I am overly struggling and overwhelmed at this moment. I am not looking for a handout but I just know that it is a major struggle for me right now and I am doing what I can. it is hard trying to get ahead of all bills at once. I called trying to get some help with payments so that I will not lose my storage. My grandmother passed away and all of her valuables are in my unit. Please someone have some compassion and work with me to get caught up as it is very important for me not to lose my unit. these are unforeseen circumstances that I am going through and I am holding on to my faith that I will make it out of this stormy moment in my life. I am not a person that looks for handouts and would just need some time to get caught up with the payments for my units. I am a little over a month behind and my storage unit does now have a lien on it. I was late to an appointment but it all worked out because Aaron was so kind! Such a gentleman. I'm so grateful - if he was that kind to a stranger I'm sure his customer service is more than 5 stars!!! I headed to get my tire replaced after my appointment and as I stopped at the gas station to fill up on the way a lady there needed her battery jumped ... I used my jumper cables to start her car and thought of Aaron as I did. Aaron is an example of paying it forward and the kindness continues.

Instead I found out the day I moved in just because they had put a lock on my storage unit and I had to go into the front office to get it removed... I found out the discount was not approved then... 4 business days after I was assured it would be taken care of. In fact the general manager was responsible to give me the call about the failed transaction and of course bothered to call... I do not support business practices where either lying or cheating customers into contracts is involved. I would advise you to beware of doing business at this CubeSmart location!!!

Then, once that "free" first month is up they began trying to deduct the money from the card I used to pay the free first month. Then, the amount deducted was more than the rent is supposed to be. We're about 40 days in now. I called and they were just shy of rude. I sent in an electronic message and was told too bad. I'm addressing this through my bank at this point. Horrible business from my perspective. Brand new customer and it's been a disaster.

That is a 27% increase two months after signing up for the unit. If I had know the rate would increase so quickly I would have looked elsewhere. When I reported it to the office, they assured me it would be taken care of. Two weeks later, it was still there. Security is also a major concern. I have visited multiple times, both during and after office hours, and found the side door unlocked. Homeless individuals frequently enter and exit the building without restriction. My unit was broken into, and I wasn't notified until two days later. The reason? Staff claimed they only noticed during their rounds after the weekend--meaning they had no idea when it actually happened. Their response? "I think you should file a police report and contact your insurance company." You think? Frustrated, I canceled my unit and moved my belongings out well before the next billing cycle. I was repeatedly told I would receive a confirmation of cancellation--yet it never happened. Avoid this place at all costs. If you don't believe me, visit after hours and see for yourself. Terrible security, terrible customer service, and a terrible place to store your valuables.
