This whole place reeks like urine & cigarette smoke! I rented a unit online, sight unseen, and have been trying to get in touch with a human to cancel/get refunded ever since & have not been able to get anyone to answer the phone or call me back, despite numerous attempts & leaving several voice messages for the property manager. The only time they called me back, I missed the call & their voicemail simply said "I was calling to see when you'd be coming to put a lock on your unit" so clearly they do not listen to their customer's messages or they'd know that I do not intend on EVER putting a lock on it bc I'm NOT keeping the unit. Literally never moved in a single item of mine. I would NEVER keep my things inside of this facility unless I wanted it all to have an extremely unpleasant odor afterwards.... GROSS!! read more

Rented a unit online. Received my code for the gate and my unit number (62) and instructions how to access. When I arrived to my unit there was a Public Storage lock on the door when there was supposed to be a security tag that I remove. Call the manager and left 2 messages that day and one everyday for 4 days and have never received a call back. Had to call corporate and they couldn't get in touch with the manager either and said they would put a request for the lock to be cut off but could take up to 72 hrs. So I've canceled and asked for a refund. We shall see if I get my money back. read more

Public Storage - The locked unit I was supposed to be moving my stuff into. - Self Storage Near Me - Metairie, Louisiana

Too many terrible things to mention. Late fees assessed on day that rent is due- which makes no sense. Came to pick up our stuff which was stored on a 3rd floor and the floor of our unit was covered in oily watery sludge that leaked all over our unit from some unknown source. Ruined boxes of books, a brand new crib, priceless family photos and their frames. Staff is really unhelpful and uncaring. Go ANYWHERE else to store your stuff. read more

No in Person Property manager to speak to instead you talk to a kiosk. No personal service. We moved out on 7/31/24 and had been in there more than 1 year. But we didn't inform the property manager that we had moved out because we didn't know how. Everything is automated. We paid automatically by credit card. I stopped payment for August because we are not in the space. Well I did sign a contract so I am being charged just under $500.00 for an empty space which by the way they had to reopen for me to be able to get in and use since I am being forced to pay for it. The light is horrible and it nearly impossible for you to see in these units. Not a good deal either. More than $20.00 a square foot is ridiculous for a space that is poorly lit, not climate controlled and you have no one to talk to when you feel something urgently needs attention. Not one time did we ever complain or miss a payment. And by the way, the rent has increased a great deal since we first signed up. So beware of that before you commit. read more

Concrete gap at entrance to facility grabs wheels and causes extra effort to overcome. Front automated sliding door is randomly unreliable opining only half way. west `Elevator, door refuses to close half the time, and once the optical gate is wiped and satiated takes almost a whole full minute to close once it starts. For a very new facility is sub par at best. Website for public storage will not show you accurate pricing and availability until you have a unit at the location, then all of a sudden there are more and better options in the same location. Shotty construction, typical of such places. Just have to love the remote video service counter, convenient for PS, why no after hours access if no one is staffed on location anyway is mind boggling. Not surprising anyone that storage is one of the fastest growing business. Think long and hard if that heirloom couch and electronics that were out of date by the time you purchased them is worth 1k/yr or more. read more

If you are thinking about renting a storage unit from here, please be cautious. A few weeks after we moved our stuff in the unit, we noticed this moldy, white powdery substance had accumulated over everything. I mean, it's literally covering every square inch of our furniture. These pictures were taken a few weeks ago. As of today that white substance is grimy and eating the texture of the furniture. We were surprised because the building is climate controlled. The site and regional managers referred us to the insurance company to file a claim for damages. Come to find out, Sedgwick (ins company) has a fungus/mold/liquid policy limit of $250. That's all we are allowed to claim. We thought we purchased a $3,000 insurance policy but all they will reimburse us for is $250. So, several thousand dollars of our furniture is ruined and there is nothing we can do about it. The property management offered no help other than to look for another open unit. We asked them to at least help pay to move the furniture and they wouldn't even do that. This storage facility has ruined our personal effects and the management has not lifted a finger to help make this right. One star is too much for this place. Again, please be careful about renting from here. Metro storage on Hessmer is a better alternative. Their units are clean and their staff are very helpful and professional. read more

Great experience renting a unit from Public Storage. Put my needs first and treated me with kindness and respect. Increasingly rare experience these days. Debra, property manager at the Clearview location deserves high praise for customer service. George Freeland read more

Everything was great! I had no problems the only thing I was not informed that the office was out of order on Clearview Parkway and I called several times and was not informed about the closure of that location. Which is where I went to make my payment for my unit. read more

This place is flat out awful!! It's muggy, moldy, it has mosquitoes, and the people who run it just don't know what they're doing. This is why you don't let people who don't have A clue about being a good business man or woman run and own businesses. This place needs a complete overhaul of management and structure literally. read more

I have had a locker here for one day. Two elevators, one doesn't work, the other gets stuck and doesn't work until the manager returns from lunch, I wait with lots of other people who say this happened yesterday also. Worst, I call managentl headquarters, in the middle of loading and they demand my Drivers License Number to talk to me.. while I am standing at a stuck elevator, waiting with the other customers. My drivers Liscense was in my truck, didn't think I needed it to load boxes. DON'T GO TO THIS FACILITY .. behind the charming sales pitch, climate control is set to not so cool ... a totally one way contract .... DON'T Go. The worst. read more

They charged my autopay after I moved out. When I keep calling them and no one answers my calls. I know public storage is the only big storage company but if possible I would find alternatives. Customer service is horrible. read more

This place is extremely convenient. With an up and coming restaurant, we needed to reserve a unit on the spot. So we made a call thru the national brand and set us up with Clearview and Vets. When we arrived, they only had inside units available (medium size). They ran out of large ones so we ended up paying for two units. Then they required us to buy their special locks, which aren't cheap. Despite the lack of large units, the need for special locks, a missing light bulb in one of our units, and one person servicing the whole building, I still liked their service and convenience. Plus, the employee hooked us up with a discount or two even with the special locks. read more

Had a reservation showed up on the day of with a full u-haul and no one was in the office to handle the reservation. Sign on the door said they would be there at 9:30 arrived at 10:30. Waited until 11:30 while I searched on-line for another storage facility. Another guy was waiting there as well he had been waiting there since 10:00. No one answered their phones. I did receive a call from them two days prior that went to my voice mail. I returned the call the same day they did not answer, I left a message & they never called back. The gate to the indoor facility was also left unlocked leaving the facility unsecured where anyone could walk in. By the time we left there were 4 customers waiting we all wound up at the u-haul storage facility that had plenty of staff and was secured. read more

This place is the absolute WORST. The "climate control" is broken most of the time. One of the elevators is always broken. The lights in the hallway are always out. The gate is usually broken as well. And, to top it off, the place is infested with roaches. Disgusting! I'm looking for a new place to keep my stuff - unfortunately, I have too much stuff, so moving it will be a huge pain, but at least I won't have to worry about whether my items are safe in this hellhole of a storage facility. BTW, the manager will lie to you when you're moving in. Not only do you have first month's rent and an admin fee to pay, surprise! you also need insurance and a padlock. Paying that much for a place like this? Total ripoff. Don't do it, and don't use any Public Storage facilities in this area! The district manager, Jeff, doesn't give a crap about his customers and will be as rude as anything if you have the slightest complaint! read more
