12 inch mound solid ice covered in snow. This is after 30 min of throwing salt and digging at it with the plastic shovel from property mngr

Customer Service at this location is awful. Snow removal is awful. District Manager is sarcastic and says that snow removal is the responsibility fo the renter. Have been unable to safely access unit due to 12-inch solid mound of ice covered in snow. Had paid movers delivering my items to unit who could not unload without stepping over the mound of ice. Spoke with property manager about snow removal twice and was told that she would take care of it. When it wasn't done and movers could not access unit the district manager said that it was in my rental agreement that it was my responsibility - still haven't found in my agreement where it says this. I would never use this location again and would never recommend them. Additionally, the gate has been found wide open on numerous occasions, so safety is poor as well.

They give you a low rate for 6 months then raise the price more than $20/month for nothing more after that. No Thanks!

Once upon a time, I bought a couch while I was living in an apartment, and didn't have anywhere to put it. We had just bought a house, but we were at that in-between time when you don't quite live in the house yet, but don't want to haul a couch up the stairs to your apartment (PIVOT, anyone?). I called Wendy, she had storage, I put the couch in the smallest unit she could rent me and it lived there for a month until I got into my house. It was a short, but sweet experience, and I swore to myself that if I ever needed storage again, I was going to call Wendy. Fast-forward eight years and I had cause to use Room to Spare again. Only this time, Wendy had no room to spare. I checked. I even asked if she'd let me move some stuff into her basement for a short time. I honestly think if I'd begged, she may have given in and let me store some things down there. She's just that nice. Wendy didn't have any storage for me, but was so sweet on the phone and explained to me why things are the way they are. In this market, people are selling their houses quickly and then have nowhere to go. They move into an apartment until they can find a place, but then have to put all their furniture SOMEWHERE while they are waiting. Hence, all the storage units are being used. So no, I didn't get to use Wendy's services. She did offer to put me on her waiting list, but my need was immediate and I was able to put into place a backup plan. Oh, I should also mention that when I was first looking into selling my house, I stopped into Room to Spare to talk to them about packing supplies and them helping me sell some of my crap that I didn't want to bring with me to my new (downsized) place. The staff is so accommodating and kind and patient. I swear, one day I'm going to need to store more stuff and Wendy is going to have a place for me to put my belongings where she and her little storage angels will keep close watch over them. And if by chance I make it through the next few years without needing storage, I might just stop in anyway and bring her a coffee. She's just the kind of gal you can't help but want to make your friend. (Wendy, if you're reading this, what do you take in your coffee?)

Hidden fees,…read moreterrible customer service if you are lucky enough to even be able to speak with a human, forced to provide personal information so they can sell it to 3rd parties, bare minimum everything, etc. I now only hold companies by one standard, honesty. Public Storage Williamsville broke the only standard left, by blatantly lying to me and taking almost $200 from me. Public Storage certainly delivered on all the other terrible things corporations do this day and age as well. They advertised $1 rent for the first month only to make you buy a lock (that likely cost them $2) for $20 and charge a $29 move-in fee despite providing zero services, they don't plow after snow so access to your storage is likely blocked after any significant storm, have limited hours of operation in which you are able to access your own personal belongings, modified their office into an automated machine and removed the staff, had a broken gate for quite some time, announced they are doing some remodeling and access to your unit may be impacted for the next 4 months and potentially inaccessible entirely on certain days, etc. Then the grand finale, I was planning to move out at the end of April but I stopped in and the manager told me it didn't matter when I moved out as they prorated the departure month so you only pay for the days you rented. Instead of moving out on 4/29 as planned, I moved out on 5/3, and was told that I would be charged in full for May as they rent "month to month". No proration or refund for only using the space for 3 of 31 days would be provided. In summary, they are an absolutely terrible company so I would highly recommend you never even consider renting from them.
