I then logged onto his user friendly website & immediately reserved one of his affordable 40' sites. A few days later I regretted not reserving one of the 50' sites. I contacted Jim & and he gladly modified my reservation to a 50' without any hassle. Knowing that I was moving to Overland Park from out of state, Jim spent time on the phone with me answering several questions I had about the area. The gate to get to the loading docks is secured by code, then you need a code again to get into the building. And once inside everything is kept very clean. It was very easy to get my stuff into the unit from the back loading dock. Up in the office they have plenty of boxes, locks, and other moving/storage essentials. The staff member that helped me get my unit was very friendly and helpful.

No roof, no gate access upgrades, no extra services--just a lonely patch of pavement. When I started? $69.99/month. Today? A jaw-dropping $119.99/month. That's a 71% increase for literally nothing new. They love to say, "Storage is a commodity." Sure... right up there with gold, soybeans, and natural gas, apparently. Except those usually come with some tangible value. This? It's a glorified driveway. And the kicker? Their own website is advertising the exact same spot for $94/month AND a free first month for new renters. So loyal customers? Gouged. New customers? Coddled. If you enjoy being penalized for loyalty, watching your bill balloon with zero explanation, and being fed corporate nonsense about "market rates," StorageMart's your place. That's all fine after using the truck I filled the truck up to exactly where it was(15$) . And fearing that I might get charged for "not filling the truck back up" I approached an employee and made sure that I wouldn't get charged. She hopped in the truck and checked the odometer. She seemed a bit unsure but then said that there wouldn't be any problems. I double down and asked if she was sure. She said yes. So I left reluctant that I still might get charged. I got my bill that I was expecting immediately . Thirty minutes later I got a 30$ charge for gas. Livid that I had been strait up lied too I call customer service. The man "Robert" was helpful in trying to resolve the issue. Now I am supposed to wait two days to get an answer if I'm going to get my money back. My advice is to take accurate photos of the gas gauge before and after your use of U-Haul. Just seems like a sneaky slimy tactic to squeeze as much money out of customers. Rent at your own caution.

Every person I've worked with has be competent and most are fun! This downtown location is usually busy, but I've never had to wait long. The staff makes check easy. If you drop off after hours, they send you a receipt the next day. Price is better during the week will have the best value.

started out with clean, new facility, reasonable rates near my home. now rates keep jumping up…read morefor no apparent reason and for the last 3 months the parking lot side entrance has been broken for "lack of parts" and last week the front door keypad was out of order and I was directed to the opposite side of the building from my unit. I went in the front door opened by the manager, went to my unit and carried out what I could in 1 trip then left. Broken equipment for entrance should be repaired or replaced immediately. we pay our high rent and we should receive high service!!
