    TLDR: I hired Extra Space Storage to hold onto some of my items for 6 months while I was between…read moreapartments. When I went back to collect my things they were gone. I had put my items in the wrong locker (C498 was correct and I put them in C489), they held onto my stuff for three months, then threw it away. I'm asking them for a refund on the correct locker that I never opened once ($638.74) and they've brushed me off entirely. On June 29th I moved $700 worth of personal items, including furniture, kitchen appliances, and other smaller items into locker C489 at Extra Space Storage. I left my things in the locker and left without any word from staff. I never received any emails or calls regarding my items from Extra Space Storage for the following six months other than to charge me. They charged me about $76 a month for the first three months then increased to about $142 per month the last three months for a total of $638.74. When I returned on November 30th to pick up my stuff with a uhaul, the key I had for locker C489 did not work. I checked the app and saw the correct locker was actually C498. C498 was entirely empty besides the lock and key the facility provides to its customers. The manager allowed me to look inside C489 and it was full of someone else's stuff. This Tuesday the manager of the Young Street facility called and informed me that I had put my things in the wrong locker, the facility had held onto it for three months and thrown it away. I asked for a refund of the $638 I spent on the correct locker. He declined but said he would talk to his district manager. I asked if I could speak to the district manager and he said as per company policy I could not. For the rest of the week I have been calling the store manager every day about the refund. He has told me that the district manager will not give me a refund because this situation was based on my mistake. I have called the corporate offices repeatedly and nothing has been done. Having exhausted all other avenues I'm making this post. I understand fully that I made a mistake. I am not pursuing the $700 value of the items they threw away for that reason. But it does not seem fair that they get to throw away my items without making any attempt to locate or contact me and then continue to charge me for a unit I never used. I never used the proper unit because I had no idea my items were in the wrong unit.

I was asked to have someone be there 30 minutes before the movers were scheduled to be there. I had queried whether to have the movers would like to utilize a basement bay or the front door. I was assured that the movers would prefer to utilize the front door. The movers had a 2 hour window and they never made it to the office in that time frame. They called 20 minutes after the window and said they would be there in 15 minutes. 45 minutes after the 2 hour window they called back saying that they were at the basement bay. I informed them that I was told that they would prefer the front door. It was not until 60 minutes after the 2 hour window that they made it to the office. It took them 15 minutes to move the truck from the back of the building to the front. They were pleasant enough. They moved the items to where they needed to go. I am not impressed that after all the communication there was time lost and more expense for us because of the lack of clarity between Mike and his movers. It cost me approximately $50 because of their lack of communication

They never stopped and worked like an organized well oiled machine. One was loading, while one took things apart and one playing tetris organizing in truck. Thursday was packing day, and a crew of three arrived precisely on time and packed up our house incredibly quickly and efficiently. Friday was the actual move, and the crew was again punctual and efficient. They arrived around 9am and by 11:30am we were fully moved and unpacking. We did a virtual walkthrough a couple weeks prior to the move so they could give me a ballpark estimate, and the final price wound up being about $30 under the estimate; pretty damn close. The best endorsement I can offer: I had a remote meeting Friday morning as the moving started which I took in the backyard so I was out of the way. I kept seeing my husband wandering around out of the corner of my eye, so I muted my audio to see what was wrong. His response? "I'm bored. There isn't anything for me to do, they're just taking care of everything." They really went above and beyond -- helped bring a bulky arcade cabinet that we weren't moving up to the garage from the basement, and even assisted with arranging the placement of rugs in the apartment so they were sorted out before piling on furniture and boxes. When we got settled and unpacked in the new place we found not a single thing was broken or damaged. I was impressed that beyond their obvious competence everyone was extremely friendly and easy to work with. I would unhesitatingly recommend them to anyone looking for a painless moving experience.

Their movers (the owner and his son) arrived on time and came fully prepared with furniture pads and the necessary tools to transport all my furniture (even being prepared and easily able to transport an oversized couch down over an exterior balcony when it would not fit through the stairs)! They were courteous and clearly experienced and took time to ensure none of my belongings were damaged during the move and that they were securely packed in their truck for transport. For some of my items that needed to be placed into storage, they helped me organize everything "Tetris" style to the point where I was able to use a smaller storage unit than originally expected. The savings from using a smaller unit alone will likely pay for the entire cost of using movers over the next few months! All in all, I was extremely impressed with my experience with B&F and look forward to using them for my next move (whenever that may be).
