I paid early trying to be a good customer and they started bombarding me with texts and emails that I was late on my payment. I went to the office which they are rarely in and they weren't there, of course, sent them texts and emails telling them I paid and sent them a screenshot of the payment. They finally acknowledged my payment but told me I owed one dollar and three cents. I did tell them the disappointment I had with their lack of book keeping skills and management and the harassment even when I paid early. I could go on but to make a long story short they locked my unit over the $1.03 due to an increase in a mandatory storage insurance that they will subject you to. I told them I would pay asap but want to pay in cash so I can personally hand them the money but they are closed Saturday through Monday so have to wait until Tuesday without access to my unit. It's Sunday so I will lose a day of work because I keep my tools for my business in the storage. Lastly, avoid this place like the plague unless you like to be abused and treated like trash. And they just raise my rent $30.00 per month. I am Lookong somewhere else to move my stuff asap.

I was very disappointed by the service I received during my move. Two of the three members of the…read moremoving crew did a good job, a third was less motivated and left boxes in random rooms despite being clearly labeled. I had more miscellaneous scratches than expected on wooden floors and dinged the paint. But I would not have left a bad review based on that. When the crew arrived, they told me that they didn't have enough time to do my move because they had a seven hour move scheduled afterwards. I told them that I had described the situation to the estimator, saying that I could tell them the big items but simply had no idea how many boxes I would have. She suggested a number and gave me an hourly rate which I found acceptable, assuming that they would stay until the work was done at that hourly rate. Instead, I got 2/3 of my house moved. Some of that was my fault because I could've been more accurate if I had been finished packing when I made the appointment, but based on the shear number of rooms and large items I described the estimator could've done a much better job, or told me to call back as the moving day got closer so that I could update the estimate to assure enough time. Even if that, I would've gone back to the devil I knew too to finish the move. There were a few things that needed to be corrected from the move the prior weekend that I assumed they would do when they came back out, but when I called the next week to schedule the second move, the estimator he told me that he would charge for it in my current move despite the fact that it was work was left undone from the previous move. When I noted this, he said that they would've sent a crew out at no charge but they couldn't do it for free when they were sending new crew out. That was the final straw and I decided to use a different company.

That was the past experiences. This is now. I recently used this company to move from a 2 bedroom apartment to another 2 bedroom apartment (simple move). It was absolutely horrific. First of all, the movers were two hours late. I realize this happens in business. It's life. The problem is that the "crew" that was moving me did not call to update me on this which put our move right around rush hour traffic as opposed to 115pm which is when they were supposed to be there. I suppose I could get past this if it was the only thing that happened. Here's the more important items about the move: the 3 movers in my "crew" were unprofessional, very slow, very unmotivated, they tore my leather couch in more than 1 place (pictures attached), they chipped a very expensive custom frame I had made for an art piece, they damaged 2 lights in the elevator in my new building, they literally said (BEFORE THEY UNLOADED MY LEATER COUCH FROM THEIR TRUCK) that it would not be able to fit in the elevator or stairwell (lo and behold after I paid them each $40 cash or $120 total) the couch suddenly was able to make it from their truck to my apartment (with gouges/rips in two distinct areas -- pictures attached). In addition to this, the office quote that I received wasn't realistic to the actual time by about 2-3 hours and I had the movers take less items than I originally had quoted because I could see how poorly this move was going to be. I have not received a call back or acknowledgement of my disappointment in terms of professionalism and the damages to property. I should have refused to pay but I wasn't sure what to do as I felt somewhat hostage because I was at the mercy of the movers (once they have your belongings and start the move you're basically stuck with them. Unfortunately, there's no pause or shut-off button. As a part of life, moving has to be one of the top 5 most stressful things a healthy individual will go through. Two Men and A Truck managed to make this already expensive experience extremely stressful, unpleasant, etc. I will never use this company again and I wouldn't let a family member or friend use them either. I would have been better off canceling the move when the unprofessional, tardy, and sloppy movers got to my starting property and delayed the move until I found another company. But hindsight is 20/20. Terrible experience. I wouldn't have used these guys for free let alone $900 plus. I feel violated and bewildered about this whole moving experience. For me, it's not about the money it's purely about the principal. $900 for a terrible and miserable experience with goods damaged is unacceptable.

And when I saw the extra charge being billed, I reached out about ten day before the end of the month, explained what had happened, and asked for a little compassion. What did Cornerstone Storage do? They said, "The system won't let me." Then they added late fees. To a grieving customer. Who had already vacated. Who explained everything honestly. Who was literally holding her dying cat when the notice didn't get sent. Let that sink in. They had a chance to show humanity. They chose greed. They had every opportunity to act like people. Instead, they chose profit over basic decency. They knew I was in crisis. They saw that as an opening to pull more money out of me. And now they're punishing me for not paying a charge I never should have received in the first place. If this is how they treat someone in the middle of an emotional breakdown from the loss of their loved one, imagine how little they'll care about your situation. Your late fee. Your billing issue. Your loss. This is not customer service. This is predatory and disgusting. I wouldn't trust this company with a cardboard box--let alone anything that matters to you.
