First the positive: Friendly staff made it easy and quick to obtain a unit…read more Issues we had: 1. The promised promotional price did not happen, and had to be manually adjusted. 2. Twice the auto-pay stopped when there was a change of monthly rate, (perhaps as a result of the manual adjustments) and we had to receive a courtesy call that our bill was unpaid. 3. Our regular rate of $135 only lasted four months before increasing to $151 for 4 months, then to $205 for six months. Calling them to point out the rapid rise did not result in an adjustment. $269 was the next hike for 9 months before the next jump to $320, at the 25th month, when we finally said enough. 4. A request for a new weather strip at the bottom of the garage door early on took many months, and only after constant agitation was it finally scheduled and completed. All of the above is factual.

Initially we got hooked up with a box truck on short notice and that was cool, we were informed…read moreabout the gas surcharge and mileage surcharge. That's all fine after using the truck I filled the truck up to exactly where it was(15$) . And fearing that I might get charged for "not filling the truck back up" I approached an employee and made sure that I wouldn't get charged. She hopped in the truck and checked the odometer. She seemed a bit unsure but then said that there wouldn't be any problems. I double down and asked if she was sure. She said yes. So I left reluctant that I still might get charged. I got my bill that I was expecting immediately . Thirty minutes later I got a 30$ charge for gas. Livid that I had been strait up lied too I call customer service. The man "Robert" was helpful in trying to resolve the issue. Now I am supposed to wait two days to get an answer if I'm going to get my money back. My advice is to take accurate photos of the gas gauge before and after your use of U-Haul. Just seems like a sneaky slimy tactic to squeeze as much money out of customers. Rent at your own caution.

The gate to get to the loading docks is secured by code, then you need a code again to get into the building. And once inside everything is kept very clean. It was very easy to get my stuff into the unit from the back loading dock. Up in the office they have plenty of boxes, locks, and other moving/storage essentials. The staff member that helped me get my unit was very friendly and helpful.

No roof, no gate access upgrades, no extra services--just a lonely patch of pavement. When I started? $69.99/month. Today? A jaw-dropping $119.99/month. That's a 71% increase for literally nothing new. They love to say, "Storage is a commodity." Sure... right up there with gold, soybeans, and natural gas, apparently. Except those usually come with some tangible value. This? It's a glorified driveway. And the kicker? Their own website is advertising the exact same spot for $94/month AND a free first month for new renters. So loyal customers? Gouged. New customers? Coddled. If you enjoy being penalized for loyalty, watching your bill balloon with zero explanation, and being fed corporate nonsense about "market rates," StorageMart's your place. Otherwise, skip the asphalt tax and find a business that doesn't treat its long-term customers like walking ATMs.
