Apparently it only applies if you begin on the 1st day of the month. It's a total scam! A free month means the 1st 30 days! The manager Dennis in Council Bluffs world take no responsibility and kept blaming Corporate Policy on the way the contracts were written. No help from anyone anywhere to make this right. Almost half of the items in my storage unit were destroyed by mice. I found dead mice in my unit when I moved out and even had a live one run out of there! They also raised the rent on my unit multiple times. When I tried contacting the business to let them know I was moving my things out it took 3 emails, as they wanted it in writing, and almost 2 weeks before I heard from them. I have tried calling to let them know I no longer needed the storage unit but never received a call back. Don't try to leave a review on their website. They only post the positive reviews. I would not recommend an outside storage unit to anyone needing one and good luck getting in contact with anyone once you don't need it anymore.

Which wouldn't have been that big of a deal, except NO ONE told us and then they locked us out of our storage on the day we rented the U-Haul to load everything up. Once I realized they hadn't taken out the autopay, I immediately went into the online account and paid the balance. Our account with them has NEVER been delinquent. So there is absolutely NO REASON we were locked out. For reference, it costs THOUSANDS of dollars to move from IA to NY. Two days, four phone calls, and an email later and we still can't get to our things. Haven't even gotten a phone call back.

to start i say this if you have a unit indoor with cubesmart i would go check it right away!!!…read moreif i could give cubesmart zero stars i would because they don't deserve any friends of mine had a indoor unit with them and a lot of their stuff was destroyed because of cubesmart's carelessness all week they have left doors open that lead directly indoor and something for multiple somethings we're able to get inside people rent indoor units in order to keep their stuff safer from the outside environment and the outside world that is why a lot of people rent climate-controlled and or units to avoid problems like what my friends are going through now a lot of their stuff was destroyed covered in animal feces to which cubesmart referred to as rodent feces but as you can clearly tell by the pictures that is not a rodent it is either a raccoon and or a rather large sized animal or something my friends are very clean well kept good people who have worked hard for their money and the things that they have and they should not have to lose their money and their belongings due to the carelessness of cubesmart who didn't bother to either check their doors or shut them and just completely act like they really don't even care to be honest when my friends went into the unit and found out that this had happened they went to the office and spoke to someone who in no uncertainty said it happens all the time and then try to backtrack and say that's not what she meant they're declining to cover the damages under insurance because they say they don't cover rodent problems yet you pay for insurance so your stuff is protected my friends had stuff in there that belong to them their kids stuff of sentimental value that can't be replaced they trusted cubesmart to keep their belongings safe i know not only have they declined to cover the damages that were done due to their lack of responsibility carelessness and ignorance but are also just not responding to anything and trying to sweep it under the rug which is wrong on so many levels and cube smart should be ashamed of themselves for that because if the storage unit was theirs and their belongings they would never want to go through this and be treated how i would not recommend cubesmart to anybody and again i say if you have indoor units of your own definitely go check them as i am sure you would not want your items and belongings to be destroyed and be going through it my friends are going through because clearly this has been an issue that has been going on for some time and keep smart clearly knew about it and did nothing and they can sit and deny it all they want but the evidence speaks for itself and while the photos of the doors are not time stamped because i don't have the time stamped photos my friends do have time stamped photos for every night that they've gone and checked the doors for the last week and just drove by there to see if they were open and they were open every night this was the fault of cubesmart no one else cubesmart should be responsible for covering the loss and damages because if those doors would have been closed this problem could have been prevented!!! i also feel that the health department should go in and check them out as this could very much affect peoples health with all the germs and whatever else he's really sad that people who have worked hard who are very nice people very clean and well kept people who brought their stuff to a place so it would be safe have to go through this and i would hate to see anyone else go through it!
