inflation but these people get you into a unit knowing full well that it isn't worth the money you'll save to have to move everything into another company's facility. So they raise the prices, knowing you'll pay. Twice the licks I purchased at their facility rusted and could not be removed. They had to be cut off. I was forced to buy a new lock - from them and pay them to cut the old one off. And I hate to wait until they had the availability to do it. So I was essentially refused access to my own belongings. When it came time I could not afford to throw my money at them for such terrible service, I requested a prorated refund ($125.30) for the remaining days left in the month. I was informed they do not do that. They certainly charge you the prorated amount when you start mid month but they do not refund when you clear put before the month is up. I contacted both customer service and the district manager. They both told me in a bit more wording that I was out if luck. I will not be back here and I will tell my story to whomever will listen. read more

I have used the Public Storage in Tracy, CA, off and on for a few years, to store different items including fragile books. At first, this was a big concern to me, thinking they could be damaged by crawly creatures, weather, or possible vandalism. Climate controlled storage was the solution, to avoid the worry of environmental damage. The storage managers in the PS Tracy location, Carmen, Emily, and Jessica, have always been upbeat, positive, and most helpful in arranging for my storage. They are hard workers and ensure keeping the property clean, free of debris and pests, and maintaining a very organized and professional office. Added to this, the storage property has 24x7 surround surveillance and has competitive rates, which I most appreciate. With all this, I prefer renting storage space at this PS location, and I thank these managers for their continued excellent service! read more
