A month ago I would have given a 5 star review, but they recently sent out an email saying they are increasing prices from $90 a month to $137 a month. That's a 50% increase with 1 months notice. At $90, it was a good storage unit. Mid level quality. Not climate controlled. Nothing fancy. At $137? The value isn't there and the business ethics leave a lot to be desired. Thankfully we were moving our stuff out anyways because we only needed it for the short term but I feel bad for the people that don't have a place to store their stuff and are now being forced to pay the new (absurd) rate. If you're gonna raise the price, at least be like every other scummy corporation and practice the "price creep". read more

Public Storage kept hiking every few months now barely over a year later and my monthly rate DOUBLED.. wow.. like gotcha!! Cost it me $500 to rent truck and help to move my storage else where and they said we increase at most 25% a year, not crazy double!! Also office people go to different sites that no one there to give you shovel so you can access your unit. I got stuck countless times that I had to buy shovel just to access my unit.. double price and unit snowed in by the truck that push the snow against it :( Never trusting month to month agreement again or public storage.. it is a game to freely hike your rates crazy double or more as their computer wish! read more

Old facility with ceilings falling down inside. Doors are also in need of repair but home office refused to fix it. Light inside did not work and home office refused to fix it. Site manager was hardly ever present and would not return phone calls until I threatened. I do not recommend using this facility. read more

May 6 or 7, 2013 I received a call from Public Storage, a girl left a voice mail that my unit was broken into. I was out of town at the time of the call. I got back Friday at which time I went in person and asked the girls in the office. Why wasn't my unit secured with a lock? I was told by the two girls working, one of which she said she's the manager, well it's been unsecured since Monday and the break ins continued through Thursday night, Friday morning! I replied, why did you not call police when it happen and secure the broken gate and units right away? I got no explanation for why they didn't act sooner. Maybe an inside job! I asked the girls in the office, do you know what was stolen? They said that a guy that owns a tool or repair shop got all his tools stolen. I didn't question how they knew that info. I was there again on Saturday to empty what remained in my unit, only then those girls called police to report the break ins. *Crime stoppers have a date of the thefts being the 10th or 11th of May 2013. That is incorrect. Why did they wait a whole 5 or 6 days to reports the break ins? Why did they not put locks on all the units that had missing locks? Why did they not put a lock and fix the back gate that was the burglars constant entry way? ** I have a the voice mail and we recorded the conversation Friday and Saturday May 10 and 11, 2013. Do that right thing and call crime stoppers about what you know. There's a reward for doing the right thing!! read more

I just signed up today and was in and out quickly and efficiently. Price is right for what I need right now, and the special helped. I got myself a good strong lock on the advice of the staff there, just in case there are any break-ins, so I'm not worried on the security front. Good, cheap enough, and pretty close to where I live. No lights work gate has been broke since May anyone can break in any evening and rent goes up $ 15.00 with nothing fixed.

Last Saturday (5/30/2020), I unexpectedly sold a vacant second home I had in Fort Wayne. This meant I needed to move several large pieces of furniture and store them until I can move them to the state I live in now. I called Public Storage on W. Coliseum five minutes before closing. I just wanted a price and said I would call back since it was so close to closing time. However, the call center person helped me to finish despite going past closing time. Then, when I came to the facility in the morning, I met Lori and Shanice and both were extremely welcoming and friendly despite a lot of other customers and Covid19 restrictions. Shanice, in particular was wonderful! She helped me better figure out my storage needs and found a better fit than the rushed one I had chosen the night before. She was funny and sweet and just a joy in what could have been a stressful situation for me. Plus, she loves dogs! ;) Anyway, Public Storage is a bit higher priced than other storage facilities, but the customer service is the best and for that reason I highly recommend them for storage needs! read more

They are very friendly and the space is clean. Very fast service. Easily accessible from the road.

From the initial phone call until the very end of my renting, it was horrible. The same questions are asked on site and on the initial phone reservation call.....why.....a no is a no!!!! The rental rates keep going up and the initial fees I felt, were misquoted!! I was told on the phone $20 and when I arrived on site, I paid almost $50. WTH Then the unit had issues with cockroaches and the maintenance was supposed to gain access to my space, but the office person just kept apologizing on their behalf. The gate doesn't work half the time, oh, and I could go on forever it seems....I would not rent a space from them again. read more

I have two large lockers at the West Coliseum, Fort Wayne Public Storage, since around 2014. I am mostly happy with the deal after comparing with other storage services. The lockers were clean, the locks sturdy, the access hours long. The price has gone up some but not a lot. They seem to price them by demand; sometimes a larger locker is cheaper than a medium, I guess that happens when too many open up. Weird. My biggest locker is cheaper than my medium big locker. The staff is friendly and seem to deal with things. The grounds are secure. The gate works. There are no roaches or mice in my lockers. However, when there was a fire in another locker and they wanted to empty out my building to fix, they gave me a different locker but no help or money for the effort of moving. I'm an optimist, though, and it gave me a chance to organize. And when I got my 2nd locker they wouldn't give me the first month discount because I was an ongoing customer, though I didn't see a disclaimer for that on their advertisements. That was the cheaper bigger locker so I shrugged and didn't complain. Those discounts are to bring in new people, so it was not unexpected. read more
