I don't know why there are so many negative reviews about this location, but MY experience has been completely positive. I've rented spaces here when they were under different ownership and they continue to be good as Public Storage. I have been renting from this place since 2023. Have never been late on a payment. Always respectful and keep unit clean, despite the nasty bathroom issues. I had knee surgery on the 24th of July and my sister n I battled through getting unit empty. Emptied on on Aug 3, notified them unit was empty on Aug 4. They withdrew my money on Aug 3 ($174) and said that because the company that withdraws the money early so it is not late on the 7th. Give me a break, you all are a bunch of money grabbing fraudsters that take advantage of the good people and help the others. CHEATERS!!! CROOKS!!! read more

I have rented various storage units in the past. NEVER have I been told that purchasing insurance through the storage company was mandatory. I have renter's insurance which I knew would cover the unit. I sent a "contact us" email to Public Storage to further inquire and was told I could cancel the insurance at anytime. So, it was not mandatory after all. Scam. read more

FYI..... my office just rented 4 units from the storage unit down the street. They didn't want to go through the same nightmare I've been through. The unprofessional property manager resorted to yelling and was extremely rude to myself and my wife to the point where our moving truck driver had to get out and intervene. We asked for permission to leave our unpack trailer overnight while we waited for some moving help and were told to contact the district manager for permission. Calls and messages to SC/GA district manager went unanswered. We have rented from Public Storage in several states over the years, but after this experience will always look elsewhere. We have a unit with them and everything has been great so far. They provide you with insurance and get you great deals. Deals are better online than in store; the desk clerk helped me get a unit online and then helped me while in the store. It was nice to get that kind of service. Stopped in upon arriving in the area. Was told they had specials for some storage units @ $1 for the first month rental. returned later in the day, wanted to rent a unit. Now, I am told, that the $1 special, did not cover a month , but only covered until the end of the month. OK, not bad, but not what was originally told. Did all the processing to rent a unit, and when it was all over, then they drop a bomb on you. You need rental insurance, and the minimum was $9 a month. Not once on the first visit, in the brochure I received, nor on the second visit until the last minute they dropped this on me. For that price, I could insure an entire 3 bedroom apartment and all the contents for the same price. Be careful, the specials arent so special, and wait for the hidden fee bomb at the end. read more

It was better when it was Morning Star. Public Storage came in and cut off 24 hour access to the existing customers without notice. I was late a few days on one payment, went to the unit 2 months later and there was still an over-lock on the unit. Because I use the unit for business, and the over-lock, I lost $150, which Public said was not their fault, even though the account had been current for over a month. The office staff is rude as well, and corporate is not much better. read more

Past management was AMAZING! New management was sending me invoices even after I gave a move-out notice, moved out, and called to notify I had moved out of my unit. Even through multiple emails, interaction with new management was less-than desirable. Called to fix the issue, manager had zero patience with me, interrupting me, and even hanging up on me when I was attempting to apologize for a misunderstanding on my part. Regional management will not own up to their own mistakes and blames everyone else, they are "never at fault" in their own eyes. Also, since Public Storage took over the company, replacing Morning Star, the company has gone down hill. I've been paying for heating and air conditioned unit...The AC has been "broken" all summer. I've asked and asked and the employees get really annoyed at me for asking about it. The main gate was broken for months, it finally got fixed. It was not safe in my opinion. The sign is torn down. It's rather a pitiful way to take care of a business. I try not to go into the office, it's like I'm bothering them when asking questions. I finally took pictures.... The employee's were parking in the handicap parking.
