Family-owned, congenially run, indoor, clean, warm, dry. I can't recommend them highly enough. Always cooperative and helpful.

First and foremost the black guy at the front desk is very unprofessional. And a liar. I was told…read morewhen I rented the U-Haul truck that the minimum miles to drive has to be 20 miles. Well when I went to go drop the truck off somebody was in front of me and he asked her, "How many miles do you expect to drive?" She replies "14 to 15 miles" I was waiting on him to say it has to be at least 20 miles that never came out of his mouth. It's ok though I will never return to this location not because of the money, but because he's simply a liar. Don't trust him. Read your contract. Make sure you take a picture of the gas mileage once you return the vehicle and before giving him the keys back. You can't miss him. Dark skinned, big ashy lips. Usually looks like he doesn't want to be there even though he signed up to do this job. Be careful at THIS specific location.

I mean, U-Haul is a wretched company with some of the worst problem-solving skills I've ever…read moreencountered for a corporation: lies, avoidance, aggression--it's a one-star operation from top to bottom. But sometimes, you gotta use 'em, unless you own your own cargo van, which most of us don't. So I'm just reviewing this shop on Main Street in Buffalo, which in some ways is only kinda crappy and only slightly part of the problem, but is still pretty terrible on the whole. I have now rented two vans from them in two weeks for two different tasks, and, frankly, the clerks have been helpful and polite both times, but...they are stealing from me. Trip One: I rent a van and am quoted $74 based upon the miles. The interior windshield is so filthy that I have to clean it myself halfway through the trip lest I crash at night in the rain. I return the van with many fewer miles than I estimated but am charged a $30 DOLLAR UPCHARGE to refuel the vehicle and then $8.50 for the gas on top of it. That's right. U-Haul charged me $40 dollars to put two gallons of gas in their van. Trip Two: I go there again without looking at the charges the first time. This time, they tell me that the 3/8 full tank on their van is half full. I drive 40 miles and put 3.5 gallons of gas in the tank. Unless we're driving an M1 Abrams, that's way more than I used. And then they charge me for 1.5 gallons of gas. So, I don't know if this shop or the corporation as a whole or both are to blame, but it's a scam and they suck and everyone should be ashamed of themselves. I give one-star reviews like never, but you've earned this.

The loading dock doors I was promised we could use to load in and out so we weren't parked on a city street, lies. Tenants aren't allowed to use the loading dock doors, but the manager/employees park there. Also, one of those doors has been broken since I moved in in January. Elevator broken since May 2026. I have a third floor unit with items in it too large to fit down the stairs. The entire third floor smells like sewage coming from the unused bathrooms that are locked. All of my belongings now smell like Sewage. Manager is completely ineffective. No follow through. Pointless to call corporate office because they just kick it back to the manager. The employee today when asking what I can do to get some help for not being able to access my belongings on the third floor for a month reminded me there an arbitration clause in my lease, so I can't sue them. Very helpful. Must have been trained by the manager. Please. Go anywhere but here.

I had put my items in the wrong locker (C498 was correct and I put them in C489), they held onto my stuff for three months, then threw it away. I'm asking them for a refund on the correct locker that I never opened once ($638.74) and they've brushed me off entirely. On June 29th I moved $700 worth of personal items, including furniture, kitchen appliances, and other smaller items into locker C489 at Extra Space Storage. I left my things in the locker and left without any word from staff. I never received any emails or calls regarding my items from Extra Space Storage for the following six months other than to charge me. They charged me about $76 a month for the first three months then increased to about $142 per month the last three months for a total of $638.74. When I returned on November 30th to pick up my stuff with a uhaul, the key I had for locker C489 did not work. I checked the app and saw the correct locker was actually C498. C498 was entirely empty besides the lock and key the facility provides to its customers. The manager allowed me to look inside C489 and it was full of someone else's stuff. This Tuesday the manager of the Young Street facility called and informed me that I had put my things in the wrong locker, the facility had held onto it for three months and thrown it away. I asked for a refund of the $638 I spent on the correct locker. He declined but said he would talk to his district manager. I asked if I could speak to the district manager and he said as per company policy I could not. For the rest of the week I have been calling the store manager every day about the refund. He has told me that the district manager will not give me a refund because this situation was based on my mistake. I have called the corporate offices repeatedly and nothing has been done. Having exhausted all other avenues I'm making this post. I understand fully that I made a mistake. I am not pursuing the $700 value of the items they threw away for that reason. But it does not seem fair that they get to throw away my items without making any attempt to locate or contact me and then continue to charge me for a unit I never used. I never used the proper unit because I had no idea my items were in the wrong unit.
