They have shady employees who are in cahoots with thieves who rent the smallest unit they can, and they will cut the lock off of your unit, put their lock on it, and raid you for all of your belongings. Full review below for those who have time: I think it's amusing how the owner can respond to the positive comments that have been left on Google in the past week, but they're refusing to address my mother's review concerning one of the recent (not the first of its kind) break-ins that occurred at the beginning of this month (March 3rd, to be exact). My mother has contacted one of the district managers, Mark Weigum, several times via phone and has yet to respond. I emailed Mark and the other district manager, Robert Pfuetze, last Friday, 3/8, and they have yet to respond. From what I've gathered from their LinkedIn accounts, as district managers, they oversee operations and customer service and supposedly ensure compliance with company policies and standards. Based on the fact that my mother's unit was raided by meth heads who appeared to be in cahoots with Tonya, who works the front desk, it doesn't look like either Mark or Robert are performing to that standard which means they don't have their customers best interests at heart. As I mentioned in my email, people are already struggling in this economy. Then, they use their hard-earned money to do business with companies like yours that are advertised as safe solutions and end up in positions like this, where they suffer so much loss. My mother has described this as a "punch to the gut." They took boxes of photos that my mother will NEVER be able to get back--photographs of her deceased mother and father. They took things that belonged to her deceased mother and father. My mother is an immigrant, and they took documents from the country she was born in. That is not okay, and I will not stop contacting you until you address this situation rightfully. As I mentioned in my last email to Robert and Mark, I will take this to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and just about anyone or any platform that will hear me out. If you've made it this far into my review and you're thinking about renting a storage unit from this facility, I strongly advise that you don't. Take your hard-earned money and go somewhere else.

In just four short years the rent doubled to over $104 for a climate controlled 5x10 unit! Annoyed, I decided to check out the competition and found StorageMart. It was not only closer to my house, but cleaner, in a better area, safer with secured garage docks and carts for unloading, and best of all it's more reasonably priced at just $57 (close to the price I first paid 4 years ago at the other place) with the first month free! As an added bonus, Don, provided friendly and courteous service. He didn't just hand me a paper with gate codes, he walked me through it and showed me around. I would have been fine on my own, but the extra service was appreciated. If you think storage is storage, you're wrong! Don't become a complacent sucker just because you don't want to deal with moving your stuff. Places like Public Storage apparently take advantage of that and raise rates often within the same year, hoping you'll just go along with it. I often see the staff sweeping, emptying trash cans, or walking the premises. The lighting is great and the door access control works without issue. Cameras appear to cover every angle and the climate-controlled areas maintain a consistent temperature with no humidity issues. Access is provided through multiple wide doorways with spacious elevators providing access to the upper level. The facility provides various flat moving carts that are conveniently stored just inside the doors. The loading/unloading area is well-lit and very close to the doors. Getting signed up is super easy. The paperwork process is quick and hassle-free with no hidden fees. **Pro Tip: Get your rental started by starting your rental via their website for the best price and to take advantage of their move in special. The pricing is very reasonable and a great value. A clean facility, robust security, and amazing staff--I feel like this is the best storage option in Overland Park!
