They are charging me $56 more dollars per month than they are offering online and the cowardly old man that I just spoke to on the phone instead of honoring their online prices told me he would not honor their listed online price and offered their corporate website to contact and hung up on me because he didn't have the courage to make it right. Instead I was told I could cancel my contract, buy a new unit at the online rate and move all my belongings. Yeah right. When I move it will be to a different company. Where is the competency and honor left? If you are offering my unit at a significantly lower price than what I am currently paying, than 1) it's not worth what I am paying and 2) honor your offerings that you post. Do not rent from them. It is unfortunate that I have to write a negative review. The facility is clean and secure, and we were happy with our space. Unfortunately- if you are like me, and don't read the fine print, they can ( and will ) raise your rate any time they want for no reason. It is month to month agreement, so they can change the rate whenever they want. We only had 2 months of the online price before they raised it by 16.00! We will be moving out as I am worried they will raiase again, and for the small space we have- it's not worth it!! They get you to move all your stuff in at a low price- so it is a pain to leave when the jack it up on you.... Business in America these days... Only care about your bottom line. read more

I rented three units for a year and nine months. They regularly raised the rates. I found water in one of my units. When I complained and asked for a different unit, they charged my $40 to move to a new unit and acted like it was somehow my fault!! They had a broken garage door for months and did a terrible job removing snow making it nearly impossible to get a moving trailer in and out to get our belongings. I rented and outside unit with a different company in Hudson and had NO issues and no rate increases. Also, the Public System kicks out credit cards with PO Boxes at the first of every year, making auto-pay stop....huge hassle! I complained when I left and there were no apologies! I was half positive about this facility because it is a clean and well kept facility. The price for my unit is truly affordable. But, it's a little headache getting in. The day of move in I saw an identical unit (same size, inside, upstairs, same building) for $20 cheaper. I don't understand why the prices are a moving target, but I did what I needed to make the switch. The manager made me feel stupid for wanting to switch though. **DON'T RENT A UNIT HERE**GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!** In December, I went in and inquired about renting a 10x10 unit. The woman told me the price would increase not more than 10% every 6 six months. Come six months later, the monthly rate increased 300%!!! I called a spoke to an employee and they told me that was the rate they are going for. Fast forward to a month later, and the monthly fee to my 5x5 also increased by 300%. Again, I called and spoke to an employee. The man just told me that they can't decrease my rate because it was a good rate. If you are going to rent from them, have a complaint ready to be sent to the Minnesota Department of Commerce, Attorney General's Office, or the CFPB. You are going to use it. read more

Safe, clean, affordable and easy access. I really feel that this is a good value that meets my storage needs.

Firstly the good: The place is clean, well run and from our perspective secure - started with three units and am down to one 5 x 5. First 5x10 unit was $34 and jumped to $92 after 4 months, similar with the other units. The cons: AS above the prices start out competitive and suddenly get raised, so not good for long term storage, I think if you are in for a month or two this is good, if you are thinking of longer term you may have to travel a little to find a better deal. So somewhat disappointed and you should be aware this will happen to you at random moments. read more

Beware to anyone looking for storage. In the span of 12 months my rent increased twice. First increase was only $6/month more. Second increase was an additional $100/month. Plus, they "require" you purchase their special tube lock for an additional $20 fee, with no returns when you move out. When questioned about the dramatic rate change they said it's in their contract that an increase can happen at any time based on supply and demand. It's a bait and switch game. You're all moved in and comfortable and suddenly you need to pay up or move out. read more

Last year at this time I in storage with Public Storage last year about this time. Since then I have had one price increase. I pay $52.00/ month for my storage spot with them. Up till yesterday, I was satisfied with service however I received another notice in the mail that my rate was going up to $181.00 per month starting July 1st. I'm not sure how a company can get away with a price increase of almost 100%!! I spoke with the store associate yesterday and she stated the company is doing this all over and that she is hoping her District Manager will address this issue with me and come to some sort of resolution. I Think this is just a shame that companies think this is acceptable!!! Please be aware if you are using Public Storage for your storage needs, this notice may be coming to you in the mail soon. The rental price of my unit LITERALLY -DOUBLED- this month. The reason given was that "prices change periodically." Was told that due to demand and how their units are almost full, they raised the price to more closely match the market. This translates to "we drop our prices to fill our units, then pull the old bait and switch." What a joke and what a terrible business practice. Do not rent here. read more

Just signed up at the office 5/20 for a unit. Unfortunately reserving online only reserves the price and not a unit, so I didn't get an outdoor drive up one I wanted. But they accommodated and gave me a larger unit in the climate control building that is still very accessible for the same price. The guy and lady that helped me were very helpful and even walked me to the unit so I could see it first. Gave 4 stars bc time will tell. I will update after a month or two. At least the first month is $1 bc apparently your month doesn't start at the time of purchase. Their month starts on the first of the month so basically I paid for the last week of the month as if I had it for the full amount. You month should start on whatever day you purchase the unit. read more

Since I got the storage unit in May of 2020 I have had 2 price increases already and now in April they will be raising the rent again totally double what I agreed to on my rental contract!!!! Worst storage place ever. Ask a year ago for the door to my unit to be fixed it was not and severe water damage was incurred within my unit because of the snow being pushed up against my unit. I was unable to access my unit during the winter because of the snow being plowed against my unit. When remedy was requested I was told to contact my insurance company and Public storage would do nothing about the situation. DO NOT RENT HERE!! Very clean, elevators work very well, everything opens when it should. My unit was very clean and everything was where it should've been. I would've liked to of known that I was going to the third-floor but I may do as I only had a studio apartment to disassemble. I really liked the staff, I had issues getting to my appointment and they were very accommodating. I arrived late and they helped me right away. The facility is extremely clean and well kept. I do wish the company (not location) would be more informative about extras. You will have to purchase a lock ($20) and insurance monthly ($15) the lock is a one time purchase, but insurance will be monthly, so expect your storage cost to be $15 more than stated a month. Other than the unexpected extras, (which is something the company should be forthright about when purchasing online) my experience was smooth and easy with great staff and very nice facility. read more

We rented a unit in July 2020 for $44.00 a month, on Jan 2021 they said that was an introductory rate and increased the rent to $52.00 a month (not a big deal but it was unexpected). Than today I was sent a notice of another rate increase. As for Oct 1 I will be charged $110.00 a month... when I asked why, I was told it supply and demand. So in reality you pay what that say not what you agreed to. And they can change the rate at any time... buyer beware! read more

The worker accused me of being someone else and trying to scam them when I pull out my ID to show him that I wasn't that person he just laughed at my husband and me. We were super excited to get a unit as we were trying to get ready to put our house on the market and this place was conveniently located to our house. We called to complain about what horrible service and of course no one calls us back. Also if you don't buy their lock they scrutinize you too. I wouldn't recommend this place. I called to complain that I could not get into my storage unit at 5:30 AM called at 9 AM when they open and I got the runaround about who I was all those details with a lot of attitude from the so-called manager and then only to tell me that they don't open till 6 AM she was a biatch to me with her attitude and her tone. It was such a hassle to actually sign for a unit here I ended up going elsewhere. Initial impressions were good enough, we wanted this location, it was easy to figure out unit availability and make an online reservation. Before I had finished the reservation I received a call from the site to set up an appointment to sign for the unit. We were told that any version of how we would like to come sign for the unit simply would not fit into the representative's schedule. We were hoping to arrive in the late afternoon to sign for and begin to fill a large unit. Ultimately, I was forced to agree to leave my dad to handle movers and an entire household's worth of goods in Minneapolis so I could drive up to Stillwater to sign for the unit in the morning so I could then drive back, help with the move, and then return to Stillwater with the leftover boxes to put in the unit in the later afternoon. I arrived on the appointed day a half hour late for a 10:30am appointment and the blame for that is squarely on me and already frustrated at this massive waste of time. Unfortunately, the representative's schedule was so packed she would not be able to help me until 1pm which would require me to cool my heels on the outskirts of Stillwater for two more hours. I took the path of least resistance and went to Public Storage location in White Bear Lake, if you are location flexible, save yourself the hassle and go there. You don't need an appointment and I was assured that any time I arrived they would help me sign for a unit. read more

Terrible self-storage. Unit had so much moisture all of our stuff was garbage. In winter the ice would freeze and make it impossible to enter unless you were diligent about removal. I have used much better storage in the area. I would look elsewhere. On the plus side, no mice. read more

THEY STARTED OUT GOOD and then showed their true colors .....I rented from 12/19 to 11/21 my rent increased from $36.00 to $110.00 a month for a 10x10 space. The access hours are limited and if you do not exit the facility by close BRING A BLANKET AND PILLOW YOU'RE LOCKED IN and may have to wait until the police are alerted to let you out because the after hrs emergency # doesn't answer !!!! A word of advice to future customers regarding insurance coverage they try to make you believe is mandatory. IT IS NOT check with your homeowners ins policy first they may cover your things. I was forced to enroll in their BULLS*** insurance when I initially signed up and cancelled that policy online the same day to save an extra $15 a month Its all part of the surprise hidden fees sign in scam. To reiterate I was satisfied with my experience here after I made some adjusting to the mo. fees. In conclusion the time to vacate was when I received the notice of rent increase which reeked of Biden administration philosophies! read more

Loni was great to work with, very personable. The property is kept very clean and well kept by the staff. The units are more spacious than you would think and they have a variety of products for sale in the office that you don't even realize you actual need. The only thing I didn't like is that the national Public Storage was advertising a special and I was told I couldn't get it because the facility only had a handful of open units thus the supply versus demand didn't warrant them giving me the special. I question if that was an internal decision or a company standard since there was a sign in the front of the place...but overall still happy and having autopay or payment online makes it easy. read more

This review is for Stillwater, Minnesota Public Storage. I am sad to say this is becoming a terrible experience. I moved my belongings into the storage unit back in November. Tameika was fantastic. I moved to Florida and recently went back to pack a few things to take with me. My unit had standing water, everything that touched the floor is moldy. I have a beautiful trunk that my mother left to me (she had it for 50 years) covered in mold. I took out what I could and threw it away, took pictures etc. I personally spoke with the manager there who said there was a big storm recently. So why is the rain in my unit. All he could do was put in a work order. My son recently went to take more pictures for me and again there is standing water in the middle of my unit which spread to my belongings. I called the manager again and he said "maam all I can do is put in a work order and I can't guarantee it will be dealt with quickly. "why didn't you put the work order in the first time I came to you?!! I spoke with his manager or said he would put me in another unit but I had to go and move everything. I don't live there!! I do not recommend Public storage the answers to the problem do not make it easier for the customer, just them. If you do go with them, have insurance. read more

Rent is due on first of month. Paid my rent using their electronic payment system, was provided with a payment receipt acknowledging receipt. 8 days later I received a call from the Stillwater location that my acct wad delinquent. Obviously there was a glitch in their payment interface, they said it was returned (not due to lack of funds I followed up with my bank). I suggested to the manager we get this corrected, which they would charging me appx $50 to correct their systems mistake. I was given a number to contact district manager Josh, he said it was my problem and to deal with my bank it was still going to cost the additional $50 penalty. Spoke with my bank and they have not record of the transaction. Second time this has happened and they are of no help. The district manager's (Josh) position was sux to be you. Asked him for a corporate contact number and he refused to provide. Cant get my stuff out of here as soon as possible and have encouraged a significant number of other tenants to do the same!!!! read more
