Incompetence and gross negligence are the words that best describe this location and business. If you take nothing else from my experience below, note: "Property Management" is a joke Heather is negligent and rude They do not confirm your move out so you are left with incurring charges After moving out of this space a month ago, I was finally able to get the $310 charge removed from my account. This took over 30 phone calls to accomplish. The property does not have a manager onsite, it is a kiosk location. This means that when you move out, they do not check that the lock was removed. During my move out I went to the kiosk and spoke to an agent virtually. I showed her my lock, she refunded my over paid account, and I thought the exchange was over. Imagine my surprise to learn of an overdue charge a week later. I called the property and left a message requesting a call back. After several days with no communication I call again and speak with someone who said the system was still showing a lock present but that they would have someone go out and confirm its removal. Multiple days pass with no communication. I call back and go through the saga again. Heather, the property manager, says they will go out and confirm that afternoon and to call into corporate the next day to get the charge removed. I follow these instructions only to be told by corporate that the space is still showing as occupied. I call back a third time to the property and speak to Heather, understandably frustrated by my experience. She does do whatever key strokes are needed to note the lock is no longer on my space, but when pressed with questions about how we got to this point after multiple points of contact, proceeds to hang up on me. Calling back to corporate the next day they tell me that although it shows the lock is no longer present, I still owe for occupying in the new month (plus late fees!), as it had already switched from January to February when the notation was made. I contest this, seeing as how I moved out three weeks prior, diligently followed their own move out checklist (even sending a notice of move out through the app early), and am not responsible for Heather's incompetence at doing her job. I was informed that this would be escalated to the district manager (could not get a name, phone number, or email address and was told they don't know who this person is) and I would receive a call or email within 48 business hours. I receive no form of communication. I call back, am told that it will be escalated again, and that again I should receive a call or email within 48 hours. Again, nothing comes across. The third call and escalation to the "district manager" I also ask for the legal information to provide to my lawyer to dispute these charges. I was told it would be resolved in 72 business hours then and today I am happy to say that the balance has been removed. Every single part of this process has been a nightmare. From the move out saga to the lack of vehicle maneuverability onsite, I wouldn't suggest this property to my worst enemy. My rates kept going up too frequently. There were no services added, I did no damage, there were no improvements, so why do the prices raise so frequently?? I removed all of my stuff from my storage, took my lock, went on my account and close my storage with the schedule move out date for February 25th 2024. On March 3rd 2024 I receive a courtesy reminder that my storage payment is due and pay it so I don't incur a late fee. Really?? I close my account! Do not try to charge me for another minute in that horrible, horrible, stinky, awful storage facility! I rated it one star because there was no option for minus one star. read more

I would like to say that I am about three months into my usage of this storage facility. My manager is Amanda C. at the Kannapolis site. She is very pleasant to work with and is available when I have reached out to her. I can say that I am very pleased with the unit so far. The only issue that I would have is that the unit that I started out in was a 10 x 20 which met my needs greatly. After only three months I was informed that my unit would increase from $169 to $205.00. Not sure what was going on here but I really didn't need all that space anyway so I downsized from 10 x 20 to 10 X 10 which kept it within my price range. I don't think this has anything to do with my manager but I would have liked an explanation as to why and if in the future how often. I definitely will be keeping my eye on this because there is no benefit to the renter for the increase. Working with Amanda C. has been great and I am in no way lashing out at her because I am sure that this is outside of her control. I have read a lot of the reviews for this company and most all of them express some sort of displeasure with the rate increases and how often they are taking place. I would love too give this a 5 star rating but settled for a 4 star and that's because of your manager and how she handles this site. It's always neat and clean here I hope that you have many more people like her working for you. read more

This place sucks! They will hound you all day about your payment if it's 2 days past due but once you pay you still don't have access to your unit. There is no one on the property to assist and they never call back. read more

Make sure you check your unit in the rain. Mine had 2 leaks. The manager is non-existent. She does not show for scheduled appointments, nor return phone calls. They took my money for a whole months rent even though I had the unit for exactly 1 week and never put in a single item. read more

Worst storage center ever. They get you in on a low rate and then after 6 months they raised it 30% $87 to $114. That's a huge jump! The guys said it might go up a little after a year..... Do not rent from this place! read more

I had a minor mishap with the access code. Tried going into the gate couldnt get through, waited for someone to come out, went through I unloaded my things, tried to get out still couldnt access the code. Was calling the 800# number. There's no 24hr service available. Luckly the person who works there also lives on the premises helped me out! read more

Our code would not work on move in day, we had the truck loaded at 7 am and couldn't do anything until the employee arrived at 9:40 which was 10 minutes later than their opening time. Once we were finally able to get in, everything was clean and ready for us to move in. Hopefully things go uphill from here. read more

Turn the other way and run while you still have money in your pockets. No assistance whatsoever in the middle of a global pandemic. As a matter of fact i was given a fee of $91 when my past due balance was only $96. I and everyone listed on my account received borderline harassment for a month, as they called us all multiple times a day, at all times of the day, every single day trying to get money from us when they're aware that we have none. I fully understand this is through no fault of the public storage employees, this is all beyond their control. Public storage as a company preys on the weak during a global crisis. Trying to figure out how to scrape up an additional $20 for a brand new lock because they cut mine off without telling me. Also, just try and comprehend this for a moment, i was only a month and 2 weeks behind. Most places right now will work with you if you're a month or two or even three months late, because they understand that everybody is struggling at the moment. Thankfully I'm just getting back to work and could pay it before they auctioned all of my stuff. But imagine how detrimental this could be to a large family or a single mother or just anyone in general who's been affected by this pandemic. Do better. read more

Awesome service from Judy....the monthly cost is a little high. However the property is well maintain so you are paying for what you get!

When I originally rented this unit I was given a discounted rate, but when I was not able to use that unit and rented a larger unit I was not given same discounted rate. Even though, this transaction was done the next day. I have rented this unit for less than 2 years and my rent has steadily increased. My original rent was $124 for a climate controlled unit to a larger non climate controlled unit which as of July 1st will increase to $205. I personally would not recommend Public Storage to those looking for storage units. With talking to other tenants this appears to be a common practice for this corporation. read more

I recommend Public Storage on Oregon in Kannapolis to everybody. They have the best prices. Today I Called and spoke the sales clerk Judy. She gave me excellent information on what all I needed to rent a unit and purchase packing materials. I was very impressed!! Judy knows her stuff!! read more
