Terrible customer service. Inappropriate billing. Can never get skills of a human. Chat is only a bot

Public Storage as a company is criminal. I would never recommend this storage facility. They raise your rates at random with no recourse. My rate has almost doubled in the last 8 months. DO NOT RENT HERE. read more

Viewed unit at the olive Street location. Was sent an email with the address. March 28th my husband goes to the location and can't get in. We call and the woman says he's at the wrong location. He goes to correct location to drop off some boxes. Next day, My first time seeing this location. I'm very unimpressed. It's very small. Not a great set up but whatever. We open our storage and it's leaking from the roof and water is coming into the storage building. It's the 29th Sunday and we can't get ahold of anyone. The truck we've rented is due back in several hours and we can't move our things in nor get our things out. So, we just leave the boxes in a corner that was somewhat dry away from the leaking roof. Monday morning I call first thing. They refuse to transfer to the correct location we booked. We did not book Brent lane. They kept me on the phone over an hour refusing to refund the money we put on Brent lane then requesting more money instead of a transfer and went from $77 monthly to 144. But come to find out are actually charging 187. We still haven't received our refund from the other place. Where I was told the manager of that property was responsible for getting that to us. We had to pay extra gas, storage and an extra day on the penske truck. So, all in all we're out almost $400 because public storage didn't properly book us at the right location and the location they sent us took was leaking, ruined some of our things and caused financial strain. We have no problem with the other location other than the price which was supposed to be the same then 144 but is now 187. I wouldn't recommend this company and I want my money back for the other building and compensation for the losses. Plus the rate we were promised. Horrible buisness exchange and very unprofessional communication throughout the entire process. The manager at the Brent location has yet to contact me or given our refund. It's April 7th. I've called several times. And nothing!!! Zero stars for this company. They did absolutely nothing to help after several issues on their end not ours. We had nothing to do with the issues we encountered and ended up costing us 5 times what we intended! Terrible buisness and terrible customer service. I won't stop until we are properly compensated and given our money back!! read more

great place, clean and convenient. good pricing and no extras tacked on. Did most of it on line and it was easy

Location and storage space is decent enough. But Expect your rent to increase by 50% within 6 months and over 100% if you stay longer than a year. The low intro rate is just to bait you in. read more

I'm so glad to be gone from here. This place is more than double the price of 3 different storage places,"Anytime" "Extra Space" and "life Storage" 2 of these are only $70 a month and one is $100 with first three months half off. I don't know how they get by with these exorbitant fees. We have the power people...stop buying into these prices! Do your investigating. Save your money. Take back your wallet. read more

Easy to learn and access, location is great being off Main roads for moving and storage i rented is a great size for money, place also looks in great condition. Easy to navigate read more

I have been using this company for over a year now i have had a rent increase over three times last month my storage space was placed in negative status and they added the late fee the lien fee I paid for the space mainly for backgrounds and a few clothing items. The unit was due to go to a auction and two days before the auction I paid the monies. I go into the unit and someone has been inside the unit and went through my clothing bins even hung jackets in the ceiling which is so high to reach, Im assuming they went into the unit to see what was in there of value. This place is a horror story they will raise the rent every few months. If your late by 5 days they start to call and harass you asking when will you pay. Then if you are more than 20 days late they add late fee and lien fee and now your items are up to be auction off. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Customer service is horrible and management as well. I will never use this company and I'm trying to seek an attorney of behalf of the way this company is charging clients once they move in based on need as the manager has stated. My Name is Shirley Carter and I started pay 150.00 per month on April of 2024 they raised it three times now they are asking for 400+ per month read more

great location climates controlled secure and clean I recommend if you need your personal items stored choose this location

Casey was very helpful with my recent move out at Public Storage on Plantantion. I was unable to access my unit when I first arrived so Management dispatched him to the unit. He arrived quickly and was able to assist us with accessing the unit. Moving out was a several hours long process for us and Casey made sure we had what we needed along the way - including umbrellas and a mop for our trailer when it rained and access to the dumpster. Unfortunately the water was off at the facility during our move out so the restroom was inoperable but Casey was very apologetic. A big thanks to Casey for his flexibility and kindness during our move out process! read more

Business is one sided and registering took for ever and it wasn't the agent but the software. They charge the customer a administrative fee for services they impose, so instead of them paying for it they charge the customer 30$ and even charge for the lock that by force I have to get it cause I can't use any other charging 22$ more, no discounts. Just one sided no customer satisfaction what so ever. read more

At first this place ok, at best. The people in the office were sweet when I was renting the unit but I soon found out they were not competent. As it turned out they couldn't answer the direct and very clear question of "just so I understand, I will not have to make another payment until December?" Answer "yes, that is correct ". So that was not true. 3 days later they were calling me telling me that I owed more money. Around 3 or 4 months in they raised my rate by $20. I downsized to a small unit since I had removed a great deal of what I needed storage for anyway. In a few months they raised the rate again. In the time I rented with them I was hardly ever able to find or contact anyone who worked there. When I first started renting there was a restroom available for customers which was never cleaned and always out of toilet paper. They closed access for customers several months in to renting. Unfortunate because with so many moving and traveling to the storage facility it was not a good customer service move. Their app to open the gate and the door was flaky and usually didn't work. And as if entering your code to open the gate wasn't secure enough you also had to use it to open the door of the building EVERY SINGLE TIME you made a trip from you vehicle. Then there were the 4 or 5 times that during business hours, the doors wouldn't open at all and so there was no access to your belongings. They must have spent a fortune to remodel the entrance to the building and close off the office where the only possibility of human contact was all the while continuing terrible customer service and a crap facility. After a glitch in the system that was trying to charge me literally YEARS in advance, they said the were going to discount my rent. They sent an email with a breakdown of the measly little $10 off which they NEVER actually applied to my account. After having a lengthy TEXT discussion with their corporate office (the only way available to talk with them) I was told that what I was paying was the discount rate (although nothing changed) and I had finally had enough and removed my things and closed my account. If you need storage I highly suggest you look elsewhere. read more

I rented a 10x30 storage unit in July of 2017. My Unit started out at 107.00 Like a couple of months later the Unit went up to 132.00. Now my bill is 152.00. I called the storage to ask the clerk what was going on with my bill. She could not tell me. Weird.. She told me to check my email. Not good. So, now I called this Jennifer Character(Supposed to be the District Manager) and she was very rude to me. Very. I guess because I called her on a Saturday. Which is a work day for Public Storage. I asked was there anyone else over her I could talk to, and she pretty much yelled No!!! That there was no one over her. Which turned out to be a lie, but this is what the lady(Jennifer) said. " I'll give you the number the first of January , or I can called back to my storage and get it from them. I never dealt with trashy service like this from Public Storage. The facility is clean and cool. They have carts and a large elevator that made it easy breezy to move our family photographs into storage and know they would be safe. Highly recommend. read more

Public Storage located on Plantation Rd - receives 2 stars because they are fraudulently charging insurance when disclaimer was performed at sign up. Their computer system kicked out that renter had insurance, so if you're on auto pay you don't see that it charges. When notified Shannon / acting Mgr, she is not concerned that their company forcing insurance. I've been in the office twice and filed the complaint and did paperwork on insurance. So they need to have an audit of their activity's and accounts. If customer is suppose to be a " valued customer" than THIS company is not valuing our money for Services but fraudulent taking extra money. read more

It was easy to get a unit and I appreciated the climate control however moisture did get to my furniture. The thing that bother me the most was the rent continued to go up. It started at 180.00 and 1 1/2 years later it was 304.00. I I auto paid so the rent was never late. After calling and then emailing I was given a 42.00 credit however I had already moved out. read more

No dumper for you to use if needed on site to throw stuff away and you have to buy a special lock from them costs about 20 dollars and then after a few months of renting they went up on the rent.... I would think the rent would stay the same for at least 6 months, but it changed after three months. I do not recommend this place. read more

Well I rented a 5x5 storage for not even two months and went to pay the bill . I figured i might get charged a late fee but whn I was told I would have to pay over $200 not just a outrages late fee but just like whn I rented and I should of known then when a $35 storage unit was over$100 after every little charge u could imagine. So was these bogus charges. They'll NEVER get me again. I'll burn everything I owned before I get scammed like this again read more
